Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaWe love Robinson Bungalows. It's like the good ol days with open cabins and mosquito nets. Be warned that not everyone would like this open type jungle hut. (There's new enclosed huts too now). We delighted in it. The gecko above our heads kept us awake! Perfect! But it's not for everyone! It's also a 40 min hike and you need study shoes. You can get a boat around too. Bed super comfy. Small portable rechargeable fan given each day. Lovely food. Amazing wifi. Beautiful swimming beach. Amazing sunsets. Recommended. Our favourite place in Cambodia.

United KingdomJust - wow. The location is unbelievable - our hut opened right out on to the beach and we fell asleep every night to the sound of waves crashing a few feet away. During our stay we only saw a handful of other people, it really was a deserted island paradise. Absolutely loved everything about our stay here. The staff are brilliant and the food - whilst a bit pricier than the rest of Cambodia - is really good and the portions are big. I was expecting a really basic cabin but our family bungalow really exceeded my expectations - it was big, spotlessly clean and the veranda with lazy seats and hammocks was wonderful. We had mosquito nets but hardly saw any during our stay (I'd also read about sandflies but pleased to say we didn't encounter any of these either!). There is Starlink WiFi in the main building which was good enough for checking emails/messages etc. There are also plenty of chargers up there if you need them. There are a couple of other sets of bungalows along the beach with small restaurants attached so there are other options for food and drink. Mainly we just enjoyed chilling out and swimming in the beautiful sea every day! The walk from the other side of the island took us 35mins (with two kids) so it's not too much of a hike (and totally worth it to get to stay somewhere so amazing!)

Location, tranquility, beach bungalow itself. This place is definitely worth a hike through the jungle. Once the hike is over you are rewarded with a stunning sunset, beautiful quiet beach, great snorkelling spots. Great place to escape hectic life for a bit.

New ZealandThe hike down to the accommodation was difficult with luggage (we had large backpacks) and a boat option wasn’t available to take us back. We weren’t provided any information about the island and what activities we could do (we would have liked to have been given this information on arrival). The bungalows were very hot and sticky at night (didn’t get a good sleep) - we were provided with a fan each, however they only last around 5 hours. There was a lot more pollution on the beach than I was expecting. The coastal erosion meant that getting in and out the sea was tricky and you have the navigate the rocks (not safe in a swell) - have to walk down the beach to be able to get in and out safely.
Our bungalow had a great view of the sea from the balcony and you can hear the waves at night. The food at the restaurant was really good and the setting felt relaxed. I liked the jungle vibe and being away from the main beach

The food in the restaurant was incredible & the portions were great. The best food we’ve had in cambodia. The room was beautiful with stunning views! (We stayed in a beach front cosy bungalow)

United KingdomTest your safe before you put anything in it to make sure it closes and opens properly. We had an issue with it and others did too while we were there. The owner fixed the issue, which was great, but something to consider before using it.
If you're looking for a peaceful, quiet stay right on the beach where you can wake up and fall asleep to the sound of the sea, this is the place for you! It's a simple place with all you need to enjoy the spectacular setting of sunset beach. It is a tough hike to this side of the island if you go during the middle of the day, but it was fine when we went early on the way back. It's worth it though as sunset beach is really peaceful and beautiful.

United KingdomThe fans died in the night and it became very hot! Sometimes the water from the shower was abit funny.
Everything. It’s just perfectly amazing. Sunset beach was really the best, the hike there made it very peaceful and not overcrowded. The sunsets did not disappoint! Robinsons was very chill and authentic, nothing like the too modern resorts you see overcrowding beach fronts. The restaurant was AMAZING. We didn’t get the chance to eat anywhere else because all the food options were just so good.

SwitzerlandThey advertise that there is a fan in the tents which is true but the battery power never lasted more than 2-3 hours for us. Beware of this as it can get very hot in the tents :)
Beautiful waterfront location and very spacious glamping tents. The two hammocks for each tents were also great. Food was delicious and portions were generous. Very friendly staff as well!

