Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

HungaryBringing the facilities more up to date (furnitures, air condition, some paintwork, etc.) could make the establishment even more attractive for guests.
Villa Dei Misteri is a hotel with good fundamentals (the vicinity of Pompei ruins, the Circumvesuviana rails, it has a nice outdoor pool, there belong balcony to the rooms, they offer free parking), and the staff is friendly and helpful.

United KingdomIt would have been nice to have a small table on the balcony to sit at and read on an evening. A safe inside the room to store valuables would have been a great help. This is a nitpick however.
Breakfast was very good. Great, friendly service. Pool facilities were great to relax in. Wi-fi was generally good around the hotel and pool.

United KingdomThere was only a fan in the room to cool it down. The temperatures were around 25+ at night so it got quite uncomfortable. If you don't go midsummer you should be fine though. There was a limited selection of food at the hotel, both for breakfast and lunch/snacks....but what they had was good value.
The pool is brilliant and open all day into the evening, which was needed given the high temperatures. The staff were all friendly and fantastic, the room was cleaned daily. The location is unbeatable. There was only one socket that took a standard EU plug. The rest were the 3-pin Italian ones. So make sure you have the right adapters.

United KingdomNo fridge in the room. No tea coffeee facilities. No pool towels given. If you arrive early and your room is not ready you will not be allowed to use the pool while you wait for your room. In that heat, !!! The reception area has no air conditioner and the snacks provided are not home made (e.g. hamburgers are the ones you buy in supermarket) and come plain no chips nothing with it. Strange for Italy which generally is a culinary experience. Plenty of restaurants close to the ruins (at tourist prices). Apart from the boy and the girl at reception we felt a bit unwelcomed and we didn’t find this hotel friendly.
Pool area is fantastic and so is the location. The hotel is dated and as you can notice from the photos. Rooms are ok and air conditioner however noisy it worked well. Breakfast is superb. Steps from train station and ruins.

United KingdomNot enough socket points in the room (European adapter only fitted one plug in the bathroom), no tea facilities in room. No food really on offer at the hotel and nothing nearby after 6:30 in the evening.
Lovely staff, clean great location with train access really close and tourist sites close by. The pool was a bonus.

United KingdomThe pool is isn't available after checkout at 10.30am and have to pay €15 extra. So for a 1 night stay when mostly there to do trips I felt was too much. I tried to make the most of the pool while I could. Otherwise only complaint is the bed was very hard and not that comfortable.
Location is perfect for the ruins and very relaxed. The staff went out of there way - especially mattea who was very helpful. Even checked me in early which was appreciated! The pool was also refreshing after a hot day touring the ruins.

GermanyPlastic cups used for water or milk at breakfast. I guess could be easily been replaced by eco friendly glasses.
For what we planned to do, visiting Pompeji excavating site and Vesuv volcano this hotel has the best location. Just 2 Minutes walk to starting point for both. Restaruants and a pedestrian zone with a variety of restaurant are also close by. Staff was very helpful and friendly, eve. Though we do only speak a little Italian.

NorwayNothing really, but the economy rooms get really hot. The sun hits the window in the morning and no fan is good enough too cool you down. I would choose AC rooms for better sleep.
