Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

CroatiaHotel was far away from town, the ladie on the reception didn't tell us specific how to get to the centre with public transport, some bus stations are closed to and from that hotel. Uphill hotel. Room could have been cleaner and it was extremely hot inside when we came. And the view was awful, we looked in backyard that is in pretty rough shape
Nice breakfast, you get towels.

Czech RepublicWhen we arrived I checked the room and I noticed that the sink wasn't clean. Toothpaste marks were still on it and the mirror was full of water strains. The shower was a little bit messy because the shower curtain wasn't long enough to avoid water from going out. The air-conditioning was old and it didn't cool properly, it was late at night (around 11pm) and it was too hot we couldn't sleep, so we opened the window but it wasn't working so after calling a few times to the 24/7 number we were given, someone answered and said someone will go and fix it in 10 min. 30 minutes passed and no one arrived and they didn't answer the phone again. So we decided to turn it on again bcs it was noisy outside and as hot as with the AC. It was at that moment that we realized they fixed the AC!! But no one ever called us to let us know. But we were happy they fixed it as soon as possible (even if we didn't know).
The location was great. It was very easy to get to the center and the view from the hotel to the city was very nice 🌇 The staff was very nice.

United KingdomToilet didn't flush properly. Mixed thoughts on location. Good views, but hadn't realised how far it was from shops/restaurants(there was one nearby, which turned out to be a good one). It was on a bus route, which was fortunate as we were walking.

ItalyThe room was tiny, the size didn't bother me but it felt like a really high price for this kind of room. Especially due to the that the fact that its location is a bit far remoted from the main city. So if you're not traveling with a car you can take the bus or walk, about 30-40 minutes to the gate entrance. There's not much to do around the hotel.
The staff was really kind! Breakfast was great And it was clean, both the room and the rest of the hotel.

AustraliaAdvertised room service - there wasn’t Advertised as 24 hour reception- it isn’t. The room was miniscule with the non-adjustable air con set at what felt like 30 degrees - the room was like a sauna. The single room contained a child-sized single bed pushed hard up against the wall with a large wardrobe leaning precariously over it and a TV perched on top of the wardrobe. The shower cubicle was tiny. The room was also very noisy - you could hear people in the next room as well as road noise.
Hotel operators were friendly and polite.

TurkeyEverything was perfect. If you have a car it a perfect location but if it’s not I suggest you rent a car because there are no buses coming to the hotel late in the evening and transportation becomes impossible
