Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

New ZealandI was aware of the following points already, so nothing suprised me and I was fine with it: There is no spa or something, it is just the bathtub. Water takes some time to get hot, but it will get eventually and then it is really relaxing. Sheets are a bit scrubby and have some fussels. Rooms and hostel is definitely a bit old, but more me that was no isuue at all. Just fo not expect a new modern room.
The service qas really great. I could check in way before check in time already and could do my laundry. I also really enjoyed the bath tub. For me it was a great stay and I decided too stay longer than intended. Breakfast is available as well, with some toast and jam. The room was amazingly big.

The ladies were very nice and friendly. Easy to find a restaurant and great location to catch a bus. It is not that far from the metro station.

The ladies at reception are friendly and try to be helpful but they don't understand even basic English. The place was nice and clean with a lot of modern equipment in the room, but you can see its an old building from the bathroom tiles and finishes.

The hostesses were lovely - we barely spoke the same language but they put in a lot of effort to make us comfortable. Breakfast was provided and we even had our laundry done! Rooms were cleaned daily while we were out as well :)

AustraliaGreat location, easy to walk to parks, museums and the arboretum. So much to see nearby and in the region. I could have happily spent a week here exploring. The room was spacious and the bed comfortable. Breakfast was included (eggs and toast) with complimentary popcorn for snacks. The staff were gracious and helpful.

JapanIt's a bit dated in decor, and the sheets were a bit dirty once. Okay, it IS a love hotel. But really that's a good thing, since it isn't seedy.
huge bathroom, huge tub, tv with netflix, pc. the BEST part was the owner. very sweet lady. also free toast, eggs, and popcorn all day every day!
