Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Location was good, able to walk around town & site see. Room was large and comfortable with small balcony. Breakfast was served in your room. This may change as they were doing renovations on the ground floor - looked like it might be a restaurant.

CyprusCleanliness and maintenance of the room could be better. The hotel had an impressive ambience as it was an old building that had been restored, but it could benefit from more decorations to enhance its overall atmosphere.
The room was large with good facilities, a fridge, a professional hairdryer and a kettle. Extremely comfortable bedding. We got breakfast in our room every day based on a list we filled out when we arrived (with all the basic options available), and the food was always fresh. Convenient location in the city centre and in a walkable distance to Ibla. Wifi connection was excellent.

ItalyWifi service was not working in the upper floor. In the morning hours the water was scarcely flowing in shower and bath
We were searching some location near to center but also with easy access to parking. This hotel is 2' from a big parking and from the Ragusa center, San Giovanni and restaurants. Of course it is not in Ragusa Ibla so some walking is needed to reach that part, but there are city bus going down and up the hill. We got a very big room on top of the hotel that is located in a historical palace and had a nice view on roofs. The staff was ready to help and make suggestions for our visits. Breakfast was served in the room

BulgariaA lot of stairs to climb to my room: they should be no problem for anyone who wants to sightsee on foot place like Ragusa.
The hotel is in a renovated old building in an atmospheric neighbourhood. The staff is quite responsive. The room was excellent.

NetherlandsNothing a lot to say. Just a little remark that is the fact that the mixer shower was not perfectly working, water was too warm or too cold, but for the rest everything was fine.
The room was very big with a high beautiful frescoed ceiling. We had breakfast in the room on time and well served with several good options between salted and sweet choices, The location of the hotel is perfect, in the heart of Ragusa with behind the San Giovanni Cathedral.

NetherlandsVery beautiful room with high frescoed ceilings. The room was very big with a nice balcony and beautiful view on the city center. The location of the hotel is perfect, in the center of the city with the Cathedral of San GIovanni just behind it and nice restaurants where we went for dinner. United KingdomOur room was the size of a small conference hall, but poorly lit. The hotel had run out of local maps and the local information office was closed at weekends. (the owner did eventually do us a black and white map from the web)
The hotel was located in the centre of Rakusa Superiore, but unfortunately it was quite for from the intersting part of town , Ibla. Stall was helpful after a rough start. The whole building was a formerly grand 18th century mansion block - faded but still picturesque.

United StatesIt was very cold throughout the castle, I guess no one can help this, there was mold in our bathroom- on the walls. If you have any type of allergy/ breathing issues- do NOT stay here! We did slip a few times walking in the room because of the floors. The front desk woman has a dream job and only is at the desk for a few hours, did not answer any emails, and we had to go to see her, on her time. The beds were so so soooo uncomfortable. If you have a bad back or a hip replacement like my mom, this isn’t for you. Do not stay here. For the price 75 USD- you get what you pay for. All-in-all is was clean and in a nice location. You cannot ask for anything really more than that. Oh we had room 13. Enough said.
Great location. Close to the city center and around wonderful Resturants, bars, and close to the bus stop! The hotel used to be a castle I think the front desk girl said so that’s very interesting! The room for 130 euro and 150 usd for two nights, we thought we a deal! They also offered breakfast which is wonderful traveling through Sicily! The front desk woman was as helpful as she wanted to be!

PolandUnfortunately, the hotel room was simply dirty. I have found a box of cigarettes leftovers in the jar in the balcony… on top of that, there was some very old food in the fridge. I was surprised by the fact that the entire room was not really clean.
The building is very nice and the area is great.

United KingdomI don't even know where to start. The room was very dirty. The bathroom was the worst.I took photos, but Booking.com probably won't allow to publish it.Don't be fooled by the nice photos.I do not know when they took those ,the hotel must been new then back to the time. Now it's runned down.In the back of the hotel some building work going on,so you don't have the nice garden either what on the photos. If I knew that they did not charged my card Iwould look for another hotel when we arrived.Dosen't matter how many stars is the hotel, but it should be clean it is no excuse for this.We did not needed luxury.Did not wanted to touch anything, cleaned the sink, wiped things, remote controll was discusting.Needed to clean that as well.It was a big burn mark on the wooden panel in the room like 2×2 m big.In the bathroom the free toiletries was a big liquid soap holder which was broken off from the wall, and just left on the side of the sink,in the shower tha saim, left on the shower tray on the floor. We did buy some nice toiletries anyway. The bed is unhygienic,no matrac or pillow covers, very hard like you would sleep on bricks. All my body was hurting in the mornings.Dirty windows, blinds. So all over the hotel maintenance was bad,but the worst thing is that needed to spend our few days holiday in a filthy hotel room, did't even wanted to spend time there,we was out all the time.Haited to go back there. Unfortunately Booking.com could't manage to help and get back any compensation eather for us from the hotel. So this is why I am writing this rewiew that another people don't do this mistake and a Hotel room will ruin they holiday. It is still a mistery for us how this hotel got the good rewiews???
Only the location.
