Terrible reception. Didn't know about our booking. Terrible English. Couldn't answer our questions about transports, or gave false answers. When we asked about bicycles, supposedly a service of the hotel, they just called a rental service and gave us the phone. At checkout, they tried to charge more than twice the price. When we protested they said another price, still too high. Finally they pretended the card machine didn't work. It magically came back to life when I said I would only pay by card. Outside of the reception, public parts have a terrible insect problem, the walls are literally covered by them. At night they become active and you have to walk through clouds of them. It made us too uncomfortable to use the pool. Rooms are okay, except for a stuck curtain and faulty lightbulb. Restaurant was closed for dinner. Breakfast was okayish, but missing any tea or coffee. Overall terrible value for the price, higher than others in the area.

There is no explanation that the last floor is under construction which a bit destroys the view. But as long as you stay in Sri Lanka you understand that this is normal.

First impression dropped with the way Security Guard responded at the very first time. When a customer comes, all should responded enthusiastically, happily and cheerfully. I did not like the welcome drink served. It is sunquick. Did not expect a hotel to serve sunquick. Should have been a fresh juice. Check in was not smooth. Receptionist should be more welcoming. They bag boys were on casual dresses and slippers and would be better to have a simple uniform. Water bottles were not kept in the room, Mini Fridge was on but nothing was inside. wasting electricity. No tissues or paper serviettes kept inside the room. TV was not working and it is too small.

I like the breakfast served.

This hotel has seen its best years some time ago.... The building would need a thorough refurbishment. It also doesn't contribute to the beauty of the place that there is a started (but stopped??) extention construction work of one or more floors. The room was not clean when we checked in: dust and small (insect) exuviae everywhere... No toiletries, and just a rest of toilet paper... Although we booked a long time ago, the room was not adequately prepared to receive guests... it looked as if staff were surprised that someone wanted to check in...

The location is not bad, about half way between the "old" bus station (note: there is somewhere also a "new" bus station) and the city centre (clock tower area). Walking distance to the old bus station and also to the city centre (clock tower area). The swimming pool is a good feature.

everything from service, room facilities as there were no towels in bathroom and took more than 30 minutes too get after 3 reminders and that too provide damp towels and when I refused to accept ended giving me pool towels. Initially refused to accept credit card saying machine not working, but then when I refused they got machine working!! Understand a new owner has taken over with political connections who has terminated all staff and hence lack of professionalism in this property.

Very dirty and unmanaged property. Rooms are old and tired. Higher floor left unfinished in construction stage. In bathroom window is not covered. Insects and lizards were able to get to the room. No room amenities available like shampoo or shower gel. Definitely not worse the money!

The only good thing about this tired hotel is location. Close to all attractions and sightseeings. But I guess as every place in Anuradhapura.

We booked two delux bedrooms with balcony one is quite good but other one not, that room tv, and some lights are not worked we called the reception but nobody was there to fix it. Both two rooms has dust on the tables and cupboards. And also the staircase is not cleaned there is full of dust and spider nests. They only maintaining frontal. Obviously WIFI is not working because of signal problems. Breakfast is not buffet they just served what they made. We had string hoppers, dhal curry, chicken curry, coconut sambol. The coconut sambol is not made from pure grated coconut it's tast like 'polkudu', and they have white rice with same curries. We had fresh banana, pineapple, watermelon, papaya slices for dessert. And also bread, butter and the toaster, tea and nescafe packets also were there which we have to prepare ourselves.

The location is very calm, quite place and close to every sacred places. Bed, bathroom and towels are clean, the big room with all inclusive equipment. They served soursop for welcome drink and they welcome us warmly.

The pool was nice. But it’s so disappointing to say but we were given used pool towels. They had not kept any towels in the room as well. When I asked for the towels they said they are not dried yet.Food was ok

Receptionist could have addressed the customers in a pleasant manner. The staff doesn’t know to communicate properly with the customers. When I contacted the receptionist and ask for the menu, he told me that the staff is in a meeting with the owner and they can’t come to the room because of that. Breakfast is not up to the standards and they offered only some string hoppers and fruits. At the checkout also, they didn’t accept card payments.

On the positive side, pool was clean and the place is convenient to travel.

Great for a quick stopover with good sized rooms. Good pool and good breakfast nice and close to town and the ancient city (both a brisk walk way). Right near the lake which was excellent.
