it was exceptionally clean and well kept! beyond that, the community within the hostels were so welcoming and kind. the free breakfast was amazing as well, with many options (fruit, bread, pastry, cereal, juices, etc.)! overall, i genuinely loved my stay here, and i hope i can return again :)

Having so many volunteers was weird at first, but quickly became a very nice thing; the place was friendly and fun. The kitchen was great, complete with oven: I made lasagne. Breakfast was good. It's not that clean but I know that has more to about the other guests and nothing about the staff, the AC doesn't work properly.

The staff is very friendly, the location is ideal and very centric, less than 10 minutes walking to the train station, the building looks pretty, it's very safe. They offer lockers, you must bring your lock. If you get the chance to do the Spyros tour, do it, it was a nice experience.

Maybe the Wi-Fi could at times be a bit better and if the doors of the main building are locked, it’s a bit hard to get inside on your own (02:00-08:00)

Arriving at the hostel, I immediately felt comfortable and at home. The mood there is really amazing, it feels like living in a shared flat with many amazing people. The common rooms are designed friendly and homey, which provided an indescribable familiar feeling. The little balcony is a very nice addition to the rooms. During the night, they turn on the air conditioning inside the bedrooms so it is easy to sleep even during the hottest days. In general, the beds were cozy and clean and the mattresses and sheets did not have that icky plastic-y feeling. The bathrooms are the most modern and clean facilities I’ve ever experienced in hostels and the staff really makes efforts to keep it that way. Overall the staff is super nice and friendly and even open to do things together. The experience with the other guests was also super respectful and open. In my case they weren’t super interested in spending time with new people but that may differ with the duration of the stay and the groups. They provide you with a super helpful website which they created especially for their guests which tells you everything about the hostel and even gives you detailed tips for activities in and around Genova. If I will come back to Genova, I will definitely stay at the Victoria house hostel again, that’s for sure!

I liked the management of the shared spaces: very well structured to provide an experience of relaxation and familiarity. I was also satisfied with the room, the girls I met, the cleanliness of the rooms. The reception staff were really friendly. Cool hostel in an interesting old building, very close to Genova Brignole station, and about half an hour walk from the Genova Piazza Principe station. You might hear trains and traffic in the night if windows are open, so light sleepers might want to consider that. There is no party noise though. The breakfast was surprisingly good, and the setting (around a big table) made it convenient to get to know fellow travellers. Although the food offered was simple (toast, cakes, fruit), everything was good quality and tasty! The wifi worked well.

Loved the hostel overall. Breakfast was great, the staff was helpful, and the beds were comfortable. Cleanliness also was very good and the location was great, right next to a train station and close to shops like supermarkets and restaurant. The hostel also partners with a tour guide named Spyro who's tour is simply the best walking tour I've ever done in Europe (and I've done many) so I can definitely recommend it! It's a must if you stay here :-)

I payed for 3 breakfast and the last day I had to leave for my train without even the chance to get anything to eat because the staff that was supposed to open the living room and start the breakfast didn’t even appear. They were very inconsiderate with the food in your fridge because when I walked to the kitchen all my stuff was thrown away in the trash and another girl said the same thing.

The top bunk had the short straw as there’s no curtain there. The fridge could be cleaned more often.

Very cozy social hostel. Very easy to get on with people. Quiet during sleeping hours good spread for breakfast (including plant milk for cereals). The kitchen was really well equipped. Spyro’s walking tour is an absolute must.

The location is great and being close to the train station means it's super easy to go for day trips. All the staff were kind, and overall this is a lovely, great value, chill hostel.
