This beachfront hotel is a hidden gem. Located in the heart of Hikkaduwa’s beach, I was blown away by its ocean view. One of my favorite moments was when in the pool, admiring the breathtaking sunset horizon, as it rained upon me. The sound of the rain drops meeting the water of the pool was truly beautiful and therapeutic. The restaurant made such the tastiest soup and butter fried shrimp I’ve ever, creating an everlasting impression on my palate and senses. I will be sure to return to the magical pearl of Hikkaduwa.

Breakfast was great, and so were the other meals we bought there during our stay. Everything on the menu was also fair priced. Apart from the that, the pool was great and the staff was very friendly. Despite there being a lot of Russian tourists in Hikkaduwa we didn't meet any in the hotel.

We loved the service. Nothing was too much trouble. Attention to detail was spot on. Staff very well trained and smiled constantly. Breakfast was excellent as was all on the menu that we tried.

A little far from the centre. No kettle for tea/coffee.

Fabulous resort, right next to the beach. Beautiful pool area. We had two different rooms, and both were clean and spacious. Breakfast was lovely. Had a fridge and toiletries.

The resort is very nice, in good location, next to the beach and with clean pool and good restaurant. Breakfest and other food in menu are tasty. As a bonus they offer very good german dark bread for breakfest. Owner and staff are communicative and helpful. We fully recommend to stay in this accomodation.

The location is absolutely perfect. It's right on the beach, but the waves can be big, so you have the pool to cool down if you don't feel like getting sand in your bathsuit. It's on the beach, but it's on a quiet stretch of the beach. You walk for a few minutes along the beach and you hit all the restaurants and bars and all, but the hotel itself is quiet. There is a restaurant, enough chairs and sunbeds for everyone. You have breakfast, move to the pool to cool down, then onto the sun bed. And start again! It's a small hotel, definitely doesn't feel like a resort! I kept extending my stay, because everything was perfect there.

Our whole experience at Pearl Island was amazing. From the minute we arrived we were greeted with smiles and a warm welcome from the owner and all his staff. The accommodation was very clean and comfortable. The food was first class. Unfortunately, due to travel commitments we could only stay 1 night, but we would definitely return.

I found staff a bit arrogant, maybe they were a bit overworked

My room had sea view as well as swimming pool view. Property was very near the sea. Swimming pool and restaurant view of sea were equally good.

Few too many customers were smoking in the (open air) dining room.

The property was right on the beach. It was a short distance along the beach from the centre so it was accessible but not too busy/noisy. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful.

Minor detail but in the evening we had to sit inside (or at the beach side) due to the muskito's on our terrace.

Room and bathroom were convenient but inside the bedroom the lightning can be improved. with the curtains closed it is rather dark. The pool and beach are excellent as well as the food in the restaurant (albeit that pancakes for breakfast will be appreciated).
