Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesThere was no power. However, it was 10 days post Hurricane Beryl. A generator and Hotspot was provided.
Ruth and Robert were both very nice, accommodating and provided a relaxed atmosphere. The food was absolutely delicious. One family member required gluten free and they were able to provide it.

IrelandNothing. It was perfect!
Our recent stay at the Prince Valley Guesthouse was nothing short of exceptional. The authenticity of the place, reflected in its charming architecture, provided an immersive experience that truly captures the essence of local culture. The food was incredible, offering a delightful array of flavors that left us eagerly anticipating each meal. The proximity to local bars was a highlight, allowing us to mingle with the locals and enjoy vibrant, fun-filled evenings. Additionally, the guesthouse's location near scenic trails and a beautiful waterfall added to the adventure, making for memorable walks and breathtaking views. Overall, Prince Valley Guesthouse offered a perfect blend of comfort, culture, and adventure. Highly recommended for anyone looking to experience the true spirit of the area!

BelgiumThe road down to the property is really in deplorable condition. It would not advise it to inexperienced drivers or for saloon cars.
Very pretty and laidback guesthouse in the middle of the Blue Mountains. Good base for walks.

United KingdomOur stay was all great.
The position of Prince Valley GH is superb - nestled on the side of a hidden valley. Our room (Tree House) was great if a bit uneven! Food very good - breakfasts of everything you could want prepared by Bobby and dinners by Terence the chef always tasty. Lots of walking: to Craigton coffee plantation and Newcastle Hill Station/Catherines Peak well worth a trip. Also historic Strawberry Hill hotel recommended for its food and ambiance. You’ll need a taxi to get there but the music history, views and service great. Bobby very helpful and knowledgeable for advice. He sent a driver (Desmond) to pick us up from Kingston as the road to Prince Valley not for the faint hearted.

United Kingdom?
It is a major adventure to get to (perhaps not for the faint-hearted), but so worth it. We arrived just after sundown (making the road that much more of a challenge) but we were then welcomed by Bobby and staff. Our room was simple but spacious and clean, and brightly coloured and comfortable. The guest house is a maze of interconnected buildings with a lovely roof-top dining area. The meal was excellent, and we slept well afterward. We woke to birdsong and amazing views over surrounding hills and beautiful tropical gardens, decorated by a long-tailed humming bird outside our window. The breakfast was also delicious. All great value. Will definitely stay again.

United KingdomNot anyones fault it but take it very slowly on the access road leading to the property.
Great place, good vibe, good food. Rooms are basic but adequate. No hot water but a kettle and bowl are provided. Fabulous setting and views. Booby was very friendly and his directions to the property were spot on.

United KingdomThe location is incredible, off the beaten track peaceful and beautiful. A mountain dream. Bobbi and Ruth have created a place for you to come and experience the blue mountains, it’s rustic and special. Chef cooked up a storm and I had a brown stew fish for dinner. I’d recommend this to everyone! Lots of comms to help me drive to the guesthouse, I drove on my own in the world’s smallest car, take it super slow and I promise you will make it. It’s worth it!

United StatesThe views are outstanding. Every room has a view of the mountains and there is space outside of each room to sit and in peace and quiet and enjoy the view. Enjoyed: 1) a hike, 2) local lunch in town, 3) swin at the local falls, 4) traditional dinners, i.e., Escovitch and traditional Jamaican breakfasts, i.e., saltfish and ackee, fried dumplings, breadfruit and plantains. Great host, great spaces, delicious meals!

PolandThe only thing I couldn't understand was why I couldn't stay there longer:)
Bobby is the kindest person we've ever met. The fresh brewed blue mountain coffee and the tea made with herbs he took from his garden were like a cherry on a top of cake given to our breakfast. Even the hardest part of the road was ok with Bobbies help 👌We get his direction and with our rented car of bad quality (no clearance, no 4x4, brakes so so) with 3 big duffel bags (21 kg each) we reached the guesthouse (going back Bobby helped us with bags - took them to his car to get our car a little higher and we followed him to avoid biggest potholes on the steep road up). The road B1 is a normal mountain paved road reachable for each car. But the second part, which is only 2.5 km, was really stressful: is paved but very steep and full of gaps, potholes and sharp turns. Going down is ok, because you don't know what to expect:) Going back with a car without high clearance is a challenge but reachable. The place was completely hidden with great views and much cooler than the city. Our room was clean and normal, nothing more you should expect in mountain hut. People in the neighborhood were also very polite (it is always so in mountain). There is also a small waterfall in 10 minutes walk where you can refresh in cold water. Bobby and Deana help to organize tours and hikes with local guides. We took Shugarloaf hike with a very nice couple - picnic under waterfall and many talks about surroundings.

FranceThis has been the highlight of our trip and we wish we could have stayed longer. Prince Valley is ideally located with breathtaking views. We stayed at the most charming cabin, the Mango tree house, and it was AMAZING. Ruth and Bob are great hosts and communication was easy and smooth. Follow their directions to get to the guesthouse. Bob received us with a warm smile and cooked a delicious dinner and breakfast for us, you won't regret it! Thank you so much for your hospitality, respect !
