As the treehouse is open air, expect to have wildlife in the room. We had a small mouse one night but it did not bother us. Also, the service charge goes directly to the hotel and not the staff so make sure to give them something extra for all their help.

Had an amazing start to our trip here, fantastic and friendly staff who made our stay such a joy. Upon arrival we were upgraded for free to a treehouse with direct views of the beach. Food was delicious and great drink selection. If we return to Sri Lanka we will definitely be back here.

Since it was raining overnight and the roofs of the tree houses are made of wood and fortified dried leaves or something similar, we had some leakage over the bed a few times.

Gorgeous resort with an amazing saltwater pool and stunning beach view! The staff was professional, helpful and kind. The food from their restaurant was excellent! The tree houses look and feel exotic, and we had a free upgrade to a tree house with a terrace overlooking the ocean. Definitely would choose to stay there again.

The Cinnabar resort is built entirely with sustainable materials, using a non-contemporary approach to construction. Their environmental design aims to create an experience as close to nature as possible. Additionally, they have the cutest staff members - three puppies!

Very nice Resort directly at the beach with nice tree houses. Perfect to hang out some days in a quite area. Food is great,daily fresh sea food available. The breakfast is excellent and definetly enough for a day.

There was only 1 sun umbrella working on the beach, therefore only 2 sun beds were able to be used. More umbrellas so all sun beds can be utilised

We stayed in the sky high treehouse…. Magical up so high…. Also lovely to have a swimming pool as the sea is too rough for swimming directly in front of the resort. Fabulous breakfasts!

The restaurant is not good... First time a place succeed to disgust me of fish (not cleaned up properly and eyes and face skin falling down in your plate, yuk) + Very expensive and they don't adjust the bill when something was really not ok I suggest you eat somewhere else :) Even if that's a shame because this place feels like you don't want to leave at all

This place is Amazing! a little paradise, you feel alone on earth. Like Robinson Crusoe Beautiful tree house, exterior bathroom, amazing pool The staff is also super nice I got upgraded to a luxury tree house because the room I booked was not available when I arrive... at first I was really upset but they manage it really well For sure a hotel to experience once in your life! (Careful if you're afraid of bugs, the tree cabins are not totally closed for air to go through and it was kind of an insect party in the room - but that's the deal when you want to experience this Cast Away vibe)

I had booked a suite ground floor and we were given a free house with no walls, open windows.. in the end this was a nice surprise but my partner suffered from vertigo and this should have been better communicated

Promoted wine that turned to be very expensive £34! Some tree houses have unusual finishes, floor made up of sticks, very uncomfortable under your feet and tree branches making an obstacle course to get to the bathroom, very strange

Lunch and dinner meals are quite expensive for Sri Lankan standards. Taste is better in other places for dinner. Massages are not worth their high price. Quality is not high and the location is outside in the middle of a construction side

There was a glitch with the WIFI, due to a change of provider. The staff did all they could to resolve it, so this was only a temporary issue.

This place is fantastic, I found this the perfect place for a stay on the beach. My room was spacious and clean, just far enough, that the sound of the waves was distant and not disturbing. There is an adjoining shady terrace with seats an a hammock (which I made good use of). The personnel are super friendly and helpful whenever needed. The grounds are beautiful with a large variety of tropical trees and other plants and a lovely swimming pool for use at any time of day or night. Breakfast and other meals can be taken in a shady area by the beach. I loved the hike towards the turtle hatchery which takes a few hours along the beach, (best done from about 4 to 8 p.m) which is surprisingly pristine, or alternatively inland (you will be sure to see a few while peacocks) with a few nice restaurants along the way. It would be a good idea to have some moonlight on the way back if possible. All in all a fantastic stay and highly recommend.

Dogs barking and fighting in the middle of the night. Not the hotels fault at all but if your in a treehouse you can hear everything.

Sustainability philosophy could be a bit more efficient. When I ask not to change towels after one day use - the were anyway. Get rid of the plastic straws. Don't add 10% on the bill. Tips are given for the service of the crew - not an extra charge. Think it was a shame when there're refillable water bottles you still have to pay for water. Room a bit mouldy - but we also had a lot of rain. No credit cards taken.

Most beautiful resort with use of natural materials - literally on the beach. Beautiful hang out areas by beach. Rooms are nice and tasteful decorated with what you need. Outdoor toilet and shower. Fridge, safe, coffee/tea maker, hammock on porch No doubt the most beautiful resort on Tangalle Beach