FranceWe would have liked to have had a view of the sea rather than a building. and the prices (stay, restaurant, bar) are high. but like everywhere on the island I imagine.
The location was great, tou have to cross the forest to go there and it is very isolated. The beach is absolutely beautiful and the bungalows are lovely.

South AfricaNothing, we loved everything except leaving but you just need to know that this place might not be the right fit for you if you're looking for an ultra-luxurious resort with every modern convenience on tap.
The accommodation blends into the beautiful natural jungle and beach landscape and feels perfect for the setting. Be advised that it is a bit rustic but there's a shower and a flushing toilet and our bed was really comfortable. There are no plug points in the room but you can charge your devices in the dining area. A mosquito net is provided which was great as it meant we could leave the windows open for a cooling sea breeze at night. We were a stone's throw from the water but also surrounded by trees, it was magical. The staff were helpful and friendly but unobtrusive. The food is traditional Khmer cuisine and everything we had was delicious and made with a lot of care. There are also a few other resorts in the bay that serve different food styles. Sunset Beach is more remote than some of the other bays on the island and does not have a ferry port or really much other boat traffic making it perfect for swimming, paddling and snorkeling. This does mean that you have to hike in to the accommodation but it's completely manageable, just be sure to pack in a backpack rather than a suitcase or kit bag. All the pertinent information and directions are sent out in an email as soon as you book. This stands out as one of our best beach holidays, highly recommended.

IrelandThe tent would get warm during the day. They provided fans at night for this reason, but since the tents do not have electricity, the fans were battery-operated, and on some nights, we were only able to get 1 to 2 hours out of the fan before it would run out of battery.
The location was beautiful. We were stunned when we arrived and saw the view from our tent. The beach area was always quiet, which was nice, and there was a lovely view of the sunset from the tent and the restaurant/bar. The tent was a good size. We enjoyed the hammocks outside the tent during the day when it was too hot to enter the tent. The staff were friendly and were always around when you needed them. There was plenty of sockets in the restaurant for charging our electronics and the wifi worked well during our stay. The bathrooms were clean.

Belgium- Difficult to access (35min trek into the jungle which is nice but can be difficult for some people with the heat and luggage) but that is what it takes to have the desert island vibe :) - No electricity in the bungalow, but electric devices can be charged at the reception/restaurant :) - No A/C in the bungalow but you can get a small portable fan at the reception (however the battery won’t last all night long).
- Super well located on a desert part of the island, with stunning sunsets. - Very quiet and ideal to relax. - Excellent food and drinks at the restaurant. - Snorkelling spot nearby. - Very clean and well maintained.

United KingdomThis was my second time coming to Robinson bungalows, the first being in 2022. It was just as good as before - the location just on the beach really is magic. The food is outstanding, especially the local Khmer dishes - some of the best food on the island. The bungalows themselves are very clean and come with comfy beds and mosquito nets. Bathrooms are also kept really clean and the showers have good water pressure. It’s also great that you can charge your phone up at restaurant area. Overall I really recommend this place if you are looking be a little cut off and want to escape for some peace and quiet on a lovely beach. There are also lots and lots of fish (parrot fish, angel fish etc) by the rocks on the left hand side of Sunset beach in front of Robinson Bungalows which are great for snorkelling if you want to see lots of fish. 10/10

United KingdomThe walk in with luggage was a bit of a trek. The last 10 minutes down a steep rocky path would be hard for someone who wasn't fit. It is a shame that there have been some wide paths scraped into the middle of the island. That is another issue and didn't affect our area. Shower pressure poor in our shared bathroom, but didn't expect it to be great TBH!!
The accommodation is set amongst trees and right on the beach. Our bungalow had a safe and electric light but was basic as we expected. The veranda overlooked the sea. Food was nice in the restaurant and a bit more expensive than mainland as we expected. Staff helpful. Charging for mobiles in the bar. No roads or traffic. Great to swim in the sea.
