Large rooms with plenty of space, beautiful vaulted ceilings on the second floor. The outside patios face the pool/beach or lagoon, and are furnished with comfy round chairs or small dining tables and a peaceful ambiance of distant crashing waves or bird song. It's a small hotel so it almost feels like you have the place to yourself. As a woman traveling alone I felt perfectly safe. The beach is pristine and normally completely to yourself. Desk staff are incredibly helpful at answering questions, giving recommendations, and calling tuk tuks. There's no food on site, but it's the perfect excuse to get out an explore locally, with several restaurants in walking distance. If you're stuck working on vacation, the wifi is strong enough for group Zoom meetings (!). This hotel is far enough away from the hubbub of Tangalla to allow for quiet relaxation, but close enough with a short Tuk Tuk ride for all the amenities you could want. Highly recommend.

Such a nice and quiet place which is situated just 1 min walk from the beach. Clean and spacious rooms, the staff was very friendly and helpful as well. Overall I've truly enjoyed my stay at this property and will certainly come back.

A little remote. Easy if you have own transport, otherwise easy enough to book a van or tuktuk pickup.

Ilia and team were great. Quick communication on WhatsApp to confirm details. Highest quality rooms and bathrooms we saw in Sri Lanka. Great pool and outdoor area, including shaded areas. Best restaurant nearby - Priya Moon - and many others a 10 minute walk away.

Very well equipped accommodation. Beach in the immediate vicinity. Accommodation very clean. Fresh towels and bath towels are provided. Host is very friendly and always ready to help. Especially we loved the parrot Ruby. What a beauty. There are plenty of places to eat near the accommodation. We recommend the sunshine cafe or NIMHIRA. In both of these restaurants you can dine excellently at reasonable prices. Both offer breakfast, lunch or dinner. On request, they offer a tuk tuk ride.

We absolutely loved our stay at the hotel, so much so that we decided to extend our visit spontaneously. The room is spacious and clean, with excellent hot water for showering. The air conditioning works well, ensuring a comfortable night's sleep. While the hotel doesn't offer food and drinks (except for complimentary water bottles available at any time), there are several restaurants within walking distance serving delicious meals. The receptionist and the owner of the hotel were incredibly helpful and friendly, and the gardener and cleaning lady were also very kind. The pool is beautifully large, and the loungers are comfortable. It only takes 2 minutes to reach the beach, which is an absolute dream. While it might not be the best beach for swimming due to the high waves, it is practically deserted, offering miles of stunning coastline for leisurely walks. Overall, our experience at the hotel was outstanding, and we highly recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing and enjoyable stay near the beach.

Very nice place near Tangalle. For us best accomodation we used in Sri Lanka. Great and very clean pool. This season is without kitchen services, but you can use their kitchen and make some breakfast or other meals for you.... But very good restaruants are near. Ocean is only 1 minute walk from your room. Room and bathroom was clean. Staff is very friendly, also owner is living there and can help you with everything you need.... Beach is empty, not crowded as some other places. For us best choice. Be

We stayed at the Green Parrot for a single night only, however, as soon as we arrived we could feel the very warm welcome by the owners. The room we had was super spacious with two balconies and we immediately felt like we would love to come back for a longer stay or even workation. Local community also left a very good impression on us, so all in all - brief as it was, our experience was excellent!

Value for money Excellent place for a family stay. Some rooms have a kitchen, but you can always use a big restaurant kitchen by request, with a pretty big swimming pool that you can access without any restrictions. You can get to the noisy ocean in less than a minute by foot. A lot of fauna around; we have seen dozens of birds, monkeys, buffalo, varans. Close to the turtle beach. I definitely would recommend this place.

We have traveled across the south coast and accidentally found this lovely hotel. It is a gem spot. Clean and cozy, ideally located: close to the ocean and far from the noisy Sri Lanka streets. Value for money compared to other hotels we stay at during our trip. Owned by the friendly and helpful guy Ilya who can help you with any information about surrounding places and Sri Lank in general. Recommend for those who are tired of "very nice" and "five stars" Sri Lanka owned hotels that are good only on photos.

The restaurant was closed due to not so many tourists (consequences of a covid pandemic). We knew this before the arrival, Ilya notified us at once. Therefore it was surely not something we were disappointed with. There was a kitchen open for everyone who was willing to cook and several restaurants nearby. So it was not at all a problem for us.

Green Parrot is the best place we have lived in Sri Lanka. Really a gem spot. It is very calm, peaceful and quiet. Felt more like a private villa of your friends rather than a hotel. The beach is close, stunningly beautiful and empty. Nice and clean pool.  Rooms are spacious, spotless, cozy and perfectly thought-through. Look the same as on pictures, even better, which rarely happens in Sri Lanka. There is no need for adapters: all power sockets are adapted to European. No gaps anywhere: no chance for insects to get to a room. No dusty mosquito nets needed. If some small bug finds its way into your room, maybe it’s because of the open window left. But come on, this is Asia, you knew where you were going. There is nothing scary about that.  The host Ilya was extremely helpful and friendly. Always ready to help with any question. Always available. One of the best hosts I’ve ever met.  Highly recommended, you will not be disappointed.

Charming and cozy place. Location is perfect for those who wants to escape crowds and noise: here you will find silence, relaxation, an empty picturesque beach, clean pool. The host Illya is a very friendly nice person, supported us with any request. Our room was nicely designed and had everything you may need. Bed was large and comfortable.
