Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

The Riad offers a wonderful place of calmness and quietness away from the hustle and bustle of the neighbouring Medina. Simple wonderful to return to after a trip out, whether long or short. Steven has created some truly incredible lights, candelabra and other art works and creations that are a delight to find all over the Riad which make it such a very special place. Steven and his team are extremely helpful and do all they can to help in any situation - booking trips, taxis and catering for any dietary needs. Bravo.

United KingdomI couldn't say a bad word about it.
Our stay here was better than we could have dreamed of, the Riad is very comfortable with seating all around. A pool on the ground level with tables and sofas around, a large rooftop with indoor and outdoor seating again with a range of different styles. The entire place is decorated from head to toe with art, largely designed and created by Steven the owner. Clearly a lot of thought was put into the beauty of the Riad. It's located right in the centre of the bustling city so it's never too far a walk to any markets or museums which we frequented. Finally the service was above and beyond, Steven the owner was very friendly and a lovely and insightful person. He even surprised my partner on the day of her 30th by playing birthday music and giving her a very thoughtful gift. We spent quality time having food and drinks together. Yassine's attentive service, from delivering food and drinks to arranging excursions and guiding us to pickup locations, was remarkable. His cheerful presence added to the Riad's welcoming atmosphere. Overall I couldn't have hoped for a better experience, 11/10. I would highly recommend this to anyone visiting Marrakech and I hope I get the chance to come back again soon.

Even though it was in the medina, it was very quiet, Yassine and Steven were ever so helpful and friendly, and it has a nice access to shops and the mosque, markets. Very relaxing atmospher and clean. We loved our gifts Steven. Thank you so much Yassine

AlbaniaWe really liked Riad Al Ibtikar. Yassine and Steven are great and they did everything to make our stay smooth and enjoyable. You’ll find everything you’ll need and some bonus spiritual talks with the great host. 😊 We also found a blind, stray cat on the streets and Yassine was so kind to take her in. Her name is Janette and she’s now staying at the Riad’s rooftop. Highly recommended propriety in the center of Marrakech.

The location is perfect, a 6min walk from the main square. The host Steven and Yassin are extremely warm and accommodating. Steven welcomed us to his home upon arrival and Yassin took care of all of our needs during our stay. The Riad is beautiful and the breakfast was great. The first evening when we arrived, Fattis made us Tajines which were absolutely delicious and we enjoyed them on the peaceful terrace. I cannot fault our stay a single bit!

Great staff and owner who genuinely want you to enjoy serenity, a refuge, comfort and great stay. The riad decor is calm with welcoming and cosy living room, the staff alert to offering mint tea when you come in from a tough outing and stressful streets of Marrakech. Its the only shared space, so far of 4 riads and cities/towns, I spent hours reading in. Top floor patio charming with pretty garden and private nooks. Room and bathroom is fairly large; with large queen bed. Ours had added charm of a metal grapevine with handmade lights spanning one wall. (The whole place exudes artistic floral themed touches). Breakfasts are wonderful with variety of breads, egg and jams, yoghurt. The staff super helpful sorting out my many complicated pickup and drop offs, day trips. One of two riads Definitely want to to return to and will miss. I wouldn’t have liked being in Marrakech a tenth as much but for the peaceful and healing vibes here. Recently renovated and Super clean to top it off.

United KingdomWe loved everything. If you want all the fancy mod cons of a 5 star hotel it’s probably not for you but if you want a comfortable and authentic experience with soul you will not be disappointed.
We loved Riad al Ibtikar. From the moment we walked in the door we felt immediately at home. It is a beautiful calm space decorated with many of owner Steven’s creations. Our room was so comfortable and quiet, a world away from the medina outside. It’s a 5 minute walk to Jemaa El Fna and in walking distance of all the popular sites. The food is a highlight and the staff, Yassine and Zahoua could not be better. Steven is a warm and welcoming host. We came as guests and left as friends. We will definitely return.

United KingdomAbsolutely nothing I can identify that I didn’t like! Maybe the fact that I had to leave. 😞
The people are my primary, Steven, Yassine and Zahoua absolutely made the experience. The Riad is beautiful and having the warm welcome we received and being looked after throughout our stay is priceless. Nothing was too much trouble. The transfer ensured we arrived safely without concerns of being lost in the medina, and ensured a smooth departure. The Riad is conveniently located for accessing Jemaa el Fna but set in a location which gives you sanctuary from the busy nature of the square. The souks are accessed very easily, and that’s the beauty of Marrakech. The breakfast was varied, filling and fresh! All served in a calm environment. Not being a tea drinker, the mint tea was delicious and the flair of the pouring is something to behold.
