Very welcoming host who offered us coconut drink upon our arrival. Accommodation was very nice and clean. Assistance with dinner, which was very tasty and definitely recommendable. After returning from the morning safari, we were provided with a cold towel and fresh mango juice, a true extra touch. Whoever is planning to stay in the area, should stop by Double lake view.

The host, Gemunu and his family and friends were amazing and very responsive. Great location right in front of the lake, you can take a walk around or have the host organize a tuktuk, you can see so many birds, buffalos, bats even crocodiles. It's very peaceful and serene. He also helped us organize the Yala National Park safari. Food was so good, the host catered to all our wants and needs :D Highly recommend!!!

I would 100% recommend staying here! The owner and his family were soo kind and welcoming and organised an amazing trip to Yala National park as well as our journey onwards. The owner was extremely knowledgeable of the local birds and wildlife on the lake and gave us a mini tour on the way into town. The location is beautiful and the food made by his family was some of the best we’ve had in Sri Lanka. Staying with such a welcoming family was a real pleasure!

Everything exceeded our expectations.

This felt more like a homestay than a hotel. The host welcomed us with fresh coconuts, tooks us on a lake tour at sunset, prepared us food for our safari and simply went above and beyond. The rooms were very comfortable and clean and they also had great showers.

Everything perfect.

Thank you to the family which provided us this unforgettable stay here in Tissa. They are so friendly and helpful. Furthermore, very clean room and nice view over the lake especially for sunrise. The room was very big and we felt very comfortable. The safari the owner provided was amazing, we saw many animals. We did a sunset tour. To mention: I twisted my ankle some days ago when we were hiking in Ella and the owner of Double Lake View Tissa went with us to a hospital and drove us to pharmacy. This was so kind. Also the food was very nice. Overall, this stay was one of our best we had in Sri Lanka, we would definitely come back again.

The host was incredibly friendly and helpful throughout my stay. The breakfasts were delicious, and they even went above and beyond by assisting with transportation, arranging a safari, and taking me bird watching. Highly recommended!

It was all good

The family is super nice and always there to make your stay pleasant. He helped us with our transfers, organizing the safari and we did a nice lake/village tour. The house is located in front of a lake where you can see buffalo’s, crocodiles and many nice birds. We saw them all:) also the food is really nice! We can highly recommend this place!

Super clean, amazing and very attentive owner and staff and gorgeous view of the lake. The owner picked us up from the bus stop and showed us around the lakes. He is so knowledgeable about all the fauna and takes time to tell you about everything. We saw all kinds of birds, crocodiles, bats and the water buffalo. The owner showed us interesting places related to local culture and it was fascinating. The food and service were both exceptional. We did the safari tour and it was great but my favorite part of the trip was the Tissa tour by the hotel owner. Don’t miss it!

Nothing, zero, zilch

This is by far the most amazing experience we had with accommodation in Sri Lanka. I cannot stress how important it is to stay here. The family that host are the warmest most kindest people. Do not bother eating in the town which has average restaurants, the food they make here is delicious, clean & so cheap. What a spread ! The owner is super helpful & also took us on a free cruise around the lake. We learnt a lot from him about how the locals live etc. He also gave us space if we needed it, it’s completely up to you. Rooms are lovely, spotless & big with an insane view. Also make sure you book your Safari from here. Our guide had been touring for 10+ years & was amazing with the animals. I could go go on forever ha !

The host family were both very welcoming from start to finish. The owner took us around the lake at sunset to view the bird and wildlife and even picked up some buffalo curd for us to try. Food was exceptional and hospitality first class and very genuine

We stayed here to visit Yala National Park but the best part of our visit was our stay at Gemunu’s lovely guest house. We were treated like royalty and each evening he took us out in his tuk tuk to view local wildlife and sights which was a really special experience. The meals were wonderful, there were always some complimentary extras and were taken on a balcony overlooking the lake. Our rooms were super comfortable with great aircon, comfy beds with mosquito nets and a shared fridge.

We really enjoyed our stay at Double Lake View due to the so kind and helpfull staff, they make you feel so welcomed. The room was perfect for a shorter stay and the food they made were delicious.

From the moment I entered the property, this place exceeded my expectations. Gamunu and his family run it. We were welcomed by his daughter with a fresh king coconut drink and she quickly helped us check in. Gamunu was checking on us throughout the stay to make sure we were comfortable and for anything we wanted. This room has everything you need in this type of property and has a large balcony with amazing views of Debarawewa Lake. The location is ideal for exploring the area and visiting nearby attractions. Debarawewa lake is a great place to walk or drive around, and Tissa Lake is nearby. Our schedule doesn't allow us to try out the food at this property, but we'll come back again.

This is a very sweet and comfortable homestay. The family is very professional as well as kind and welcoming. The rooms are very clean and comfortable. The property also has a good view of the lake. We had to leave super early to visit Yala National Park, and they packed us breakfast, and offered lockers to keep our belongings during our safari trip. Also let us use the room after Safari for a refresh. We strongly recommend.
