Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomStaff and Owners invited us into their very special hotel with grace and utmost care. Great advice for novice walkers, they gave us privacy to enjoy the hotel and its facilities yet welcomed us as extended family.

AustriaThe shower didn't get hot sometimes. It was a bit weird that we didn't get the WIFI access automatically at checkin and no one picked up the phone, had to go to the reception.
Breakfast was great, but a lot of things were not available at buffett and had to be ordered at a woman who didn't speak very well English.

United KingdomWe could have done with a chest of drawers in our bedroom for storage. There were a couple of free drawers in a chest in the bathroom which we used but it was not ideal for access. Other than this no complaints
Given room upgrade on arrival which was much appreciated. We had a good sized room with a huge private terrace and large modern bathroom.Breakfast on the terrace was delicious and served in a timely manner. We ate both in the Bistro and the Michelin starred restaurant , food in both excellent. Pool was clean and there were plenty of sunny and shaded areas around. Staff were very helpful throughout our stay. Easy access to hotel from station , so good to visit other areas by train.

United KingdomAll was extremely good
Superbly lovely people. Moneglia itself is great. The staff throughout were lovely. Make an effort to chat to the owners. Incredibly helpful and friendly welcome …. I arrived by bike. The pool area was good, views great and personally the sounds of the trains coming by I found comforting. Perhaps in part as ‘train’ as my way out for the bike having cycled down in such steep roads. The breakfast was excellent and a very pleasant setting for evening drinks. The other guests were pleasant people too and the rooms great and well thought through. Good WiFi A most enjoyable stay and a place I would happily return to and look forward to, for longer

United KingdomShower over bath tub tended to leak on to floor. Tea and coffee making facility in the room would be nice but I was kindly given a small kettle on request thank you.
We loved our three day break to this lovely family run hotel which was so conveniently located near the station, the village, beach and of course the beautiful Cinque Terre region. The staff were friendly and welcoming and we were able to check in early. Our room was bright and very tastefully decorated with large balcony overlooking the mountain and the gorgeous outdoor pool. The bed was really comfortable.Breakfast was served in the lovely garden and terrace outside and there was a large choice of eggs cheese ham pastries fruit and cereals. The home made yoghurt was particularly delicious. We hope to return to this little oasis of calm sometime and can strongly recommend it as a base to visit the Cinque Terre region.

United KingdomOur otherwise lovely suite didn’t have a shower but a big bath … not a problem for a few days but for longer bit of a pain and worth a change I think.
The staff are wonderful and the breakfast and lunch if you choose to have, amazing. Gorgeous pool and a place where you really can go and super relax. Has a beautiful family run feel about the place which adds to the feeling of attentiveness.

United Kingdomeverything was perfect - thank you team
The Hotel Villa Edera is an exceptional place to stay. I could not rate it highly enough. The location was convenient for arrival by train along the Cinque du Terre route with a few minutes walk to the centre of Moneglia and the beach. The family and staff are exceptional and the design and decor of the hotel is perfect. We enjoyed breakfast (the best breakfast, just delicious) and some fabulous meals at the bistro (unfortunately the restaurant was fully booked well in advance so we were unable to eat there - next time though!) Look out for resident cat and dog very friendly.

United Arab EmiratesThe room, while beautifully decorated, is very small and lacks practicality. The balcony offers little privacy, leading to a feeling of disorder and chaos during our stay. The limited space even resulted in the cleaners removing our cushions due to the lack of storage. Given the nightly rate, the room did not offer good value for money.
Hotel Villa Edera & Torretta is a stunning hotel with views overlooking the picturesque countryside. Barbara warmly welcomed us upon arrival and gave us a tour of the property. The pool area is lovely, although only one gazebo provides shade. The restaurant is outstanding and offers a secluded dining experience with breathtaking views. The hotel's proximity to the train station, just a 5-minute walk away, makes exploring nearby towns like Portofino and Santa Margherita very convenient. While the train station's convenience is a plus, the noise from passing trains can be a downside.

United KingdomStrange impractical room, was probably once two rooms and made into one. This made it large and the air con struggled to cool it down - we had to strip the beds from their plastic sheets and mattress liners and were still very hot. Room only had a bath and no shower so had to wash for four days in a bathtub. No dressing area (shelves, drawers, cupboards, hooks) just a hanging rail so lived out of suitcases. Unexpected experience for such an upmarket hotel!
Swimming pool is rare in this part of Italy and the poolside drinks service (sometimes free) was great. Nice styling in room and the interiors generally. Toiletries and robes are a very nice touch. Lift is useful from station.

United KingdomHotel was too formal for us; is perfect for guests who enjoy dining in the hotel each evening ; restaurant has excellent reviews I think it would be beneficial if tea/coffee facilities and complimentary water were in each bedroom A casual poolside drinks/snack service would also be good ( was provided upon request ) hotel may not suit travellers with mobility issues as lots of steps we found bathroom and particularly shower enclosure too small
Very good hotel in beautiful seaside town of Moneglia Staff very welcoming Comfortable beds Great swimming pool Very good breakfast great location for walking and seeing the sights on this coastline and very easy access to train station
