Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaPerhaps a small criticism is that a lot of tour vans/tourists congregate across the road. I can get noisy. It’s not for too long and doesn’t go late into the evening.
Location, team members, ambience especially at breakfast and dinner

United StatesThe style is traditional with upstairs rooms with no elevators. Didn’t like swinging “bar” doors into the bathroom. There are lots of steps down to restaurant and onto included sunset boat ride that might be difficult for those with mobility issues.
Wonderful location next to the river with a smiling, helpful staff. Breakfast was delicious and plenty of it with a terraced cafe on the river. Comfortable bed.

ThailandThe river cruises currently leave from just in front of the hotel and the package tourists are like a screaming mob of savages. Fortunately they are being moved further downriver.
This was our second time staying at this property. Truly the most professional, courteous staff I have ever encountered. The rooms are beautifully furnished and the breakfast setting is relaxing and excellent quality food. Wonderful experience every time.

United StatesWe loved everything about the property. Perfect stay.
We loved everything about this hotel. Location is a 10. Close enough to main part of town but just far enough for peace and quiet. Our river view room was the nicest place we stayed in our two weeks in Vietnam. Large window and balcony with views of the colorful boats parading along the river all day and night. Really large bathroom also. The staff were all so lovely and kind and helpful. Aimee was so sweet to us. In a way I felt like she was looking after us. The rooftop pool and bar were just as beautiful as the photos. The size of this boutique hotel was perfect. Oh and the free bikes were so great.

United Statesthere were vans and vans of chinese tourist that were dropped off in the morning and at night and when this happened- they were extremely LOUD, and when i say LOUD, they were YELLING and showed lack of respect for the people around them. It would have been nice for someone to teach them a little etiquette and let them know to keep their voices down. but none-the-less, the hotel with its view of the mekong river on your terrace made us book another night
the front desk, Somphone was very helpful and kind in arranging all our activities with the hotel - like the caves and waterfall which was WAY cheaper than booking.com. Somphone recommended we do the 2 hr private boat ride to the cave vs the 1 hr van ride and wow, doesn’t even quite hit the mark. the cruise itself was a excursion all on its own. we saw fish farm, people washing their clothes in the river and the natural beauty of both mountains sandwiched us as we went down the river was the best experience. the other excursion Somphone arranged was to the waterfalls-when you get to the fall, there is 542 steps leading to the top of the waterfall was well worth it and zip lining was an added bonus. the hotel itself is really nice. we stayed in coconut 3 which is a 2 bedroom suite with a balcony overlooking the mekong river. we enjoyed luang prabang so much we decided to stay 1 more night but unfortunately the room we were in was already booked but Somphone took care of us again and set us up in the 2 story room overlooking the mekong river as well. and it also had a terrace balcony. both rooms, as long as it had the view of the mekong river is breathtaking.

KenyaNothing, everything was great.
The place looks just like the pictures posted, near almost all the activities one would wish to do in Luang Prabang. The staff are professional, warm and very helpful especially Sompo and Khai at reception. They organized most of my tours and had good rates and recommendations. The place is near the lane where Alms are given so it’s convenient, got a complimentary sunset cruise on day 1 with a glass of wine. The mini bar drinks are also complimentary and my room was huge with a sitting area with different fruit bowls. Most comfortable bed and pillow. Would stay here again if I visited Luang

AustraliaHard to fault really but one thing is that the room didn’t get super dark even with all the blinds and shutters closed. Wasn’t really a problem for us, we still slept well, but would have preferred more of a block out situation.
Great location overlooking the Mekong River and only a few minutes walk to the main street in Luang Prabang. We had a balcony room (Tamarind 1), it was so lovely to be able to sit and watch the street and river life action. Breakfast is at their restaurant which is directly over the road and right on the Mekong, great breakfast menu and the staff were always ready and waiting to take our order. Every day the glass water bottles that were supplied were refilled, cutting down on plastic bottles, such a great environmental initiative! Would definitely stay again 😊

United StatesDon't take city tour through them. It is too expensive for what you get. The hotel was gracious and discounted some of the cost. Nevertheless, for Laos a half day tour that ended up only 3 hours should have been much less. Ultimately, it was our fault for agreeing to this. The hotel handled our concerns well. Also if taking river boats, realize that folks with limited mobility may feel uncomfortable going down and boarding the boat as the path is not all paved and we once had a harrowing departure that damaged my knee.
breakfast terrace was great, room was spacious with good air conditioning. They were able to arrange a great boat excursion to waterfalls.

Beautiful hotel in an old style building. Our room was on first floor and we had a view of the Mekong River. Breakfast was great with a good selection of hot and cold dishes made to order. The hotel provided complimentary water which you could refill anytime and daily fruit and snacks in the room. All the staff were exceptionally helpful and friendly and organised a couple of trips and taxis for us during our stay.

SingaporeThe hotel location is perfect to explore the Luang Prabang old town. There is also a beautiful hotel restaurant overlooking the Mekong River, serving delicious food - sumptuous breakfast and best mango sticky rice I have ever had! The rooms themselves were spacious, clean and comfy. Comfy beds with mosquito nets. The decoration is very tasteful. The staff was very kind and helpful. The hotel management are also thoughtful and detail oriented. And the complimentary sunset cruise was a very nice touch! Overall, a perfect hotel to explore Luang Prabang!!
