    1. We’ve been locked outside the balcony, the door stuck and the handler was broken, it tools us 20 mins to get in by ourselves. The room attendant called the maintenance department to fix it. We want to change a room, they rejected and wasted our time waiting for them saw the wood door. After they said it ok and left, the door is still bad, so we had to call them back and try to fix again. We were very tired, so we proposed changing a room again and they still cannot arrange it. The room attendant kept saying 5 minutes but is waste more half an hour to fix it. After the door is ok, they left without cleaning, so it was a mess in the balcony 2. We ordered a pizza that night, but after the door been fixed, the pizza went cold, so in the morning we asked for warm up. 30mins after they collected the pizza I called and asked, they said 5 mins. Then another 10 mins went by, i called again, they said they need 10 mins more to get us a new one. this period, we urged several times, Finally it took 90 mins to get the hot pizza 3 there are beach boy around the beach, it scared us, we cannot enjoy the beach at night 4. Far from the galle fort, not convenient for hanging around at the fort.

    Beautiful large hotel with great pools and rooms. Spotlessly clean and nothing too much trouble for the staff. Special mention to the pool lifeguard who came to let us know that turtles were feeding at the beach. Very special moment!

    The staff was so slow for everything. The spa was not good. The food also was pretty bad. Way overpriced and not a 5 star at all. More like a 3 stars.

    There is nothing not to like about this hotel it’s truly beautiful 😍

    The staff are so lovely very helpful the rooms are very clean and a big size the beds are so comfortable fantastic location the sea view was amazing great size pool and warm.

    The food service is extremely slow, even for Sri Lanka. We waited 1 hour and 10 mins before having to cancel our lunch.

    The bed sheets weren't so clean when we first arrived, we asked to change it, they did. Cups, spoons, dishes in the room, or restaurants, or at the buffet breakfast were always dirty. Lotsss of insects inside the room, tiny mosquitoes, tiny spiders, pretty sure bed bugs because our body was itching from some insects bites when we woke up. Food is not cheap (compared to prices in srilanka generally) , average 20$ per meal per person. Food is superr spicy. All staff (except receptionists) doesn't speak english, they just know few words, so it's impossible to ask them something, we struggled just to ask to get as an ashtray, or to pack out food for takeaway, eventually just left because they didn't do both 😂. Forget going outside thr resort for a walk, or even to walk at the beach, as a tourist, people there will not leave you alone, it's extremely annoying, and they just don't leave, you have to eventually leave to get away from them. Transportation was easy, using uber application, costed us 50$ 2 hours drive from airport to the resorts, the views are nice along the way. At first they said the breakfast is not open buffet, but for the 3 days we stayed there, 2 days were open buffet, and 1 day was a la cart. Before travelling we asked for spa prices and food prices, when we got there the prices were different ( higher ofcourse), but for the spa we complained that that's not the prices you sent, so they gave us the old price so thats good. Every price you see, you have to add 30% to it charge, we didn't know that it was a bit tricky. Nothing much actually you can do there, there is no beach activities or jets...

    The view and nature around the resort is fascinating, the resort by itself with the 2 pools are great, friendly staff, spacious room, super comfy bed, good wifi , AC available dispite the country situation. Near galle fort, which is the highlight of our trip.

    For a “five star hotel” it’s very rundown and dilapidated, with lots of grimy spots everywhere you look. Both pools are covered in green algae. Only one restaurant was open and both the a la carte and buffet experience were very poor, both in food quality and service. There is never anyone at reception, meaning we often had to wait for 15-20 minutes to be seen by anyone, and unless the manager was the one who arrived we’d have another long wait as our request got handed around by dozens of staff who seemed to have very little training in hospitality. Generally the front of house staff seemed well intentioned but very poorly trained, so even though they generally meant well it added a ton of friction to our experience. And being frank it wasn’t always well intentioned - the night before departure we tried to book a transfer back to Colombo at 11am and they told us to come back tomorrow when they’d have an answer. We came back after breakfast at 10am and after waiting for 10 mins at an empty reception we finally got hold of the same person from the night before and it was clear no one had done anything about it. We sat for another 10 mins waiting for her before going downstairs to find out what was happening. No update, so we asked to be updated from the room. 10 mins later we were quoted $95, which was expensive, but as we now had only 30 mins left we decided to accept. After hanging up she then called back and told us it was now $150, which is a frankly absurd price compared to our experience elsewhere on the island. We declined and found another taxi who quoted us $65 (without any negotiation), and once we accepted that the same lady now told us she could do $85. The whole thing felt like it was being handled in very bad faith and left a sour taste in our mouth as we left the hotel.

    The entrance is grand and there are some bold design choices scattered throughout. Our bedroom was large and spacious with a very big and comfy bed. It’s right on a lovely beach, and has two large outdoor pools. And their attention to detail around sustainability is great - really well considered and implemented. And all of the back of house staff (the cleaners, the pool team, porters, transport team, etc) are all lovely and always keen to help. And the manager is excellent - ready to help with anything and offering a high level of hospitality.

    I think the only thing that needs improvement is the coffee, coming from Europe if they invested in a nice machine that makes expresso and cappucino their European guests would love it!

    The location is great, beautiful, we'll manicured grounds on a Rocky beach. Everything is open air for the most part and decor is luxurious but understated. The food and staff were great and my kids loved the swimming pools. About a 10 minute drive to Fort Galle which is a charming town.

    Unfortunately this was not worth the full rate we paid. The service was not up to scratch due to language barriers mainly however the swimming pool, rooms and food are great. Perhaps the hotel was still finding its feet when we stayed… it has great potential!

    I would love to only say nice things about this place, as the location is stunning and the bell boys were so helpful, but in all honesty there were significant issues and we will never be back. The food was unfortunately unredeemable. anything other than the Sri Lankan Currys are not edible. The hotel staff was very uncoordinated and it seemed to generally lack healthy leadership across-the-board. we booked a room with a large bed as we are a couple. They gave us a room with two single beds. We requested that they be connected two different times from two different staff members and no one ever came to alter the room. By the time we came back from an over priced, not tasty dinner we were too tired and simply went to bed and had an incredibly uncomfortable night sleeping separately. we were told to arrive at 2 o’clock for check-in and we were unable to check in until after 4 pm. it seemed this was the case for many people and there were many people angry at the reception desk. having worked in the hospitality business I do understand that is that this was most likely their first big busy time since the reopening of the country post Covid onset. They seemed unprepared. The management was poor and uncoordinated. But what is the most disappointing about everything is that I offered constructive feedback at the end of our stay in a calm manner to the checkout desk, with a manager standing an ear’s distance away, and there was no apology, no recognition of their shortfalls, and no acknowledgment (other than an “I hear you”) of the challenges that were presented to us especially considering we paid four hundred usd for one night in a room with one sub par dinner and breakfast. we weren’t asking for a refund or compensation, a simply apology would have been brilliant and would have shifted the entire experience from one of disappointment and frustration to normal human understanding.
