The city of Temples and a serene location to enjoy it from.

The food was very expensive compared with the local restaurants. so we ate out a lot more than we had originally planned as the differences were stark. Next to the hotel spa, someone had a rave or loud music party and this ruined the spa experience, the hotel is surrounded by locals, they don't have control over what they do so not blaming the hotel just highlighting it can happen, as this isn't a remote location and the walls are not brick they are wood.

The staff were really helpful considering that the airport lost all of our luggage, they found us a driver to take us out to the town so we could buy some clothes. The chef made us a special Christmas vegan meal which we had in our garden at the back of our room. The hotel has free bikes which makes exploring the city very easy.

Wonderful property but needs a bit more polish to service and maintenance

Overall service experience wasn't at the level expected for 5* or the price charged. Some elements of maintenance were also not where they needed to be e.g. the decking in the garden area was on its last legs, and the bed frame was extremely creaky and clearly in need of nailing back together. Loads of staff (far outnumbering the guests) and all very friendly and trying hard to please so it pains me a bit to write this. But there was a real lack of coordination and communication which made breakfast and dinner service a bit comical / awkward. Constantly being asked the same thing by 2 or 3 staff, having knives and forks taken away just after someone replaced them, being awkwardly hovered over 15 seconds after being passed the menu, etc. It just kept happening. The staff themselves have the potential to be great but really just need some more training and proper supervision, and someone to take overall responsibility for outcomes rather than everyone “staying in their their lane” leading to things like finished drinks and room service plates being left to fester in the sun all day despite various staff passing them literally hundreds of times. We never saw any kind of supervisor doing rounds and the front of house staff (who were very good) are quite detached from the accommodation and restaurant due to the layout of the place.

Wonderful and sympathetically converted and preserved colonial compound, beautifully kept gardens, and lovely swimming pool. Very nice pool villa garden suite, comfortable bed and spacious room. Well located... perhaps 5 mins further from town on foot than would be ideal, but with a complementary shuttle car service to/from the night market area and/or sister 3 Nagas property. Some nice local cafes and small retailers in close proximity worth exploring if you don't want to go all the way into town. Generally very quiet and peaceful, but bear in mind the suites all back onto a developing residential area (immediately behind a 10ft wall which surrounds the compound) so there may well be general noise or even construction work taking place very nearby. We also had someone burning trash one night. Nothing the hotel can do about this but just something to be aware of if you're expecting utter tranquility. Overall a very enjoyable stay despite feedback comments below which I hope are just down to the disruption from Covid and getting everything not quite being back up to speed yet.

We were not impressed with the food. We had dinner there once and it was mediocre. Breakfast selection was ok

Absolutely wonderful staff, excellent service, our room (heritage suite), beautiful gardens, great pool, good location- within easy walking distance to most attractions, good shuttle service.

The pool tiles were slimy and had algae. The room key was tricky to work - kept sticking. The bed on 1 side would squeak for a couple times more after each turn of the body! Also the hotel was building/repairing the wall and I could see workers overlooking my outdoor bathtub!

    The spacious property. Breakfast.
