This place leaves you speechless. The best hotel we have stayed at in Sri Lanka and also in general one of the nicest I have ever stayed in. The aesthetics of the hotel are second to none. Every little corner is so stylish and beautifully designed. From the restaurant, to the beautiful rooms, the main pool with the amazing sun beds, the cute little library, even the guest toilets. Everywhere you look, it's beautiful. But the hotel is not only great from the outside, the quality of the food and service is also outstanding. The staff is super friendly and, above all, super attentive. There is never a wait for anything. When you arrive at the pool, cold water is brought immediately. Also the communication is great. The staff knew that we had a longer journey ahead of us the next day, which is why they offered to prepare a snack for us in advance. Dinner was very tasty, and we would recommend the Indian dishes in particular, they are especially good, although the pasta with basil pesto was also good. Breakfast is also very tasty. Good coffee, incredibly tasty fresh pineapple juice and great sourdough bread with homemade jam. They also offer free yoga and a shuttle service to their own beautiful beach club "the shack" in Mirissa. To sum up, we can only say that everything here is just right and the hotel is absolutely worth the price. We would have loved to stay longer. Thank you very much for this unique stay!

while the hotel itself is very nice, there are a few aspects that potential guests should consider. The location is up in the hills, which makes it difficult for most drivers and taxis to access. I found it very hard to use Uber, as many drivers refused to come. This inconvenience can be quite frustrating, especially if you rely on taxis for transportation. On a positive note, the staff was very friendly and helpful, always ready to assist with any needs. The food was good, though I felt it didn't quite match the high price point. One downside was the presence of insects if you open the door, which can be bothersome. Additionally, the spa was quite disappointing. It was just a room with a bed, and we couldn't even call it a spa. However, despite these issues, it was still a good experience overall. In summary, while malabar hills offers a pleasant stay with excellent staff, the accessibility issues, the lackluster spa, and some other drawbacks make it difficult for me to fully recommend it.

Driving up to the property can be little challenging due to the steep and narrow roads. But they came with electric buggy to pick us up and it was ready whenever we needed it.

The food,views and the vibe is next level. If you want to stay away from hustle and bustle this is the go to place. The staff was very kind and friendly and they do their best to make your stay comfortable.

Some of the room amenities, curtains, walls etc were discoloured and old. Wine list was limited.

The only thing I was disappointed with is that there were no individual sun loungers, despite recent Instagram photos showing them. There were double sun beds which were comfortable but covered so not always easy to get some sun!

The property itself is beautiful and the rooms are stunning with their private pools and incredible views. The staff were amazing, couldn’t do enough for us. Food and cocktails were absolutely delicious, the menu was huge, portion sizes just right. Garden tour was really interesting and bike ride was a nice little extra.

Our stay at Malabar Hill was truly a 5 star experience and our best stay in Sri Lanka. From the attention to details, to the villas, food and staff, everything was perfect. Can only recommend. A big thank you to the amazing staff that did everything they could to accommodate us!

The floor in the room is polished to the point that it becomes slippery. Towel rugs that are placed near the toilet area caused us to slip . No big deal- we just moved them away . One other minor thing- we ordered beef burgers at the pool. Unlike all other dishes that we ate there throughout our stay, it was really bad. But- it's nothing in light of all the other perfect experiences this place offers its guests .

If there is any branch of heaven on Earth, it is in the magnificent Malabar Hill. PERFECTION !!! Villas are amazingly decorated. The furniture around the property- to die for !!! Staff is the most welcoming ever - willing to assist at all times. The pool area- the most breathtaking pool I have ever seen and been to . And all this magic is in the beautiful jungle of Welligama area.

Everything about the resort was remarkable. The location is on top of a hill with an amazing sea view, private pool, and chillout pillows in the villa with privacy and jungle all around us. The design and interior made me feel like the team put a lot of time and effort to make a perfect set up for a luxurious moment. I would have loved to stay longer then two nights, maybe forever. The staff were so kind and helpful, I can't think of anything less then perfection. My favorite stay in Sri lanka by far.

The entire property is designed beautifully with great attention to detail. The villas are well spaced apart for privacy with amazing views and cleaned daily. Excellent breakfast and dinner with a great menu. The staff were so friendly and attentive and provided excellent service all round.

This is a really special hotel. The setting is fantastic - peaceful and set apart, with fabulous views from all sides of the property across 'valleys' and to the sea. The staff are wonderful and so warm and friendly. They create a really relaxing environment where nothing is too much! The managers were extremely gracious and always took the time to talk to the guests and check in on everything. Rooms are large and beautifully laid out so you can be comfy inside and outside on the terrace - either way enjoying the views and your private pool night and day.
