Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThere was nothing that was a problem, everything was great and easy to do.
The location of the hotel is excellent and has a wonderful view from the top of the cliff overlooking the sea. All of the facilities are excellent. We didn't have time to use the pool or spa facilities, but overall it was clear that it is a very highly equipped hotel. I think it is a very good choice for couples or families with children. We travelled by car and the hotel was easy to find. There is a large car park outside and undeground parking if you want to keep your car out of the sun or rain. The hotel also offers a shuttle service to the train station if you come by train. The first impression of the hotel is very good, the lobby area is huge and very bright. The check-in and check-out was super easy and the reception staff were very polite and friendly. We had a great room with an amazing view. Everything was very comfortable. There is a convenience store in the floor below the main lobby if you need to buy anything. The breakfast was maybe a little more expensive than I was expecting, but it was a buffet and there was a large choice of things to eat, both Korean and Western food and the service of the restaurant staff was efficient. The restaurant was also very spacious. I also really enjoyed walking around the gardens in the morning, they were very peaceful and very beautifully maintained.

AustraliaSome staffs are rude. Everything is money. If you would like to check in earlier, they will ask you to pay extra even if you are arrived 30 minutes earlier. Staffs will lie to you as the room is not ready but if you said you don’t mind to pay, they will check you in and give the key straight away. If you are not returning room key upon checking out, they will charge you because they are thinking you lost the key. A lot of restrictions, if you bring seafood, and the hotel found it, they will charge. If you want to use facilities almost everything needs to be paid. If you are looking for or expecting treating or relaxing with hospitality, definitely not this hotel. If you are looking for a hotel for sleep only, then maybe

Mongoliabuffet restaurant's food choices were very poor because we cant eat seafood but there was a lot of seafood. And my son entered by 50000won but he could not anything eat ☹️ and we couldn't go out and buy food because it's on a high mountain where there's no other place to eat, so we bought noodles from the store. I really didn't like it
aqua park was good, my kids had fun at park

South KoreaThe pool is not free as suggested on the page - it costs 20,000 won as guests to use the pool and the spa (non-guests have to pay 30,000 won to do so), and there was no option to just use the pool. There is no seperate path down to the beach road, so you have to walk in the road which is pitch black at night, if you want to travel down on foot. The pecan pie from the bakery is very dry.
The television in the room was gigantic. Plenty of storage space in the room. Lots of parking space. Really nice views from the roof gardens and the roof top lounge.

IndonesiaElevators were not linked to coordinate. Total 4 elevators were there but 2 on each side are working independantly. Hence customers were pressing on call buttons on both sides creating much slower service. Many customers were waiting upto 5 mins just to get on an elevator. Also didnt like that the hotel is charging additional fees for customers to access the pool. Breakfast quality was very poor. Seems like they are heating up instant foods. Egg station offers only one type of pre-fried eggs. Bacon was not properly prepared and were like chewing on leather.

Hong Kong- 5-star price with a 3 (to be generous...) star service and customer mindset - 4 lifts to serve all the rooms (on 10+ floors) is a nonsense: ppl at 7th floor were taking the lift up to be able to go down... - If upon raising the 'lift issue' the answer is 'I will raise your point to the duty manager'...well I can only be speechless
Good location with a nice view Big size of the bedroom Courteous staff at the reception

South KoreaThere aren't much restaurants or cafes in the area and the hotel is away from everything. This was a great thing for us though because we wanted to be away from people and enjoy a staycation at the hotel.
I LOVED this hotel. The hotel has facilities that you can use (for an additional fee), a restaurant, a beautiful bakery cafe, massage chairs, and a fitness room that is free. The rooms are spacious, the bed is the perfect amount of firm and cushion, the views are amazing, and the staff are kind and entertaining. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this hotel and are likely to be back. I would not recommend this hotel to those who do not have a car or those who want to visit the major attractions of Gangneung. This area is about a 40 min drive to Gyeongpo beach (the touristy area of Gangneung).
