Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

GermanyYou could hear everything what happened on the street in front of the riad at night.
The property is really traditional and the staff is really really kind. They waited for us every night and helped us with everything (trip to the desert, taxi, etc.) Also they have an amazing rooftop terrace.

Slovenia- lock on the front door was jammy and didn't feel safe - not much privacy in the room (glass door with see-through drapes) - can get quite noisy in the mornings - the location might be difficult to find on your own - didn't have enough hot water to fill the bath
- big terrace with a great view - professional and helpful staff - big room with an okay bed - hot water - lots of shops and atms in the vicinity

United KingdomNothing to complain about. The room on the very top floor has no wifi but there was a sitting area one floor down we could use for this. The roof terrace more than made up for it
Mohammed is the kindest, most helpful host imaginable. The view from the roof terrace is the absolute best in the Medina and the interior of this 450-yr-old Riad was a cool and peaceful shelter from the bustle outside. The location in the heart of the old city was perfect for exploring Fes. Our son adored the breakfasts, especially the chocolate drink Mohammed gave him as a treat.

United KingdomSome electrical fittings not working and a hard bed. But the manager allowed me to change rooms for a more comfortable one.
Clean property but probably a little past its sell by date. Some electrical fittings not working but a good hot shower. The manager was very helpful with suggestions for places to eat. A typical breakfast in the morning.

United KingdomI don’t doubt that the location would be, for some, perfect; the riad is right in the middle of the old Médina, which is not without its perks. However, myself and my partner found Fes and in particular the old town to be very intense. You cannot leave the riad without being immediately hassled by very persistent vendors and young men in football shirts, to such an extent that we tended towards staying in at night because even the most simple of excursions became very stressful. You can also hear very clearly whatever is going on in the street outside as you try to fall asleep because the door to the riad is almost always kept wide open, including at night. Overall, if the riad was in a different part of town, we would 100% return, but unfortunately the location was not for us. Fes al Bali is wonderful for a day trip, but in general I think tourists might be happier and more comfortable in Ville Nouvelle.
The property is absolutely beautiful and the owner is a lovely man! We were comfortable and wanted for nothing during our stay.

SerbiaYou have to be aware it is not the hotel, so dont expect comfort that way. Our bed was really hard as a rock, but we survived 3 nights all thanks to Mohamed and the view :).
Riad looks amazing inside. Mohamed was so helpful and attentive, always there to help. The location is great, central, and easy to find. The view of the terrace is worth a million dollars. Breakfast was great and different every day.

SingaporeThe wifi was not the best. Also, you might miss the Riad's door sign if you approach from the other direction, because it only faces on way. Follow the Riad's instructions and you should be fine.
The staff were amazing. One of them was a lady who spoke great English, and was very helpful. I assume she was the one answering my questions on booking.com, she was really responsive. The other staff was a gentleman who I could not communicate with because he spoke Arabic/French, but he was nonetheless exceptionally friendly and did everything he could to help us when we had any requests. The staff here made our stay a very pleasant one. They even helped us book a taxi, and allowed us to store our bags after checkout The breakfast served was standard Moroccan fare, but honestly fantastic. It was a big spread of food, and already included with the room. The rooms were also quite big, and might come with a balcony where you can lounge around in. There is a rooftop terrace with a great view of the old town of Fes, and a great place to just hang out. The toilets were big, had ample hot water running too. The Riad does not have too many rooms so it was quite private. Location of the Riad was good too, you can easily walk to the Souks (markets) from the Riad.

IrelandThe rooms were very cold and the air conditioning/heater wasn’t working. The bathroom was very dirty. The towels provided were not properly washed. The whole place is very antiquated and needs urgent renovation. We paid good amount of money (€70 for 3 nights) but felt as if we stayed in a cheap motel. The walls need a lick of paint and the floors need some scrubbing. The bed had a cardboard mattress. The Wi-Fi didn’t work on our last day. I can’t believe this place is listed on Booking.com and the company has no shame making profits off it.
The staff were nice and made us good breakfast. Sadly the place is a shell of its former self which is very unfortunate.

GermanyWe did not feel that the bedroom was clean. Bedsheets and towels did not felt clean. Electric installation needs some works. They are smoking in the hall of the riad which does not help but we turned the A/C on. The bathtube has a problem. Water is not running out and water gets stagnant leading to a bad smell. The WC was broken. A lot of light enters the bedroom during the night and it was not very quiet. We did not complain but those are things that we expected beforehand. The pictures do not reflect reality. We would not repeat despite the warm welcome from Mohamed.
Mohamed is a very nice person, helpful and gave us a lot of tips. He recommended a good restaurant and was always available and caring. The terrace has maybe the best views in Fez. It is very well located.

United KingdomMohammad made this stay really special for my partner's daughter - she's 9 years old and it was her first time abroad. Mohammad was friendly, welcoming and caring, going all out to make her feel comfortable and at home. The Riad is absolutely beautiful, hands down one of the best in Fez due to it's character. We had a family suite with it's own balcony overlooking the inner courtyard - highly recommended. the view from the rooftop hang out area is also spectacular, looking out over the old city.
