Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe beds were a little hard and the toilets did run out of toilet paper a couple of times without quick replenishment during our stay but it didn’t matter too much.
The common area was very tidy and well equipped with everything you would need. The breakfast was great with toast, eggs, cereal, and juice available. I would definitely stay again.

FranceNothing, I spend a nice time here.
The hostel is located close to some of the most touristic attractions (첨성대, 대릉원) and there is bus stops close by to visit other places further away. The room was clean and practical. The storage underneath the bed was enough to store my luggage (should fit a check-in luggage). The owners were really nice. The breakfast was good (toast, spreads, eggs, juices).

IrelandThe shared bathroom facilities were only clean-ish, and very damp. But this is more information for other people for whom that is very important, I really thought it was fine, especially for the price. Would go again.
It was a room with four beds in it, but the blinds around the bunks made it very quiet and gave privacy. I slept a lot better than in any other dorm before! The shared breakfast area was amazing, it was clean, there was access to food to cook for yourself, and because it was pleasant to sit in, people started chatting. I got some good tips for local attractions to see. Because there was a problem with my train, I arrived very late, but after I informed the hostel, there was a very lovely elderly waiting for me on the street outside (at 11 o'clock!), who showed me around, helped me with everything and was generally very sweet and kind.

FranceFew drawbacks: small shower and toilet facility for men (I think it is the same for women). When the hostel is full, you can feel a little bit cramped
One of the best guest I have been to. Closed to the bus stop to access bus and train terminals. Very kind staff. Lot of books and maps available for the ones who like to do trekking. Really well organized bedrooms that give privacy. And a nice breakfast

ItalyThe only down side for us was the male bathroom. It had only one toilet and very often the traffic jam in the bathroom was quite annoying.
Great hostel in a strategic location to visit Gyeongju and nearby temples. The hostel was very clean and comfortable. Breakfast exceeded our expectations.

United Arab EmiratesThe only thing that I should mention is that there is no common area per se, aside from the kitchen table. Therefore, it can be a bit frustrating if you are looking to meet other people.
I loved my stay at Blueboat Hostel in Gyeongju. Very clean, calm and conveniently located. The hostel is quite modern and offers a comfortable setting. Breakfast served in the hostel is very good. Also, laundry can be made by the staff within 3 hours, which is a game changer. Thank you Rosso for the stay!

This hostel is very well located - closed to all the major tourist attraction of the city. You can walk to almost all places. The dorm are comfy and the breakfast is good (egg and bread with Nutella / butter / peanut butter). You have also free coffee and tea all day long.

GermanyStill, there are two Main Points to Improve: After 11 pm you should Go to your room and the light and AC in the communal area is turned off. That is quite early in my Opinion and there is no other Option to contine to Talk with other Travellers. Second, the bathroom smells quite Bad, I do Not know why, but that is a big issue in my opinion. One toilet is also a Bit less for so many people, but this was Not a big Problem when I was there.
The staff is very friendly and the Hostel boasts a cool communal area to meet other travelers while breakfast or in the evening. Location is near the sights of the City, so you do Not have to take a Bus to get around. Dorms are quiet and there is enough privacy thanks to curtains.
