Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

SingaporeThe rooms can be cold when you forget to turn up the heater, especially the floor. Other than the cold, the hostel is perfect if you are on a budget.
Fantastic location, quiet as it is not facing the main shopping street. Great service, simple breakfast - fruits, hard boiled eggs, coffee, juices, toast. Can leave your luggage until 9pm. We booked family room for our family of 5. Small but good enough. Love the beds - firm, clean and warm. Toilet is clean. Water dispenser is just outside the room.

CanadaThe room was very small. The door to the washroom cannot seem to close very well. The exit light in the room was too bright. If you are tall, the bed might be a bit short.
Excellent location. It was in the middle of an area with lots of restaurants, night market and shopping places. It was also very close to the train station. The staff were fantastic. We were having problems in extending our wifi box service. The staff helped us communicating with the company. When it got complicated, the staff gave suggestions. They cared and we were appreciative. Breakfast was great. Good selection of fruits, cup ramen, and bread. We like that they had a water dispenser on each floor that we can use to fill our water bottle. This helps reduce the amount of plastic.

JapanThe shower/restroom in room was interesting. Small and really wouldn’t have been an issue if the drain wasn’t soo slow.
Loved the location!!! Great area for street shopping and close access to subway. Restaurants nearby a plus. The rooms were rather small but good accommodations if you just need a place to store luggage and sleep. We are a family of 5 and made it work in a room with 2 bunk beds.

United StatesLike most other reviews, the biggest draw back is the bright neon green exit sign that you can't turn off or cover. It is very bright, and can be difficult to sleep if you do not have face cover. I rated the value low but to be fair this was a last minute stay during the Buddhist festival when our last hostel canceled on us suddenly.
It is a very good location right next to all the night markets in Myeongdong. The breakfast was fairly standard and the room was nice and clean! The staff was nice, did not need to interact with them too much because everything went smoothly during our stay.

Irelandthe green emergency exit sign over the door is permanently lit and bright. when going to sleep it can be a bit difficult with this big bright green light over the door shining in your face. considering the room only has one entrance/exit door, I would ask is the big exit sign needed at all? as there is only one way out of the room anyway. if so, does it need to be so bright?
location, location, location! the neighbourhood of Myeongdong has some of the best shopping and street food in all of Seoul. the area is also very well connected by public transport, particularly the metro to all other areas of significance within Seoul city itself.

PhilippinesThe towels are so small but it is a towel size used by Japanese and Koreans (I quite not satisfied with the answer, though). Yet, the towels served its purpose to dry ourselves after bath. On our last night, we cannot operate the AC into cold one. We asked the staff but he told us that the hostel has centralized AC system and it was turned into heater because there was a baby in other room. Instead, he asked us to just open the window but the cold breeze could not reach one area of the room. It was hard to sleep. There was no free everyday service cleaning during our stay. There is a fee of KRW 10,000. Overall, I still like the hostel and I would consider getting back to this place. :)
The staff are very nice especially the lady (I think she owns the place) was kind, approachable and caring plus she speaks English fluently. The breakfast is fine, same everyday -- cereal, boiled egg, fresh fruits, bread, instant Jin ramen noodles, fresh juices and coffee. Their breakfast area is a simple restaurant at night; we tried their I Like Chicken menu and it was delicious. There is water dispenser to drink along the hallway. The room is quite compressed yet we managed to fit our 5 big luggages. The beds are big enough to fit ourselves and comfortable enough to have a good rest with one pillow and comforter. There were hangers provided, was a shoe cabinet inside the room and were toiletries such as shampoo, body wash and tissues. Room was clean when we arrived. The location of the hotel is near Exit 6 and 8 of Myeong-dong Station, just 5-10 mins walk and is 3 minutes away to the vibrant streets of Myeong-dong. Elevator is available. Reception closes at 11 PM. Safe and secure hostel and area.

SingaporeRoom space can be considered small for 2 person. Can improve on carpet floor as feel old and dusty at times. Bed needs to change or replace with new ones as making noise and loop-sided though still consider ok.
Good location with just a bit 20m from the main shopping route. Walking distance to Issac Toast top review outlet which is around the corner. If shopping is your trip, this will ideally be your place to put up as it is very close shops - face mask, street food etc but is away from the noise generated. Room is normal for their standard but will be consider small for 2 of us on one bed with 2 baggage. Better to get the double single or double decker bed. View wise is just backyard with taller building though still managed to have sky and surrounding landscaper in general. Bed can be improved as think it needs to be replaced as spring is slightly looped sided and make noise when turning. Room space is small with shower area even smaller. When shower, cannot flushed to much as water will be sprayed all over and even wet the floor outside. Breakfast is simple with bread, egg, fruits - strawberry/banana, tomato, cereals, American Coffee, CUP NOODLE - Must try CUP Noodle and water only between 7 to 9am with the owner server waiting to serve and greet you to make your day bright and sunny before you start your adventure. Very helpful owners if you are lucky to meet them as compared to their hired staff. Noted that no access/service to counter/reception after 10pm. Only able to take lift to rooms. Alley can be a little dark but was safe and no worry for us when return around 11pm. . Nice exterior and the breakfast area become eatery after breakfast though didn't try. Lastly, thanks to the owners for making the stay enjoyable!!!
