Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaLots of steep steps from Taormina centre- the bus stop is very close but a problem at night - no late buses and texts hard to get
Very pretty Villa accommodation with beautiful views from the breakfast terrazzo. Host Sebastiano could not have been more helpful.

AustraliaNothing we didn’t like. Great value, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay
Loved our stay here. Rustic, earthy, quirky real Italian gem. The view is amazing and the location is fabulous. There are steps into the centre of town a few metres from the villa. The bus stop is also very close. Sebastiano is the most helpful, kind, easy going host. Breakfast for 6 euro is highly recommended, delicious and great value. Would definitely stay here again!

United StatesThe owner, Sebastian, was a delite. Our room was tastefully decorated with Sicilian antiques. We had a beautiful view from our room. We felt very private, with a patio draped with grape vines. The pool was pretty and felt great on a hot day.

United KingdomThere was building work close by and the entrance is a bit scruffy but once you’re inside the property is very authentic. We would have liked tea and coffee in the room, not just a kettle.
Fantastic views, pretty gardens, wonderful pool and relaxing chairs. I wasn’t able to walk very well (stress fracture in pelvis!) so the bus stop at the end of the road right into the centre was a real bonus. Sebastiano was very welcoming and helpful and served a good breakfast each morning. good restaurant very close too.

RomaniaEverything was really perfect
The accommodation offers a perfect location, close to Taormina city center but also in a very quite region, with breathtaking views. Sebastian is the most friendly host we have encountered during our 8-days trip in Sicily. The breakfast was super delicious, with a variety of options to choose from. The pool was a super nice addition to everything. Cannot recommend enough!

AustraliaThe most wonderful little charming villa with a view to the whole Taormina and Castelmola. Seba is the most incredible host and helped us with bus connections, breakfast, iron, umbrella and everything else we needed. Property is located close to the bus stop to the city and there are also stairs that can be taken to the centre. Villa is absolutely magical, you’re surrounded by mountains, view to the Etna & couple Little kittens. The pool and the facilities are clean/the room looked almost like a beautiful Italian traditional museum. There’s also great restaurant with pizza and pasta right next to it with the view straight to the volcano. Me and my mum had a great stay. 10/10

Great location, spectacular views and Sebastiano could not have been more welcoming or helpful. There is a local restaurant that is very good, but busy, so you do need to book in advance… especially for your first night…

Absolutely beautiful! Stunning views! Sebastiano is so accommodating, I honestly have the best things to say about him, he was so lovely and knowledgeable. Such an authentic Italian accommodation, whilst also feeling so homely. It is a little away from the centre, but a bus down is just 100metres away, or you can walk which takes about 30 mins - we had a pram, so didn’t take the steps and it was no real bother. At the end of the road is a beautiful restaurant and our favourite is a bar for aperetivo with a perfect view of Mt Etna

Amazing location, the view is unmatched, and the pool is a great addition. It felt like there was only a few rooms at the place, so it was super private. Seba was an amazing host, helping us with everything and always making us feel at home.

United KingdomNothing! But I would make people note that you are a 10 minute walk up a steep staircase to get back to the B&B. There is also two buses (some more frequent than others) or the option of a taxi.
Sebastian was a great host and very caring towards his guests! The breakfast he made us every morning was delicious and well worth it! The views from the B&B were stunning, especially when you opened your room door to them every morning. The pool views were also lovely. The location of the B&B to us was great as the town centre of Taromina is packed full of tourists and you got to get away from the chaos when you returned to the B&B. It was peaceful and calming and the views you get of Mount Etna when you leave the B&B are insane!

United KingdomThe outside spaces needed some attention. A good sweep and removing old broken furniture off the site would help. The path to the pool was very overgrown. No hot water in the shower for the days we were there. The room was described as having a sea view but you couldn't see this until you stood outside.
The view from the terraces was amazing. The host Sebastiano was very helpful. The room was filled with antique furniture and quirky items like old puppets and lots of faces looking at you. The pool was good and had wonderful views.

United KingdomNothing to dislike. Property is up the hill from Taormina so if you want to be right in the centre this is not the property for you.
Super B and B up on the hill above Taormina. Traditional Sicilian decoration in rooms and breakfast terrace. The host was very helpful and shared maps, taxi info down to Taormina and provided a super breakfast for us at a little additional cost. Pool is in a stunning setting , with amazing view. Steps down to Taormina from the end of the road where the B and B is take you right into the centre of Taormina. Long climb back up but easy to get a taxi or bus back up.

NetherlandsThe rooms and the garden area could use more maintenance and cleaning. The bathroom fan was quite loud. No public bathroom available after check-out.
We have stayed at Villa Almoezia for 2 nights at the end of our Sicily trip. Owner Sebastiano and his wife were very kind in welcoming us to the villa and showing us around the area and terrain. We consider the Taormina area slightly more expensive then more southern area’s of Sicily’s east-coast and believe that this Villa has a decent price/quality ratio that makes it a good decision for this time of year (May 2024). From the Villa you can go down a beautiful but long set of stairs (540+) to arrive at the top of Taormina. We really enjoyed doing this twice as it is an easy non steep staircase with a beautiful view on the Taormina bay area. To return to the villa, you can either go by buss or take a taxi/uber. The rooms and general layout are very traditional and classic. If you are into modern facilities or rooms, you should book elsewhere. But in the basis the room had a comfortable bed, air-conditioning and a nice view on the Lettojani beach area and the idyllic Castelmola. If you book here, consider that there is only one lunch restaurant with a limited lunch menu in the direct vicinity of the villa. Don't go there. Also consider bringing your own water, drinks, snacks etc. before arriving – as there are limited options to purchase this on the location. We recommend bringing some cash in advance as you need to pay the tourist tax and breakfast in cash. What stood out positively was the kindness of the hosts and the attentive breakfast that you get in the morning. Sebastiano even proactively drove me to Castelmola to visit the ATM with a view. The heartfelt good morning we received from Sebastiano and his wife, we will remember for long. Thank you very much.
