If you want to feel Sinhala's hospitality try Muru's place. You will be amazed by it. Such a kind and generous family who are always welcoming you with a big smile. The house is in a beautiful and calm neighborhood near Blue Beach and Hiriketya beach. And a shop is nearby. I highly recommend Muru's place.

Nice local environment, family super nice. Easy to communicate, friendly, helpful, and respects one’s privacy. There was a super nice grocery near by- with the best beverages and delicious cocunats.

A home away from home! I booked for 4 days and ended up staying for 3 weeks! The most lovely host, always ready to help and make sure your stay is confortable and pleasant. And a great cook too! The space is great, spacious beds, super clean, amazing balcony from where you can admire the sunset, and huge bonus: free access to drinkable water! Playing with the daughters and learning singalese are just a few perks of the stay. If you look for authenticity, kindness and a quiet athmosphere, look no further. Wifi is working almost all the time, and I was able to work remotely from there. Grateful for the time spent at Mutu's place. Miss you all, bug hug!

We liked it all

We booked 3 nights but extended to 5 nights because we enjoyed staying so much. The lady who is cleaning and looking after us was so kind. The whole place is kept so clean and the bed has a good mosquito net. The place has a shared kitchen for guests to use and a table to eat and socialise. Really good value for money too! We will be back :)

Huge bed in the dorm room and very comfy The family were very friendly and so helpful ( helped me with my onward journey and booking tuk tuks) The owner for a good price prepared a really delicious breakfast and even made us pots of tea in the evening. Thank you for a lively stay.

Nothing it suited us 😃

Lovely family run place. A 10 min walk down to Hiriketiya beach in a local neighbourhood. We had a Tuk Tuk, the roads were a bit tricky, potholes, rough tracks etc, the walk is easier. Very helpful lovely family. They even gave us a special breakfast on New Year’s Day ❤️ There is a kitchen you can use and fridge. Shared balcony area. You can take breakfast there but we didn’t as we were up early surfing. Mosquito net is provided over the bed, this is necessary as the room is open at the rafters as are many Sri Lankan properties. You do get ants in the room, but again this common.

The wife of Muru is such a lovely and welcoming person! The room was good, the bed comfy, the fan working and with a private bathroom and a shared balcony to enjoy the peacocks and monkeys strolling around the whole day! A get away from the business of hirikitiya beach, but yet still a walking distance from blue-beach for snorkeling and hirikitya beach for surfing Breakfast was delicious and the laundry was very clean and well-folded. If you have your own scooter or tuktuk, private parking is very large and convenient

We loved everything! Such a lovely family and the nicest place to have the best time while in Hiriketiya. The location is the best, situated between two pretty beaches in walking distance, we felt so welcomed in this special and untouched neighborhood - stay here if you want to get in touch with the sweet locals and experience a stay full of bliss! we loved hanging out on the balcony and waiting for the next bakery tuk tuk to arrive :) Thank you for the great food and laundry, your homestay is just wonderful, wish you all the best! 100% recommend!

I was welcomed with a smile, had delicious breakfasts, prepared with much love, and a great room. Very clean, spacious and quiet. Filtered water available for free use at any time. Beautiful terrace to chill and watch the monkeys on the palm trees. Definitely will come back to this fantastically beautiful place. I felt @home. Small hostel on the second floor of the house. The owners are very nice people. I stayed here much longer than I planned. There is a common area and a comfortable balcony. There is a small kitchen. To the beach 10 minutes walk. This is a fairly quiet area.

The Host are super friendly and the daily breakfast is incredible! The huge balcony is also very nice and it takes only a 5 minutes walk to the beautiful nilwella beach and 10-15 minutes walk to the hiriketiya beach there you can have best Surf Lessons at samiths little Surf school. The place is still very new so there are some things to be done. Like installing gas in the kitchen or wifi. But I'm sure it will be done soon.

The breakfast was excellent. A real Sri Lankan home cooking. The location is also great. Quiet and still not far from the main beach of hirikitiya.
