It is a small structure with few rooms. it is managed very well by the staff who proved available to any request. we stayed with half board (breakfast and dinner), everything excellent. the lake view is priceless!

We stayed one night there before going to Safari in Yala. The person was super nice and friendly! We loved our welcome drink. AC and hot water were working well. We did not arrive early and could not enjoy the lake & outside but it was looking very nice! So it is a good place to stay if you are planning to go for a safari.

Wonderful location, goes the extra mile The cottage is situated in front of the lake. We saw a wild crocodile in the distance as well as some rabbits. The room was large, with a good function AC. The shower had extremely good hot water. The food is reasonably priced and nothing is ever “out of stock”, because the chef/owner will go to supermarket to get ingredients. Truly appreciated this. The only con in our experience was that there were a lot of insects outside the area. We were suggested not to eat inside the rooms to also further prevent ants from going inside. Despite measures, we saw a couple mosquitoes in our room.

The views to the lake were fantastic, also from the room and balcony. It is just the best view we had in Sri Lanka. The attention from Nisal and the chef (I’m sorry but I don’t know the name) were excellent, very polite and helping so much. The food was also really good, and the room was really clean. This accommodation is 10/10!

The road leading to the cottage posed challenges for vehicles, particularly at night, as it extended all the way to the very end of the route and was very bumpy. I asked the staff and was told that they had attempted to collaborate with neighbouring hotels to improve the road, but unfortunately, they received negative feedback. Hopefully next time there will be improvements made to the road conditions :)

We were welcomed with refreshing cold beverages upon arrival. They also offer meals for an extra fee, and we decided to try their fried noodles, which turned out to be both delicious and reasonably priced. The service was prompt and efficient, and the friendly staff were also able to provide helpful travel information. The view from the garden was wonderful.

It’s down a long road which is rough. best suited to tuktuk not car but the view once you get there is worth it.

Beautiful view. Lots of birds in the trees. Nisal was super helpful. I made a mistake and booked the wrong room type and my friend was very unwell when we arrived. Nisal looked after us and gave me his number incase we needed help in the night. The breakfast was lovely.

This is really the place to be if you’re looking for a nice base to visit the national park from! As soon as we arrived we felt at home - Nisal and the chef welcomed us with a fresh coconut. Nisal also helped us with everything, drove us around with the Tuk Tuk and just did a great job overall at hospitality, serving us breakfast, lunch and dinner even at the last minute. The room was amazing, so spacious and with big windows and a view on the lake with a variety of birds and even water buffalo to watch. The most tranquil place we stayed at in Sri Lanka for sure! This place is absolutely beautiful. It is on a huge lake (tissa I believe) and view of a Buddhist temple on the other side. The view from the room was awesome. It is a bird watcher's paradise. Because of the water, there were so many waders and water birds. Pied kingfisher, white breasted king fishers, black winged stilts, lapwings, bittern, terns etc. The compound was quiet , peaceful and full of trees. The staff prepared a nice noodle dinner for us. And prepared a packed breakfast very early in the morning for us for the Yala Safari (before 5 a.m). We had only one night there. Wish I had more time. It is a very quiet and peaceful place to stay, relax and enjoy nature.

We had a great stay!

This place has one of the most stunning views we've seen while staying in Sri Lanka! It was so peaceful just sitting on our balcony watching the animals walk and fly by. The two guys taking care of the place were very professional, friendly and accomadating. The included breakfast was amazing too! Definitely worth staying here!

The water in the shower did not reach a high temperature, though this wasn't much of an issue as it was warm weather when we visited.

The view from our room was amazing. It faced out onto the lake and we could sit and birdwatch for hours. The room was a basic standard, as expected at such good value for money. It was clean and comfortable. The host organised various safari/birdwatching trips for us and sent us with a packed breakfast as it was such an early start. For those looking for an amazing deal, this is your place!!
