Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

SerbiaThe only thing, but really minor one, is the noise from the street. Tram, traffic, ambulance cars...can be a little too much for someone. I had earplugs and our baby slept with the noise cancelling sound machine so everything was fine at the end. Would book again next time we come to Rome!
Apartment is in the main street of Trastavere, train station is 3 min walk from the apartment, so it is easy to come from and to the airport. There is tram 8 on the street that goes to Piazza Venezia, so it is close to the city centar! It is a beautiful neighborhood, with lots of reastaurants and fast foods. The owner and the staff is really helpful, ready to help at any times.

United KingdomWhile the location was close to Trastevere Roma, which we got directly to from the Airport, the accommodation was a bus ride away from Central Rome for sights such as the Coliseum, Trevi Fountain, Pantheon and Spanish Steps. It is walkable (30 minutes), but towards the end of our stay the heatwave really kicked in and we couldn't walk long distances.
Adele, the contact, was great with communication and was very helpful in recommendations for places to eat. The accommodation was spotless and cleaned everyday. We were allowed to leave our luggage in the communal area as we were travelling later in the day we checked out. It was a sweet set up, ideal for our needs and good AC, which is essential in summer. The vouchers for Cafe Banno were a great bonus, authentic Italian coffee and pastry in a bustling cafe 3 minutes walk away. We went back there for the huge sandwiches too. Great value for money.

United KingdomNo surface area in the bathroom for wash bags, bath/shower gel in plastic sachets are quite messy.
Location is very convenient: 30min train from airport, 15min bus to centre of Rome. A free coffee and a pastry for breakfasts with vouchers at a nearby cafe, and you can purchase pizza or extra pastries at very reasonable prices, all very tasty. The rome is clean and staff are very responsive to our needs. The kitchen facility is useful and we made some hot porridge to supplement coffee breakfast.

United KingdomThe only negative ones were the noise from the street at nights and the breakfast wasn't full, ham cheese eggs and fruits were missing.
The area is very nice, Trastevere trattorias were the best. They provided us with gluten free breakfast (biscuits, toast bread, plumcakes, jam and coffee) which is amazing! The shampoo and shower gel samples were limited, so we asked and they brought us big ones! 😀 In general, the communication and service were excellent and fast! We would visit again 🙂

RomaniaThere were two single beds next to each other instead of a queen size bed. The floor was made of something like marble which was really cold so make you bring slippers. The room was right in front of the street and it was really noisy due to traffic. Towels were not changed even though the room service entered our room every day.
The location was good, really close to train, bus and tram stations. Also very close to the city center (only 40 mins walk). The checkin was very smooth and the personal girls were very kind. Even though the checkout was at 10 AM we were not rushed and we could leave our baggages there for the rest of the day.

GreeceIt was difficult to warm the room with the air conditioner. it was a little bit old. Also the breakfast was wow. it was a typical Italian breakfast, coffee, croissant, marmalade and toasted bread. And the hair dryer was really small!
The room was quite big. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was nice. The apartment was closed to public transportation. You can also walk in order to reach the city centre, approximately 30-40 minutes on foot.

ItalyBeing on a high floor is very quiet and can't hear traffic nor the tram that goes by. The view from the vindow was lovely overlooking the rooths of Rome. The room was simple but clean with big bathroom and nice hair dryer. Both tv and wifi were working fine. Upon entrance to the property there is a lovely kithchen with coffee maker, microwave and fridge. In the vicinity to the apartment there are a lot of shops and a couple of restaurants and also a railway station. Owner very polite and welcoming.

United Arab EmiratesNothing is chic apart from the name. It is a shame to pay this much amount of money for this quality I was shocked : 2 poor tiny beds with foam mattresses, no soap for the shower you have to use the hand soap, no fridge or bottle of water. The windows are on the street side and it’s very noisy, and the outside curtains are not closing until the end so you are woken up by the light
The location is great next to the train station to/from airport and city center is reachable by foot (30min). I like the area. WiFi is working great and you have tea/coffee at your disposal + breakfast (coffee and croissant) in the bar next to the station. The host was responsive and helpful
