Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesThat we didn't stay longer!
Lyuba and Marco were the most gracious hosts we encountered during our 2 week honeymoon in Italy. They provided great tips on getting around to places we wanted to see, made reservations on our behalf, shared stories over breakfast like we were all a family — I could go on and on. They went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable. This was the best stay for us in our entire trip, just because of their hospitality. Thank you so much and we'll be back! 😀

United StatesThe windows would benefit with some type of covering to block the sun light. longer in the day, that’s not to say they don’t have curtains, they do but they’re sheer. We got in after a long journey w/ o sleep and jet lagged so we wanted to take a nap in the middle of the day and the sun was hitting us despite the curtains being closed.l Another thing, a tea kettle to make tea would be good.

United StatesMy family and I had an unforgettable stay at this beautiful bed and breakfast near Vatican City. The historic building, complete with a charming 1936 German lift, added to the authentic Roman experience. Our hosts, Lyuba and Marco, were incredibly welcoming and went above and beyond to ensure our stay was perfect. Their hospitality truly made us feel at home. The location was ideal, the rooms were spotless, and the breakfast was delicious. We highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Rome. Thank you, Lyuba and Marco, for a wonderful stay!

United StatesWe just returned from Roma, where we spent three nights at Vatica B&B. Here's a Top Seven (for the hills of Rome) List of Things We Loved about Vatica B&B: 1) Our hosts, Lyuba and Marco, were exceptional. Like having guardian angels for our stay. When we arrived, after 14 hours of flying, at 10 p.m., Marco greeted us and then walked us a couple of blocks to an osteria that was nearby. Every morning Lyuba and Marco sat at the family-style breakfast table, where we were overwhelmed by the delicious pastries and fruit. Lyuba would pull out a map of Rome and talk to us about our plans for the day. Marco would kindly but firmly remind me that wedge-shaped foods (quiche, tarts, pizza) are never to be eaten with a fork. "John, that is illegal here," he'd say. 2) The MOST comfortable mattress in our outside of Rome. As much as we wanted to tour the city, we were tempted to hit the "snooze" on our phones. 3) A lovely tree-lined street. Oak trees, I believe, that have grown as high or higher than the 5-story buildings on the street. They brought an aesthetic value but also dissipated the street noise. 4) The room was clean and comfortable for two people. All of the plumbing is modern and the shower was HOT with excellent pressure. 5) Convenience. The nearest M stop is just two blocks away and the Vatican is a 5- to 10-minute walk from the front door. 6) The room had an espresso maker and mini fridge, plenty of closet space, and even a couch (that I used to store my suitcase and overflow stuff). 7) I must return to Lyuba and Marco. They are what set Vatica B&B apart. You must picture them. Marco, with his clean-shaven head and the physique of someone who could ride in the Tour de France (or at least Tour d'Italia), is a striking figure. Lyuba is also fit but what comes across is her infectious warmth. On the morning we left, she handed us a bag of treats for our train trip while Marco placed a bottle of red wine into my hands.

Luba and Marco were fantastic hosts. They gave us a crash course on how to move about Rome and suggested places to visit and restaurants to try. They booked reservations for us for dinner at two locations, answered messages at any time of the day, and their breakfast was an entire feast. Marco and Luba also woke up earlier and made us a breakfast to go on the day we checked out although it was before breakfast hours. The building is classic and well kept, there is a very old lift that was in perfect condition that we used to get to the 4th floor. The room was neat and spacious and we had our own private bathroom and keys to the main entrance as well as the BnB and our room. We felt safe and really enjoyed the privacy of our room. We are so grateful to have been able to stay at Vatica BnB Rome and will definitely come back. Thank you Luba and Marco for a wonderful stay!

CanadaLyuba and Marco are the most excellent hosts that we have stayed in our travels around the world. Property is well appointed, big, spacious and bright rooms. Near to the substation in Rome, and about 15 minutes to the historical centre. Far enough away to experience real Rome and not just the touristy areas. Lyuba and Marco make a WONDERFUL and very filling breakfast ( definitely too full for lunch) and were awesome in helping us book restaurants and taxis and make sure we saw all of the best of Rome. They are super friendly and accommodating. Even when I had a family emergency, they were super kind in helping me organize my travel home for a few days, and looked after my family while I was away, so it didn’t ruin their holiday. Choose the two bedroom suite!

United StatesI cannot think of anything negative to say
If looking for close-to-Vatican BnB you cannot do better than this apartment. The guests are exceptionally welcoming and preparing a wonderful breakfast daily. While eating breakfast with you, they can give you all information on sights to visit, transportation advice and restaurant recommendations. They keep the apartment immaculately clean. We had two rooms rented, each with a separate key, each with its own bathroom. The public secure parking is just 2 blocks away, 20E for 24h, or there is some limited street parking available. There is an elevator to get you this 4th floor apartment which makes carrying bags up a breeze. Walk to the Vatican is literally 10 min. Metro station is 5 min away. There are local restaurants near by but I would definitely ask for host-recommendations. We asked the hosts to reserve the table, and we never regretted it. Maco and Lyuba are exceptionally friendly and helpful, and I wish them wonderful guests in return. We recommend this BnB wholeheartedly.

RomaniaIt is a clean and quiet place, we had an excellent breakfast together with the hosts - Marco and Lyuba. We stayed 2 full days in Rome, Lyuba made our route for the 2 days, we didn't need any other guide. We even ate at the restaurants recommended by her. Overall it was a great experience for us, when we come back to Rome, we would love to stay here again.

United StatesThis is out of the hosts control but the street traffic and noise of guests coming back to the their rooms woke us up every night. Like any big city you will hear cars/motor bikes/people/garbage trucks at all hours of the evening. The front door of the B&B is heavy. If you don't take your time closing it the door will slam. I ask future guests to be aware of this and be nice neighbors :)
Wow! This was our first stop on a three Europe trip and Vatica B&B set the bar so high no other property could match. Marco and Lyuba were extremely accommodating. On our first morning over breakfast, they opened a map and discussed all the attractions to see in Rome. Speaking of breakfast...exceptional! Rooms were very clean with a good shower. Location was excellent. About a 10 minute walk to the Vatican and 45 minute walk to the Colosseum. Metro station was a five minute walk.

United StatesOur stay at Vatica B&B Roma was fantastic! The location is perfect for visiting the Vatican, safe, cute restaurants and convenient to the metro. The rooms are spacious, comfortable, clean and decorated so cute! The cherry on top though is Marco & Lyuba. These are two of the sweetest human beings you will ever meet. They serve an incredible breakfast each morning and on the mornings our tours/flights were scheduled before breakfast time, they were gracious enough to pack us our meal to-go. Their daughter Georgia was kind enough to sit down and show us all the area of Rome and share some great places to eat & hangout. Rome was our last stop on our Italy vacation, staying here and meeting Marco, Lyuba and Georgia instantly made us want to come back. I highly recommend you stay here and have a chance to meet genuinely nice people in their lovely B&B
