Everything about this resort is amazing! It is a beautiful setting slightly on the outskirts of the town overlooking the Mekong River (they offer free transportation by tuktuk at all hours) into town. It is green and tranquil and lush with beautiful old reconstructed traditional houses that have been modernized on the inside and are very comfortable. There is an enormous very modern pool which is a delight to swim in at the end of a hot day. Breakfast is extremely generous and delicious (and is included ) and is served on a covered terrace overlooking the river. The terrace is equally a delightful viewing spot for the magnificent sunsets. And the best part of the resort is the staff! They are kind and helpful and basically just delightful people. Henry the owner couldn’t be more accommodating and generous. He has run resorts around the world for many years and is very professional and easy-going at the same time. On the Mekong Resort is excellent value for the money especially in low season! I would highly recommend staying here for as long as you can. We found it very difficult to leave!

Nothing at all, just that I couldn't stay longer!! They are doing a few renovations around the place but it wasn't disturbing at all, and will be awesome once all done 😁

Absolutelty everything! From the moment I arrived, I was so well looked after. Greeted with a cold drink and flannel. The amazing staff took my bags while Henry (the owner) and I had a chat, then the lovely Nee took me around the grounds so I was familiar with it all. Honestly I could write a novel about this place, it was fantastically clean, the breakfast was amazing and every one of the staff was so friendly and kind, it's really just one big family - I don't even like referring to them as 'staff'! I even have a great photo of us to put in a very special handmade frame that Nee gave me. I feel beyond blessed to have stayed here, I will for sure be back one day to share this place with a friend. Might I add, the new pool that has been built is the best pool I've ever swam in, clean, warm & doesn't feel like you're swimming in chemicals (added bonus of it being open 24/7!). The views, the sunsets, the cheap mini bar, the free bikes! And the free shuttle to take you into town was an added bonus, awesome because you get the best of both worlds being slightly out of centre! I love what Henry does for this resort and the community. Don't hesitate to stay here!

Absolutely nothing

Henry and the staff team were excellent, nothing too much trouble. Accommodation was also very good, wide variety in type of rooms. Henry even sorted a ground floor room for my father, which I had forgotten to request. Lovely breakfast by the river. We had a lovely time at the hotel, we especially liked that it made use of traditional buildings, with modern conveniences.

Nothing! I would not change a thing

On the Mekong exceeded expectations and then some. Henry, Nee and team could not do enough to make us feel at home. We relaxed the moment we arrived and felt like part of the family. The resort itself is stunning and has so much character. The location is quiet yet it’s so easy to get to town with free transfers. We are so happy we stayed here. They’ve achieved the sense of community you get when backpacking but tailored to all kinds of travellers.

It was often noisy, either due to loud music coming from nearby celebrations or in-house roof repair work.

Would have been great if it were easier to get to the train station from here, but that's not their fault.

Love that the pool was open all night and that you could ask the staff for anything you need. Even last-minute motorbike rentals.

Almost one of a kind resort on a beautiful section of the Mekong river, amazing staff, we stayed in honeymoon sweet which was super spacious and comfy with a nice modern tv Swimming pool just completed which is beautiful

Very happy to have choosed this resort. The best of our trip between Vietnam and Laos. The team is so nice : Nee, Grace & her sister and all the team are very nice and available. Enjoy, smile, very good foods, good services, comfort & friendliness will be the result of your booking, so take care themselves too. The resort is very comfortable, typical with a good localisation (Mekong). I recommend a lot, really. Thank you all the team for your very good work.

It was such a great place. The view of the Mekong was incredible. Henry treated us like old friends. Free shuttle services were available and we had great recommendations for places to eat and to see. Highly recommended.
