Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

NetherlandsCareful with your car on the way up and down because the path is a bit narrow and or steep at some points.
Beautiful Villa and private gardens up the hill. Still a bit of work to do around the house and garden but the atmosphere is great. Inside it is beautifully decorated, the room are a mix of modern and classic done in a tasteful manner. Very quiet surroundings . Private parking next to the house. Our host Bruno was very nice. We were offered a glass of wine when we arrived. He gave us a free upgrade to a large suite. We loved the breakfast!

GermanyWe got a small hiccup when we arrived. We arrived the place and got a different room which costs less than what we have paid for. But the staff on site couldn’t speak good English so we had to text the manager. Then the manager offered the discount and told us why. If we had been informed once there is any change made for our booked room that would be better. But overall it has been resolved.
It’s a very beautiful house. And the staff is wonderfully nice and helpful.

BelgiumAn elegant historical villa with antique furniture and art and also a nice painting collection makes it an amazing place to relax! The owner Bruno and his staff were very attentive and incredibely helpful ! .. and the most friendly was the dog Sharik ( especially after when he received from us a big piece of meat after dinner in restaurant .))) Breakfast was really delicious with enough choice ,very fresh and good quality. We enjoyed our crumbled eggs with cherry tomatoes from the garden. Our room had a big nice balcony with round table and chairs and large new bathroom with nice view on the garden. I loved the beautiful mint coloured walls in our room! We had coffee and thee in our room , water and beer in the fridge. Our daughter had a also a very pretty room. The Villa is surrounded by beautiful trees what keeps the house cool , we switched off the cooling system and enjoyed summer nights. I did read reviews where guests give 1,0… common guys… i should not want to have such guests in my property !! We were happy to have parking for free in this area and behind a closed gates what you can sleep and not be worried about you car and if you can’t park nicely ( there is plenty place) ask owner Bruno , he wil do it for you! Otherwise you can always book a hotel with standard services and random surroundings.

NetherlandsIt could be quite warm in the apartment. The windows open gave enough cool air but as I'm sensitive to light that woke me kinda early. I would've preferred a ceiling fan or something. Breakfast could have had a bit more variety and preferably fresh juice in stead of the usual juice from a carton. But we loved the fresh bread and fresh cut fruit. We thought the kitchen would actually be a kitchen but it was only a little hotel fridge (full with drinks),a sink and a microwave. The lock on our door was a bit of a challenge haha.
The property was breathtakingly beautiful. Someone in the comments said it was old: that person doesn't understand historic buildings! Of course it's old, that makes it so wonderful and gorgeous! The building was very well maintained, had beautiful artwork everywhere and just oozed royalty and luxury. Our apartment had ceilings so high you could fit a giraffe ;) and we felt like a count and countess staying there. We had a large balcony with views of the village and lots of trees. There was so much space in our apartment, we loved it! And everything was very fresh and clean and looked very well maintained. Outside there was a patio with a fountain and some flowers, where we had breakfast and sometimes dinner as well. Surrounded by large trees, with some views of the village and cute lights it was nice to hang out there. Breakfast was nice, just enough choice and good quality food. Dinner was also nice. Up the hill there was more garden with wandering chicken, horses and a goat. Bruno was a great host. He told about the history of the property and all the artwork. He showed us all the other rooms after people left: the attic was also amazing! You could also play the piano if you want, or go for a hike or lesson with the horses. In the near future there will also be a spa with infinity pool!

Italythere was a leaking problem with the sink in the chalet bathroom, other than that everything else was really nice.
Bruno the owner was very professional and approachable, there was a misunderstanding during the booking procedure and so the they before our arrival we have been told that the villa was not available , however Bruno offered many option and we decided to stay in the chalet inside the villa’s garden which was very pretty. the villa itself is amazing and well kept, perfect for relaxation and recharge the body. breakfast was served in the villa’s garden which was even better than inside with quiet a few variety and good quality.

Our room gave access to a private tower (yes !) with a splendid view over the surroundings. The owner Bruno was adorable and professional. He gave us a bottle of prosecco for my girlfriend's birthday, and some fresh eggs when we left. The villa was astonishing, and quiet.

Switzerlandbefore arriving there, the owner called us on the phone saying we have to bring cash as their credit card reader doesn‘t work at the moment (if you go through older reviews you can clearly see that this has been the case for quite some time). our room (junior suite) was € 216.-. when we checked out, his employee had the correct price for our room on his mobilephone, however, tried to ask for € 260.- (my fiancee put € 250.- on the table and he asked for more!) when i realized this, i told him and he was playing innocent. on top, they didn‘t have change. this is impossible if your credit card reader doesn‘t work and you expect your guests to pay in cash. luckily, another guest who checked out too payed some euros too much to cover the difference — thanks again to this unknown friend. the building itself was beautiful once. however, its not clean, some of the things are broken (stairs (which were just fixed when we arrived), tea mugs with broken handles the park/garden is in bad condition (plants are not taken care of, building materials and garbage everywhere), if you walk up to the animals, everything looks unfinished, animal dung on the stairs through the park. they have two quite big dogs running around on the property. they are well behaved but we weren‘t introduced to them and one night after dinner, we came back to the property and they were barking and ran towards us. that‘s the first time we‘ve met them. not necessarily the best experience either. the pictures were taken loooong ago. it doesn‘t look and feel like this anymore.
make sure to read the details below, but: the structure of the villa is beautiful, the huge garden/park has potential IF (big if) the owner puts in the needed time, love, and money.
