Really nice location, right on the beach. Lovely view from room. Around 10 min Tuk Tuk from main area.

SerbiaThe hotel is very old, needs renovation. It’s very hard to take off the key from the door. Breakfast is nothing special- you have option for Sri Lanka breakfast or Western breakfast (eggs and sausage, jam, fruit OR fruit juice and coffee). Last day we didn’t have time to eat breakfast so we took lunch box. It was just one sandwich with cheese- so disappointing for breakfast that cost 10$ per person. Hotel is too far from city center, around 3-4km. Nothing around hotel. In this part of the beach is also big waves

United KingdomThe restaurant needs a little upgrade. We tried lunch one day (“burger”) and it wasn’t great, there are much better restaurants further along for a cheaper price. Even though we were upgraded the hotel needs a little refurb in places (the bath in the suite wasn’t even connected to the floor properly and when It rained the water came through into the bathroom) There was also a massive pigeon problem on our balcony, where they were nesting in the roof (I know this cannot be helped)
Beautiful beachfront hotel, lovely views and a beautiful pool. The staff were all so lovely and upgraded our room because there was a local party on, which we were really grateful for and it was a very considerate gesture! Breakfast was also great and not far from the turtle beach.

United KingdomPool area furniture, particularly the sun beds and umbrellas, in need of upgrade and repair but recognise that Covid has severely impacted hotel revenue for ongoing maintenance costs. Could do with additional sun umbrellas and bigger ones as not much shade from the heat. The hotel is at the end of Hikkaduwa and has limited bars and restaurants, though it's a short tuk-tuk ride to the busier area. Credit card payments have a surcharge.
Very pleasant beachfront hotel in the quieter area of town. We had a first floor front corner room, which was huge, with a wrap around balcony. The room was very clean and comfortable. Staff were very pleasant and helpful. Breakfast choice was good and the fruit plate was excellent. Even had a special "local" breakfast one day which gave us the opportunity to try new foods. Lovely pool. Buses to Galle and Hikkaduwa town are frequent and cheap and the bus-stop is very close to the the hotel. Would stay here again if in the Hikkaduwa area.

The staff were very helpful and prepared breakfast every morning for us promptly. I am celiac and had a bit of difficulty with food options. The location was brilliant, right on the beachfront👍🏻

AustraliaFound it difficult for staff to help order a taxi as they were going to charge us 25USD one way to Galle. I recommend using Uber as we were able to get a car for 9USD for the same trip. This stay has massive potential if general cleaning is a bit more in depth and deeper cleans are had in room and around the grounds.
Beautiful place to sit by the beach/pool for a few days. Staff were willing to help with our bags which was lovely. Wifi worked very well.

RomaniaThere would be more here that I didn't like. Ever since I arrived, when I had to pay, I was told that if I pay with my card I will be charged 3% more, I wanted to pay in euros and they take me at the same rate as the dollar. In Sri Lanka I did an 8-night circuit and stayed in 5 hotels and in the first 4 I was able to pay by card without any problem, less so at this hotel. During the entire period of 3 nights, no one came in to clean or change the towels in the bathroom. For everything we consumed at the hotel, we were charged 10% more without receiving a receipt from the cash register, just a handwritten slip, even though we paid extra, people expected a tip. On the beach there were 2 broken deckchairs and an equally broken umbrella and at the pool there were a few but still insufficient. The thing that seemed very bad from them was the breakfast that they packed for me on the day I left, namely for 2 people it was like this: 2 slices of bread with a halved slice of cheese and a banana each. When I opened it I laughed, of course I didn't eat it.

AustraliaThe rooms and facilities could do with a bit of an upgrade and our room could've done with a better clean (there were cockroaches getting into the bathroom). Service in the restaurant did take a long time, but the staff were always so friendly we didn't mind too much.
Perfect location if you don't want to be in the extremely busy centre of Hikkaduwa! We loved that the beach the hotel was on was nice and quiet but still great for swimming. The chef at the hotel was extremely friendly and would come out each day to chat to us individually and tell us about the fresh seafood he had on offer that night. Our room was really big and nice and modern. All of the staff were very accomodating, and if you're looking for somewhere to just relax by the pool/beach for a few days Sapphire Seas is perfect.

DenmarkThe hotel seems a bit tired and needs updating. The acoustics in the building are poor and make staying in the restaurant unpleasant. The breakfast is the same every day with only a little variation.
Wonderfull location at the seafront, nice pool, wonderfull staff who did everything they could to make us feel happy. Rooms, bathrooms, beds and balcony are fine, menu card as well.
