Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

ItalyUnfortunately no breakfast served in the villa. Grocery shop 25 minutes walk away, therefore it is recommended to have a car or a bike to buy some breakfast.
The villa is located in beautiful gardens with lemon trees and gorgeous flower beds. It is just a few minutes walk away from the Maria Pia beach. Hope to come back soon.

RomaniaWe didn’t understand why they have this rule that says you can’t eat in the room. Sometimes there is a bad smell from the bathroom.
Nice room, clean, everything is old but taken care of. Location was very nice, close to a lovely beach. We appreciated that we could leave our luggages at the property for a few hours, they have a special place for that. Also, you can take a shower outside if you want. We had the plane at 9 pm so it was very helpful. Staff was super ok. We had all the information we needed to find the location easy. We would definitely come back 😍

SlovakiaNo breakfast was included (we knew ahead of time) but we didn't realize that the nearest grocery store was a 20 min walk away and the nearest place to get a decent breakfast was about the same. They did offer us coupons for a coffee and pastry at a nearby tennis club which was nice but for 2 euros and 10 minutes walk more you can get a bigger, fresher, breakfast at a beach cafe so we ended up doing that instead. Also, the shower was quite gross with mold in the corners and the door was broken/didn't close properly.
This Villa has an enchanting exterior with a beautiful garden walkway, I felt like I was walking through a movie scene as we went to our room. Our view from the room was equally amazing and with the sea in the distance. Also the AC was a life saver at night. The location is close to the Maria Pia beach and buses connecting to both the airport and Alghero city lines. The staff was also very helpful when I lost my towel, finding and returning it to me within the same day.

ItalyI would have appreciated a cleaner bathroom on our arrival.
The Villa is in a perfect location, right by Maria Pia beach. City center easy to reach by bus or on foot. We arrived when the reception was closed but check-in was still very easy thanks to the provided instructions. The staff was very friendly: they moved us to a room with the sea view and allowed us to use the showers and outdoor facilities even after checkout. The room overall was very clean and as shown in the pictures.

SpainThe installations are old but the worst thing was the air conditioning, after 2 hours working it stopped and began to make hard noises during part of the night. We were too hot to sleep well. And finally, the mattress was very uncomfortable.
The receptionist was very warmly, spoke good english and in general good attention.

SpainTime window to talk to the front desk is completely out of range. 2 nights without air because the machine had to be reset and nobody checked it. Old mattresses. Window in the bathroom doesn't open, missing a door at the shower, shower with leak, always wet floor. Gardening tools unnecessarily occupy a large area. Huge keyset for only 1 needed.
Gardens, flowers, mysterious touch, room space, room's hight.

United StatesIt is almost like it is not in the hospitality business. There was virtually no support for the guests. There was no coffee -- and I do not count vending machine as coffee. There was no restaurant. Inside the rooms are signs saying "You are not allowed to eat in the room" and yet there was no central courtyard or even chairs to have a seat outside so you can get take out. It wouldn't be so bad if you were in the center but the location is far away. They could at least support their guests! In the low season, most restaurants are closed on Maria Pia beach. It felt inhospitable -- with signs everywhere of things you cannot do: "No changing towels - if you change towels the fee is 8 euros" --- "No eating in the rooms" --- "Please shower outside after the beach" --- "Front desk is only available from 9AM -1PM"
Location -- it was 3.5 kilometers from the city center. Very close to the best beach in Alghero, Maria Pia. We arrived early in the morning -- they gave us the only room they had available which happened to be a very large room. It was nice that we were able to check in early. The rooms are cleaned daily. The building is beautiful in period style and it felt like old southern Italy. Perhaps due to the pandemic, it feels a little downtrodden and neglected -- but I can imagine it to be a very beautiful happy place in more normal times.
