Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

SingaporeOverall, the hotel needs a big renovation. It is an old 5-star hotel, that probably used to look amazing when it was first built, but now we could clearly see the age of it. Also, we had an unfortunate incident: we booked the sunrise tour with the hotel and requested packed breakfast, as this is a very common practice and we had already paid for it. There was probably a miscommunication between the evening and morning staff and they did not have breakfast for us. So instead of following the schedule, we had to drive around to find breakfast, which of course we paid. Mistakes like this do happen, but the issue was how they handled it. Normally, in such situations a 5-star hotel will offer some compensation, however, in our case (1) we had to request for it and (2) the staff were initially not offering anything, then some ridiculous options (like give us the breakfast for dinner) and only when we insisted they offered an appropriate compensation (got a discount on another tour that we booked). It was a very unpleasant back and forth with the reception staff as they were quite ironic and unwilling to help. This type of behavior is not acceptable in a 5-star hotel.
The location was really good and the breakfast buffet had quite a few options, majority local but some international too. The room and the balcony were super spacious and very clean.

AustraliaIt is now the off season, so not many people staying, so not much atmosphere to the place. But I enjoyed it.
Room was lovely and quiet. A little dated but it is so central that I don't think it matters. Comfy bed, good towels and bedding, clean. More power points than other hotels I have stayed in, so easily able to charge gadgets. Staff very kind and helpful. Happy to help with bookings, transport, etc. They organised my car to the airport. Massage was not expensive and very good - Khmer Traditional Massage. Cocktails are good and not expensive. I always appreciate a hotel that makes omelettes to order in the morning.

United KingdomHotel is a little dated and would perhaps benefit from a little make over but without losing it's charm.
Everything, the location is fantastic, just a short walk to night market and pub street, slightly longer to stagger back.

United KingdomThe drain in the shower didn't work and wasn't fixed even after asking twice. Although not a huge issue (we had to remove the drain cover ourselves after each shower) for the money you pay you wouldn't expect this.
The pool was really nice and the room was big and cool. The staff were very friendly. Breakfast buffet was nice and we were given a good packed breakfast for angkor wat even when asking at short notice! This was really appreciated

United KingdomHaving to leave and come home
everything was 1st class from arriving and checking in, all the staff make you feel very welcome , always smiling always very polite, and willing to go that extra step to make your stay a great one. Also the location was fantastic for me, only a 10 minute straight line walk , to the main strip of pub street and cheers street. Must say a big thank you to the young man who worked on the pool bar, had many long enjoyable conversations with, while having a long cool drink, and food before leaving for the night life..

PhilippinesBecause of the garden setting, we encountered a few mosquitos on certain nights inside our room and on the balcony. Maybe a mosquito repellant would be a good idea to offer guests.
I stayed at this hotel on my previous visit to Siem Reap in 2013 and really loved it! It was livelier then because the lobby was full of guests and featured a young lady in traditional costume playing a Cambodian Xylophone. The property closed during the lockdown and reopened only in April 2023. It has very few employees and guests now, so there is a perceptible drop in the general vibe and energy. But the team is still top notch at what they do, and show admirable warmth and kindess to all guests. The rooms are generous in size with beautiful wooden floors. There is a bathtub and separate walk-in shower in the bathroom. The centerpiece of the property is its beautiful pool (the jacuzzi no longer works now - I hope they get it up and running again soon). I had a fantastic oil massage in the spa. The breakfast buffet is good now but should get better soon. The hotel arranged our temple tour and airport transfers and also has a cooking class, which we were not able to take due to time constraint. Near the hotel is the (small-ish) Made in Cambodia Market and the superb Cafe Indochine. Pub Street is about 800 meters or a short tuktuk ride. I would stay at this property again on my next visit to Siem Reap.

IrelandAs other reviews said it is a little run down in places, lots of the sunbeds didn’t have umbrellas or didn’t work. The jacuzzi section in the spa wasn’t running - and didn’t look like it had in a while.
The staff here are excellent, very friendly and helpful! Also very responsive on their email. I booked an airport pick up and my flight was cancelled and they emailed very promptly to change. The pool here is beautiful! After I checked out I was able to shower etc in the spa area which was great as I had a late flight. My room was lovely! Great air con, hair dryer and safety deposit box. I had a pool view room with a balcony. I was only here for one night and did a sunrise Angkor Wat tour but the hotel gave me a packed breakfast which was great as well as letting me have the room until I returned so I could have a quick freshen up. Only 10 minutes walk on a main road (well lit and good footpath) to Pub Street.

United KingdomThe room was a little basic and dark but that was more the position of it being ground floor. The paving slabs are rough so dragging a case over them or even walking to the pool needed some care.
The pool is superb, long and wide so good for relaxing or lap swimming. The hotel has a good breakfast range of options for the area. Staff very friendly and helpful, nothing too much trouble. Good location - 10 min walk into town and the area felt safe so never an issue walking back at midnight or later.

United StatesWe had three days there to visit Angcor Wat. The location is nice; it's on a central street, so it feels safe to walk even at night. If your breakfast is included, that is great, but if not, just remember that there are many options that are four times cheaper around. The property was clean, the stuff was helpful, and the massage had a good quality/price ratio.

EstoniaThere were so little customers and that felt a bit in the service. Especially at the poolside bar. A single drink took ages and the staff didn't know much about what they had on the menu.
It is a big hotel with nice rooms. The breakfast was good with an egg and noodle soup station. Breakfast choice was good. The pool is big and warmer than average. The courtyard was big and had a bit of a jungle feeling. We took the local cuisine cooking class and it was well organized with a lot of people taking care of us for the private cooking which was not that expensive. They also helped us organize a taxi transfer to Kampot.
