The location is superb, and just 100 feet away from the Nikishi market. The room is small, but very functional. The best part was the small washing machine, which was quite handy considering how hot Japan was and we went through quite a few shirts

I consider myself quite experienced with finding hotels that meet my expectations. And once in a while I find gems that exceed these expectations. This place is definitely one of them. Welcoming and knowledgeable staff. Spotless cleaning. It is located in the heart of the city but yet on a very calm street. The room was very spacious, uncommonly large for Japanese standards. The bed was so comfortable. It was very convenient to have the laundry machine in the room. There is even a kitchenette, if needed. I know where to stay next time I visit Kyoto again.

What a perfect location for my third time to Kyoto. The couple that run the hotel were so lovely and accomodating. They went out of their way to help us and even contacted me when train lines were down when we were going to a tour. Above and beyond!

Awesome hotel with: - convenience of location, allowing walkable and easy access to markets, trains, buses, restaurants, and shopping malls. - the staff were helpful and friendly. - room was spacious, had a washing machine and dryer in the bathroom, microwave, kitchen sink, and fridge - Stored our luggage for a few hrs(available until 10 p.m.) after checkout and while we roamed around Kyoto. Although there were no water bottles in the fridge, they provided water and tea at reception. This is the best hotel we have stayed at in Japan. Will definitely come back for our next visit to Kyoto.

It is a personal and subjective but the bed is a little bit hard.

The lady and the gentleman and the full staff were extremely helpful. The room 503 was very comfortable and has a terrace, mini kitchen. The room was very large. The water and coffee in the reception was complimentary and the coffee was very good. The hotel was very close to fish market and shopping area.

They aren’t in every city. I really can’t think of a negative thing to say! It was such an incredible experience hospitality wise.

Not only is the room super comfortable with all the amenities you could ask for. But the staff and owners are so hospitable and willing to help you with anything you may need. The customer service is impeccable with an English speaking staff. The location is perfect walking distance from nearly everything. Can’t recommend this property enough

We loved everything!

Central location, very clean, washer, efficient dryer function in bathroom clothes dried within 1-3 hours depending on fabric type)…but it was the owners and staff that really made our stay so special. They were so warm and welcoming. They treated us like their family, daily conversations at the lobby, their recommendations, and daily giving us directions how to go anywhere. They’re located only 2-3 buildings away from Nishiki Market. My 8 year old daughter and I stayed at their smallest room (with 1 double bed). It was small and very smart use of the space. It was very clean and amazing water pressure in the shower. They also provide cold water in the lobby, so we refilled our water bottles and also the pitcher from the room.

Just perfect!

Best hotel we stayed in for all our travels in Japan. Love that the room had its own washing machine and a shower room with various functions (such as strong ventilation mode for the hot showers or a drying function to hang up your clothes to dry fast). Also, the staff spoke great English to assist foreigners. Bathrooms had large bottles of shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. AC was very strong as well.

The staff were incredible - so helpful and welcoming. Everything was very clean and the facilities were great. Having a washing machine in the room was fantastic and loved the size of the room. The location was brilliant. We had an excellent stay here and definitely would return.

We had an amazing time! Thanks to the wonderful innkeepers and all the helpful staff. The room was spotless and well-equipped with a microwave, washing machine and dryer. There was no extra charge for this. The bedrooms were also very shaded at night. What impressed us the most was the excellent communication from the inn. When we left on our last day, the hostel owner gave us a very convenient route to the airport, which saved us a lot of trouble!
