Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomI booked a twin room, got a double room instead. Not a big deal. Room was nicely decorated and clean, but quite small.
Excellent location, 3 minutes walk from the water buses and less than a minute from the main road, with shops and restaurants. Friendly staff, nice deco, good breakfast. I would stay again. Good price, comparing to other hotels.

CanadaHotel Villa Edera, located on the island of Lido, was a quiet refuge from the busyness of Venice. The accommodation was exceptionally clean and the decor added a cosy welcoming feel. We had a wonderful breakfast every morning. There were many restaurants in the area within walking distance, and it was so easy to take the water buses to any part of the Venice area. We really enjoyed our evening walks in the Lido area after spending busy days in Venice. We would highly recommend staying there.

ItalyIt wasn’t a problem specifically this time but , as often happens, walls are particularly thin or not so sound-proof so neighbouring rooms could be heard well.
Quiet street in Lido, but close to the vaporetto stop, easy come easy go to and from Venezia main island and the nearby ones like Burano. Nice Hotel, a vintage Villa refurbished.

Czech RepublicPoor watered juice for breakfast, only small cups for tea. Very unpractical bathtub/shower (small and with step in it) in our room. Hard bed and pillow for us, but some people like it. Would recommend to add the "do not disturb" signs for housekeeping.
Very good location, close to the vaporetto dock, beaches and the main street with shops and restaurant. Good breakfast, seating mainly outside. Nice "old fashioned" atmosphere. The room was clean, housekeeping was active. Our room had a huge terrace with outdoor seating. Very nice views of the neighboring villas.

SwitzerlandThe room was quite small with a lot of furniture in it and the shower was so tiny you couldn't really move freely. Also, the walls were quite thin and so you could hear the neighbours from time to time, as well as the lift bell, though we slept pretty well. On the whole, the hotel is fine and functional, just a little tired around the edges. We were slightly disappointed given the price we paid.
The staff welcomed us very warmly and explained everything. The location is an easy walk from the boat terminal on Lido di Venezia. The breakfast was decent with good choice and the room was clean and functional.

NetherlandsThe bathroom was a bit small but not really a problem for us. I did find it to have a faint smell of old cigarette smoke, but my gf didn't notice it.
The hotel has a great atmosphere because it is a bit older but seems well maintained. The breakfast was very good. My gf has gluten intolerance which we communicated at the time of booking. They promptly responded and provided her, every morning, with a variety of glutenfree alternatives. This was much appreciated. The staff was friendly and the room was good. We enjoyed our stay very much.

GeorgiaWe have not been offered safe option (it is free) from the beginning and 50 euros disappeared one day from our bag. Then we were offered a safe.
It was great location if you want to reach beach and Venice both. The room was clean and big enough. At night even with open window it was rather quite. Breakfast was great too. Around there were plenty of restaurants but the. Best food locations you need to book in advance.

RomaniaIt was not 100% impossible, but it was more like a lottery to get a good night's sleep in the room we were in. The entire construction seems to shake when somebody slams a door, the neighboring rooms flooded us with noise, from a light switch being flipped to the footsteps of a fellow tourist. The first night was a nightmare, because a drunken man would yell outside until 4am, and that would not be a major issue if the windows at least tried to stop some of the noise, but it was like they were wide open. This being said, I think this is a great hotel for 2-3 nights stay tops, with a focus on work or partying, but if your aim is to rest for a week and recharge your batteries, maybe wait until they get a chance to upgrade the location. The bathrooms also need to be brought to the 2020's with some upgrade, but only in terms of design and some functionality, the cleanliness is excellent.
I dare any other traveler that would eventually stay here to show me a property that is so wonderfully situated: near the transportation hub, near markets and shops (and the only bar open till 02am), near the good beaches (and an Enoteca), in a historic part of a city but in the same time on a secondary street that doesn't get much traffic. In terms of location, staff quality and value for money, in a rather special part of the world, it's hard (I dare say impossible) to find something better than Villa Edera. Cleanliness was a perfect 10/10. Breakfast was satisfactory for the price range, with diversity and above-average quality. Front desk was courteous and the kitchen and cleaning staff always trying to assist.

FinlandRoom for two was too small for two weeks stay. Missing a balcony in a room. As an option common balcony would have been also nice to have. Nice outdoor terrace but should add tables and chairs also under the sun instead of a car. The car should park somewhere else, not front of the terrace.
Good location, service and breakfast. Clean hotel. Thank you!
