The rooms were big with all the facilities provided. We’ve stayed in few hotels but the bathroom in Ariya was really great and the shower was exceptional. The staff were extremely friendly and so helpful. They have made our choice of food and packed breakfast for our early morning safari.

The host is simply amazing, he helps you as he can and he can arrange delicious dinner and amazing safari. About the latter, we saw three leopards and a bear thanks to the best guide in Yala!! We recommend to book some days in advance to hav him as a guide :) The room is clean and new, spacious and private! Truly recommended ;)

This has been one of our favourite places to stay in Sri Lanka. The host and staff could not have been more friendly and helpful. The room was a great size and very clean and comfortable. We had an evening meal there which was very tasty and would definitely recommend trying.

First things first, Indika the host of the Ariya Tissa is awesome! Super friendly, helpful and definitely a chief cook. If you miss out the dinner, you will make a huge mistake. Everything is fresh and he even prepares his own spices. The meals are generous with an exceptional taste. Indika also arranged a Safari for us for a very reasonable price and he made sure that we have an experienced driver with good communication skills to get the best experience in Yala National Park. He also arranged a taxi to Ella after the safari for a nice price (and we were very familiar with pickme and their prices). The room was super clean and spacious and the location is even better than on the pictures. It is definitely worth it to stay here. Very good price for a perfect stay!

Nothing! Loved everything

The rooms were very clean, modern and spacious. The bathroom was the nicest we’ve had in Sri Lanka with a very hot and powerful shower. The hospitality from the owner and the other staff was genuinely amazing. They were always checking to see if there was anything we needed and also arranged the safari for us, providing us with food and water for the safari. We stayed two nights and had dinner at the hotel on both occasions. The food was delicious and both meals were two of the best meals we had in Sri Lanka. Couldn’t recommend enough! We chose the Sri Lankan breakfast and it was also amazing, the best of all the breakfasts we had. If you are staying in Tissa, I really really recommend you stay here. It was faultless!

The only thing I could find is that the room does not have natural light coming in but we had a little patio with a table to enjoy the outside anyway.

First of all, the hospitality we experienced was next level! Everyone was just so helpful, friendly and caring. We organised our safari via the hotel and this was also perfect, extremely competent guide. They also provided bikes and we really enjoyed biking around the lakes. The room was big and modern, had everything we needed (fridge, kettle, big bathroom). I would also definitely recommend having dinner there, the food is better than most restaurants we've eaten at. I would 100% recommend this hotel and happily stay there again, such a wonderful experience.

Hotel is located in a nice calm environment. Even though the construction wasn't finished by the time i stayed there, the room was really comfortable and totally worth the money. Host was also really friendly. Recommend place to anyone who is travelling around Thissa area.

At this price absolute bargain.

Very friendly comfortable place down a quiet lane but central to the town. The owner is so nice giving us advice on our itinerary. He found out about our onward bus and took us to the bus station for our departure. He is an excellent cook and the evening meal was delicious. The room is very spacious as is the bathroom. All in all exceptional value for money. Highly recommended.

No complaints - we loved every minute

This has been our favourite stay in Sri Lanka so far. The room was spotless and the A/C was such a relief! The owner and his family were so hospitable, they were always a step ahead and were so attentive and kind. I can only hope for the surrounding area that they open their restaurant up to non-guests as their food is the best we’ve had in Sri Lanka. Dinner is charged extra (which we’re beautiful homemade curries, rice and roti options), there are also yummy fresh dessert options, and breakfast was included in the price of our stay which was also delicious!!! They also arranged our safari in Yala for us which was a really great day out. Our driver was super knowledgeable and tried really hard for us to try and see the leopards (we didn’t this time but it was still a great day!). Definitely stay here, you will love it!

Wonderful stay, the hosts were so kind and made our one-night stay perfect. The bed was very comfortable and the room spacious and clean. We had dinner and breakfast, both very delicious and generous portions. They were always going the extra mile, asking what we wanted to eat or needed in the room.

We didn’t not like anything. Everything was perfect!

This place was our favourite hotel of our entire 10 month trip around South East Asia. The rooms are absolutely spotless. Huge living area, with a massive bathroom, very large comfy bed with pillows and duvet, and ice cold air con. The service in this place is unmatched. Every staff member was incredible and very professional. Owner organised a full day Safari at Yala for us, with the greatest tour guide we have had our entire trip. Even made us breakfast and lunch to take. The food at this place is a must. We ate here every day, and it was hands down the greatest food we have ate in Sri Lanka. All cooked by the owner, who is a fabulous chef. Property is situated very close to Tissa Lake, with free bicycle rental. Cannot recommend this stay enough. Hopefully we will return one day. Thank you to all the staff making our stay so great. I wish you all the best!

Very clean basic room. Friendly helpful staff and delicious food. Very helpful in organising safaris and getting suitable guides and drivers. The two buses we had were excellent for birds which is what we wanted. They arrived in good time and were very caring of our needs. The hotel was very kind.

Everything was great, this is my 2nd time at Ariya Tissa and Indika and his family made us feel absolutely welcome the entire time. The property is clean, modern and chic and has everything you could possibly need for a stay in Tissa if you're going for a yala safari ride the next day or purely came just to explore Tissamaharama. They are also able to provide you with all meals aside from breakfast, all meals being absolutely delicious! Thank you so much for everything Indika and family and we will definitely be back again! ❤️

A modern property, family operated. We arrived early, and the staff made sure we could hang out there until the room was ready. The staff arranged our safari tours at short notice, and ensured we had breakfast to take with us on the early morning safari. The staff were all awesome!! in particular, Indika. He went far and beyond to ensure all our needs were met. He is also an exceptional cook!!

This was the best hotel in our stay in Sri Lanka. From the moment we came we felt like at home. Staff was really amazing, welcoming they also gave us welcome drink. Rooms we clean, big, everything was new. Bed was super comfy, AC was working really good. I would definitely recommend eating here and having some of their refreshing drinks both are really amazing and for good price. They were constantly checking if we need something and if we wanted something they brought it quickly. The service here is absolutely amazing and staff is so kind. They also handled our safari tour which was unforgettable experience. They made us great offer so we couldn’t say no. They have really experienced driver. He knew exactly where to go to find every animal possible. He also explained everything in detail, it was very informative. They packed also water and food for us for safari tour which was really nice. Overall this was absolutely terrific stay and we regret not to stay longer because this hotel and staff is just amazing in every aspect. I would recommend everyone to book this hotel. Be aware there are Lot of mosquitoes in that area so prepare yourselves for that.
