Delicious food especially the Sri Lanka buffet. Feeling to be at home at a good friend, lovely personnel and great spot to start a safari. The pool area was great to relax!

We loved everything! Family run accom surrounded by nature! So many birds to watch and we even saw a family of mongoose! The dinner and breakfast was delicious and included in the price! Such great value for money. The room was comfortable and the pool area just amazing! We got a safari organised by the hotel which was a highlight and great value for money. The owner was so nice and chatted to us about animals and the history of the hotel. His son picked us up from Ella and also dropped us down to the beach. Great driver. The hotel was immaculate and the attention to detail around the hotel was really beautiful. We would love to stay again one day. Thanks again :)

Fantastic swimming pool which we used all afternoon and nice deluxe rooms. Great food as booked half board, and they organised a lovely morning safari and came back to breakfast . Definitely recommend :)

We liked everything about Nature House! The food was amazing, the staff very friendly (they even prepared a homemade cake for my birthday!), the swimming pool was great for swimming and relaxing, the safari tour arranged by the owner was great as well! We only stayed for one night but wished we could’ve stayed longer.

This place is absolutely amazing! The rooms are spacious and very clean with comfortable beds. The balcony chairs are nice and the hang out area around the pool is super peaceful. The breakfast was great and the nightly buffet was, without a doubt, one of the best meals we’ve had in Sri Lanka. The host made us feel so much at home, with a relaxed and welcoming demeanor. All his recommendations was great and he really made us feel special. I cannot recommend this place enough!!!

This hotel was the best place we stayed in Sri Lanka. It was immaculate, the room was really big and comfortable, with a lovely terrace space outside. The pool and chairs were also fantastic. The best part of all were the staff, so attentive and welcoming. We also had dinner there which was delicious buffet and breakfast was also amazing. The safari organised by the hotel was brilliant and great value for money.

Lovely quiet location but close enough to the National Park, the pool is fantastic and so are the rooms. We ate at the hotel both nights of our stay and the rice and curry buffet was great. The host was super helpful and friendly, made us breakfast before our early morning safari trip and even drove us to the bus station at the end of our stay. We would 100% recommend staying here!

The wi-fi was the downside of my experience as it did not work too well for me, both in my room and in the swimming pool area. Would also suggest some chilled music by the swimming pool - it really would lift up the atmosphere. But that is just personal preference.

The staff is absolutely amazing and will go out of their way to make your stay as nice as possible and I really appreciated that - it was the driving force of my experience. They arranged a safari, transfer and even provided some help as to where I could fix my phone screen. The swimming pool is the pearl of the hotel and is well tendered to, so are the surroundings and plants. There were enough sunbeams for everyone so it was never competitive. The room is huge and nicely decorated with working A/C and walk-in shower. Mine had access to a corridor/common balcony, which offer an outside sitting area and a lush view of the vegetation. The time I most look forward to was the evening buffet, where one can help themselves to an array of delicious fresh foods and it is safe to say that no one is going to bed hungry.

I love everything.

This is the best hotel in Udawalawe! I’ve stayed here twice and recommend it to everyone! The rooms are clean and well decorated, with all necessary amenities. The location is good and close to the main area. The dinner buffet is delicious and not spicy and the owner is super friendly and helpful! Plus they can arrange safari for fair price in nice jeep with experienced drivers. Finally, they have recently built a pool which is a great addition to the hotel!

I have been travelling Asia for 6 weeks on a budget and this is the best accommodation I've stayed at in that time. The owner is more than welcoming, the surroundings are idyllic, the rooms comfortable with all the little details that make a difference. The pool is welcome and the safari they organise is great. Absolutely nothing!

Loved our 2 days there. The property is easy to find, we arrived by bus from Ella. We booked the half board option and the breakfast and dinner were both really good. Great pool, spacious rooms, bathrooms, seating outside our room on the balcony, breakfast/dinner area, grounds all impecable. We booked our 6am safari through our accommodation, professional guide who was respectful and knowledgeable of the wildlife and breakfast was served on our return at 10am. We were given correct onward directions for our bus to Mirissa.

Absolutely nothing.

The owners were the most welcoming family, especially the father who doted on our two girls and they've raved about him whenever someone asks what their favourite part of the holiday was. His love of nature shone through. The safari was brilliant. We had a whole jeep to ourselves and the driver was so good at spotting animals. The pool was glorious too, and the rooms spotless. I also highly recommend the dinner buffet at the hotel - 1500 per person was probably the cheapest we had in any of the hotels we stayed in Sri Lanka and also the tastiest. Thank you so much for a wonderful stay. We highly recommend to anyone in Udawalawe.

This is a hidden gem run by a passionate family that truly care about your stay being comfortable. It’s authentic with amazing home made dinner and delicious healthy breakfast. They arranged a safari drive for us as well as directed us to the Elephant Transit House which is walking distance. The kids absolutely loved the pool! Great place to stay and unwind in the gently swaying trees of the property. Dinesh and his parents are wonderful kind people and will make sure your stay is memorable.

At the evening and during the day there are many flies so make sure to take an insect repellent cause they can be quite tedious. Also, since we stayed 2 nights here we would have appreciated that the dinner was a bit different on the second day, but I guess it is always the same since it is a Buffet. if you want to eat outside, there are no options in the area. Also, I do not suggest that you go to the elephant transit home. If you are here it’s felt more like a circus.

I like the fact that is very clean. They are constantly cleaning every day. The dinner was also very good and even breakfast for the price we paid it was very worth it the pool area which is recently opened It’s also a nice add-on. The owner is also really nice and friendly, especially his son which works very hard. They also organized the Safari tour for us and we had an amazing and knowledgeable driver with so many elephants as well. He also organized the transfer from udulawa to Mirissa for us.

Hotel owner really helps the guests out by organizing a safari tour or getting to the next destination. Food (dinner and breakfast) were very good. Highly recommend this place to anybody going to Uda Walawa.
