Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United Arab EmiratesThere were flies inside room. Pool was not available for use.
Both the receptionist Noor and the other guy were exceptionally supportive. The free airport transfer even after checking out was lovely.

KazakhstanThe double bed was comfortable but small. A group's dinner the night before was still on the table in the morning, it had not been cleared away for breakfast. The road outside was being dug up - not the hotel's fault and it didn't affect ourselves much, but could do others.
Room was clean and comfortable. TV and Wifi both worked well. Bathroom was clean and hot water worked no problem. A variety of options provided at the breakfast buffet. Nice views over the pool and outdoor areas. Staff were friendly and helpful, adjusted out check-in time due to delayed flight. Located in suburban region, 20-25 mins from the airport, near to bazaar and main road, good transport links, about 30 mins into city centre by car. Overall, good value for Almaty.

BelgiumNot a 4* hotel (for western standards) by a longshot. I would rate it 2* at most. Everything you need is there, it's just all very basic. The curtains don't block the light. Breakfast lacks fresh bread, though this appears to be a common denominator in the whole region.

CanadaHousekeeping service has lots of room for improvements. There were towels missing and bottled water forgotten. Bathrobe for the swimming pool was missing one despite of reminders. The swimming pool was nice, but because of hot days and that it's open to the public for a fee it can get noisy and crowded.
Staff at reception very helpful, hotel offered free shuttle to airport. We had a midnight flight and the hotel offered use of pool and hotel facilities free of charge, which makes our last day in Almaty much more comfortable. Kudos to the hotel and it's staff.

United Arab EmiratesBreakfast used to get over before time and they never recharged the items. The room bed was quite small and toilet could be cleaned better.
Hotel staff was amazing, couldn't ask for more. The hotel in general is a gem, old building quite beautiful and has everything one can ask for in the price they ask.

IndiaThe staff at the reception keeps on changing every day in my 5 days of stay 4 different people were at reception. Only nikita was the one who felt genuinely helpful. The other guy was not even trying to help. We came back from a 15 hours tour at around 2300 in the night. We asked if we could get something to eat. They said the restaurant is closed. I requested them even if they could give me a tomato or a cucumber m ok il have that and sleep rather than sleeping hungry. He said sorryy the kitchen is closed. They say its a 4 star hotel but dnt have a night menu. Neither do they keep tea coffee packs in the room. I had booked a junior suit still in 5 days no room service was done it was disappointing. The only good person was nikita who genuinely tried to help us the other guy told us to our face when i asked if you want me to sleep hungry he said yes maam sorry. M not sure if i will visit this place again.

IndiaThe hotel is located away from the centre in a not so upmarket area . It takes about 20-30 min to the city centre . Nothing much to walk around and see.
Very big comfortable rooms. Free airport pickup. Very helpful staff . Always greeted us with a smile . Rooms are spacious and have a very rustic feel. Clean . Great breakfast with lot of Kazakh delicacies . The hotel has a great restaurant outside and a superb cafe with Great coffee and desserts . There are enough shops outside for basic shopping . This is also not very far from the airport.

India1. Staying at Saraishq, one ends up spending a lot of time in the Taxis travelling towards the centre of the city as Almaty traffic is awful in the absence of any flyovers etc. & due to the long wait times at the numerous traffic lights dotting the city. 2. Money spent on Yandex Go Taxis can be high vis. a vis. staying in the centre of the city where you wouldn't need to travel in taxis everyday to just get to the city centre. However, the flip side is that Sariashq is not a high-rise structure and is quite spacious while the city hotels are buildings with less space. You win some (sense of space in Saraishq) & you lose some (travel times + taxi costs) 3. Surprisingly, Saraishq doesn't provide "Coffee" sachets in the rooms though they do provide Tea sachets & Electric Kettle. I had to buy my own Coffee Bottle from the Super market. I found it this ommisson as an oddity given that coffee sachets are quite inexpensive to be provided. 4. I stayed in the Junior Suite (the largest suite at the property) and while the bedroom & the living room were quite spacious, the Toilet-Bathroom is "super cramped" :( The shower cubicle is "super super cramped" and one wonders why did the management decide to make the toilet so "tight" given that they had "so much of space" available in the Suite that could have allowed for making the toilet slightly bigger than what it is.
1. The staff at the Reception was always smiling & willing to provide recommendations related to - a. Places to see in Almaty b. How to find transportation etc. c. How to use Yandex Go & MapsMe Apps. 2. The availability of Water Dispenser 24x7 in the Reception Area was convenient 3. The outdoor swimming pool was heated & thus very comfortable to use at night when it gets quite cold in Almaty.
