I may have read the details too quickly but I would have paid more for a view facing the temple rather than a construction site or whatever is behind. Thankfully, I was able to enjoy the rooftop view.

This hotel is situated at the top of a hill in Kandy. Our room had a breathtaking view, was enormous, and felt like a small apartment. The staff were professional and kind. The food was delicious and provided an array of local treasures + other options. And last but not least, the infinity pool was gorgeous.

Had an excellent breakfast with a great spread! The variety was impressive, with options for all tastes—from fresh fruits and pastries to hot dishes. Everything was fresh and delicious, and the staff were attentive and friendly.

We stayed on B level and were waken up around 6am with many noises, not sure what it was but it was very annoying. We also reported this to the hotel staff.

The hotel is well designed and the view over the area is exceptional. The room is spacious and comfortable and clean. We also enjoyed the buffet dinner. Staff was friendly. Overall good stay.

Ask for a room away from the lift/elevator. In every floor room 1 will be noisy as it’s next to the lift shaft. We could hear thuds and bumps with people going up and down, by the time we realised we were already in bed and were only staying one night anyway but this did keep us awake for a while until people had gotten back to their rooms. The rooms are not new so expect a little tiredness, but still amazing value for a wonderful hotel and we’d for sure stay again (in a different room).

The view! The location is ideal, very peaceful in the hills but a short tuk tuk to town. Staff were very friendly and attentive. Pool is beautiful and food was good.

Spacious rooms, delicious food and a beautiful pool big enough to cool off after a busy day of site seeing. We had a fantastic driver called Danu who is the hotel Tuk Tuk driver - he drove us all over Kandy and spent time explaining the meaning behind what we saw. He even took us to the Spice garden where we were treated to a delicious Dahl curry and could purchase products grown from the spice garden itself. Thank you for going above and beyond - next time we will visit the Botanical gardens ~ Thank you Grand Serendib and Danu!

The evening dinner was a bit disappointing both nights we stayed.

The room with the view was fabulous great balcony, infinitely pool, breakfast was excellent and a very nice rooftop bar.

The maintenance of the room itself could have a bit better, furniture seemed to be outdated / not super clean anymore. As well there was live music in the evening at the buffet with a musician who was singing some cover songs but his English wasn't very good. We found this rather disturbing.

We just used this hotel for a night in Kandy before we continued our journey. The rooms are spacious and we received an amazing room with a stunning view across Kandy. But overall a very good location for a short stay. We especially loved the roof top terrace where drinks, food and Shisha are being served. Also the food at the buffet for dinner and breakfast was great with a number of different choices.

The only slight downside was that the pool was a bit cold and could benefit from being heated.

Our stay at the Grand Serendib Hotel in Kandy was nothing short of amazing. We were lucky enough to stay in a corner room, which offered spectacular views over the city. Waking up to that breathtaking panorama of Kandy was a real highlight. The location is fantastic, with the Buddha Tooth Temple nearby, making it convenient to explore the cultural heart of the city. One of the best parts of our stay was having dinner on the rooftop. The food was absolutely delicious, and the ambiance was enhanced by a perfectly curated relaxing playlist, making it an unforgettable experience.

During my stay there was a construction site just next to the hotel and my room ended up being located in the lower floor closest to the noise source. It wasn’t a big deal for me since I only stayed for a night and they finished working in the afternoon anyway! Anyhow if you come in the next one to two months and are sensitive to noise just ask for a room in one of the top floors, should be more quiet and further away from the site.
