Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomOverall a great stay, but a little bit noisy at night from music and not much vegetarian choice on the restaurant menu.
Nice hotel with lovely pool and garden area including an outdoor restaurant which looks very pretty at night. Helpful staff and good breakfast selection.

FranceA family hotel where everybody makes you feel at home. Freshly baked M'semen for breakfast, central location. The garden and pool are a small oasis of green and blue in this bustly city. It is a city center hotel in a busy noisy city so don't expect silent nights, if you fear noise ask for a room facing the pool, they are more quiet. Also worth noting there is live jazz most evenings, very nice!

United KingdomThe bedroom needs a kettle!!!! - it was rather frustrating not being able to make myself a cuppa when I wanted one. Breakfast was good but the large 3-tier toaster was not switched on on my third morning (maybe someone forgot to turn it on). The hotel needs to provide more choice of teas and mugs if possible. The cups are too small for a typical cuppa. For sustainability the hotel needs to think of ways to have all lights go off when you leave the room - like in other hotels. The TV needs to offer more English-speaking channels - there was just 1 I think.
Room: Nice size and clean ; plenty of space for clothes etc. Nice view over garden and entire pool. Location: Excellent near everything - all amenities close. Pool: Did not use since not warm enough

MoroccoThe elevator, it's a bit on the antiquated side, rather creaky, if you ask me. My room happened to be on the 5th floor, and the noise from that ancient elevator's engine was dreadfully loud. And as for the room itself, well, it was quite petite, just 20 square meters, which felt rather cramped.
I must say, I rather liked this hotel. It's ever so convenient, being just a stone's throw away from the town center. The staff, quite the professionals, they were. And the cleanliness, top-notch, I must admit.

PortugalThe place is kind of outdated but works if you're not looking for something fancy. The room had a terrace but no table, or chairs or anything to really use it.
A central hotel in Tanger, 10 mins walking from the Medina. Big with lots of outdoor space. The pool is nice but mostly for kids in it. - Family vibe hotel Good wifi throughout the hotel They have bar and restaurant inside.

NetherlandsIt wasnt that clean, when we arrived there were sigarets under the bed. There was no savebox in the room which is weird if you ask me, because all the staff can enter whenever they like. The beds were very old and there were no good blankets.

Check in was fast and easy, even though it was late. The lady receptionist moved us to a full bed room the next day, since we were given a room with 2 small twin beds.

United StatesThe room did have a slight scent to it but I think it may have been because of a wood burner to heat the place. However, I do think this place was worth it for the price. We thought about a place that looked more comfortable for twice the price but have no regrets on booking this.
The hotel is old and was definitely a site to see in its prime. That said, the hotel was a great value. The room was large and with a balcony overlooking the pool. While the internet was not fast, it was more than enough for basic work. Late at night, I could even stream an NBA game with only a few issues. I also liked they had an open bar that was pretty busy on Saturday night. Many foreigners playing card games and talking.
