The Hosts, Ahmed and Azidine are just brilliant and will try to make you feel home in every way they can. Betatiful location outside of the over crowded Ait Benhaddou however just 5 minutes away. The home made style Moroccan food prepared by Ahmed and his wife was absolutely great, some of the best tagine we had during our visit to Morocco.

This Kasbah is simply breathtaking. It's quiet, peaceful and in a lovely location. Breakfast is very tasty and they also offer a traditional home cooked dinner which was great. The host waited for us for an hour on the street, so that he could show us where to park. He took our baggage to the kasbah and welcomed us with a lovely mint tea. However, the best part was to be treated as part of their family; a special thanks goes to Ibrahim who is such a sweet and funny kid. It was great to chat with him! We will definitely come back to stay longer.

The old house with the great paintings was definitely a highlight of our trip. We had amazing dinner and slept very well in this calm environment. The next morning we woke up to the sound of birds. But by far the best thing are the kind and funny owners. The whole family looks into the guests feeling comfortable. We would definitely come back!

Run by a friendly helpful family. Beautifully restored building with great local decoration. Good local food. Well equipped rooms - ours having a balcony overlooking the valley and village. Great place to stay if you are travelling the area especially in this valley which is a nice place to spend some time, before getting the hordes of bus groups as you head further south. The family have spent a lot of trouble getting this right and have done a great job.

    Nothing.

Ahmed and Azdine, brothers hosting at their family’s former home are the warmest and loveliest hosts. The food was amazing, the interior atmosphere was magical, the views during the day and at night were spectacular, and it is just ten minutes from Ait Ben Haddou. Kasbah du Peintre is by far the most magical place I have ever stayed due in large part to these warm-hearted and talented brothers!!!

The magical walk from the road to the house through biblical scenes of red tumble down stone from an ancient Kasbah and cats in doorways and sheep mehhing in mangers and the sound of a distant donkey braying led us into the open doorway of Kasbah du Peintre. Ahmed stood waiting to welcome us with open door and arms and invited us in. I kept the video running.. I wanted to see and hear the reactions of my happy group of friends and family as they entered because I had kept the details as a surprise. The ooh’s and ahh’s as each one explored all the hidden rooms in turn and delighted at the art adorned walls, all original by our host, was a joy to witness and when one of my friends broke down in tears with pure emotion and joy I knew my job was done. Then I explored myself and everything I saw when I chose to book was there.. and much more. The hospitality of Ahmed and his brother the artist, who exuded all the colours of the rainbow in his traditional Moroccan attire was beyond expectation and we felt as though we had arrived and were staying with family. Two nights wasn’t nearly enough and we will return. Ahmed arranged a wonderful driver for us. He came to collect us from Marrakech, drove us through Oasis after Oasis and knew all the hidden gems for lunch and photo viewpoints. He then took us the next day, everywhere! Atlas Studios, Fint Oasis for a short hike and splendid lunch. Then to Ait Ben Haddou before dropping us at the airport in Ouarzazate. His name was ‘Jamal’. A safe driver, spoke good enough English and was fun! What an adventure! Don’t hesitate. Book Dinner at night next to the open log fire. Have breakfast on the terrace. Drink in the views from the balcony whilst listening to the Meuzzin call to prayer echoing from 3 different mosques across the valley. A dream. Dont look anywhere else. Just BOOK!! I highly recommend!

Nothing, it was a great stay.

Our stay at Kasbah du Peintre was truly wonderful. Rarely have I seen such friendly people. The extremely friendly and genuinely interested boss of the Kasbah, Ahmed, the calm hardworking waiter and the artist Azdine. The last one in particular was really great, we laughed so much with him. He also makes really beautiful paintings and watercolors. And that is clearly visible in the Kasbah. The Kasbah is very beautiful, fairytale-like, cozy and the food is great. In short, a super stay that we thought was the best of our Morocco trip.

Wonderful, friendly hosts who welcomed us warmly on our arrival and shared advice and stories on the local area. Even arranged a last minute birthday celebration for my partner which was amazing! The room was beautiful with family artwork, and an incredible view over the valley from our balcony. The food was also the best we had in Morocco, I wish I could recreate their tagine!

    I didn’t get to meet the donkey…

What can I say to do justice to the lovely experience I had here. I travel alone quite often but nothing prepared me for the welcome, hospitality, thoughtfulness and kindness that I found here. Ahmed, wonderful host full of fun and helpful beyond belief for everything! Ideas for things to see, where to go, what to do.. and practical help for getting around with a most wonderful taxi man Sadiq, who drives so well. I’m a painter so let me tell you that, artist or not, you will be flabbergasted by the beauty of this landscape! I think the Grand Canyon must be boring by comparison! However, here there is also Azdine, the most talented and beautiful guy you could ever meet. The eclectic and stylish house , with its welcoming rooms are vastly decorated by Azdines huge dynamic canvases and one feels transported to another time . The house is not designed, it has come together naturally over time with its special details.. a green velvet curtain with tassels, beside an engraved table with several hidden compartments and filled with flowers and saffron or goodness knows what.. I ate very well here too. Fresh fruit and honey and bread and dinners of fabulous tagines and couscous. I got a tonsillitis when I was here. An old problem of mine. However, I was so well looked after. I left this morning however, with a lighter heart, knowing that I will return. I thoroughly recommend staying here to anyone .. A most unique and special experience.

The internet was pretty spotty, but it may have been because the hotel was fully booked and too many people were using it. We didn’t have a lot of hot water, but the owner said there was work being done to fix the pipes coming into the town, so I’m sure the water issue is being fixed.

We loved our stay here. The owners were so friendly and made us feel welcome. The place was beautiful, but you need to walk through a slightly run down part of town to get there. We had a beautiful view from our balcony which was really nice. We opted for dinner there our first night and it was delicious and plentiful. We also did breakfast both days which we felt was a good value. The best part of our stay, however, we’re the owners. They really went out of their way to make us feel welcome. They even did our laundry for free!
