Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

SwedenHard to have only one (1) key when you are a company of 5 people (all adults) The extra (3rd) bed in one of the room is NOT sufficient to sleep in as an adult! Really low standard Some info and guidiance on how to access the hotel by car AND how/where to park it would have been nice and a better sevice
The location is great! So close to the pulse/resturants and the tower and all beatiful things to see.

MaltaThe property is in a loft (lots of stairs to reach it) and has a tiny little window, so not much daylight. The AC didn’t work, and it was getting very stuffy and hot. Not a major issue as we were mainly out and didn’t spend much time at the room.
Bang right next to the tower of Pisa & right next to all restaurants. The room was very spacious, so as the bathroom. Good communication with the host. Little fridge in the room

It was super close to the Leaning Tower of Pisa. that was very convenient. The person who checked me in was polite no doubt.

NorwayThe bathroom, while clean, could do with a bit of maintenance (eg the shower head, loose toilet seat and the tiles near the WC). My particular room didn't have a great view out the window, which wasn't a problem for me, but might be significant for others. (The other rooms might have had better views.) A spare mattress (I think?) next to the stairwell up to the room detracted from the general aesthetic a bit.
The breakfast was provided at a restaurant slightly further away but that was fine. :) (Guests would normally use the one immediately downstairs, but this was closed the day I was there.) The breakfast was simple, but delicious and perfect for me. The building had a lot of character/atmosphere and the room was nicely appointed and cosy. I thought the small portals in the bedroom walls showing the stonework underneath were a very nice touch, and made the room seem a little more exotic and special than just a standard hotel room. The position was great, and the vicinity to lots of open air cafes and restaurants was a real plus. The area felt very safe for a woman travelling alone, and was full of "life". The B&B is within easy walking distance to the Tower. In my case, this meant I was easily able to visit it at around 10pm without having to deal with large numbers of queues and people. I came quite late in the evening so the host wasn't there, but I got good instructions via WhatsApp on how to get into the building and room. Follow up questions were answered promptly. :)

IndiaSometimes it is noisy and all the rooms are not the same. They first offered us the room which was very old and weirdly constructed then we asked for another room and they have provided us. So maybe you need to confirm that you need a room with a view/balcony.
Value for money!! Very good location, near the tower and public transport . All the super markets and restaurants are close by. Staff is good, even though they don't speak English but try to help you as much as they can. We needed a cab to the airport early in the morning and the staff helped us to get the cab.

United KingdomLocated on second floor, no lift. Bathroom door is a trap and disaster waiting to happen. -the bathroom door latch was wrongly fitted. Shower head is broken and leaking. Shower door is loose. -otherwise all okay. I would have told the owner/manager but she was not physically available when we arrived and when we left. I hope she sees this review and amend bathroom door before a lonely person is trapped in the bathroom
