Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

RomaniaSoundproofing should be improved! I would not recommend this hotel for those seeking a good night sleep! It was super loud from the restaurant upstairs and very very noisy from crowd downstairs, we could hear everything from the room. The bed was very uncomfortable.
The location of this hotel is everything. Try to book a room with a view to the Cathedral, it is really worth it, you would feel like you are in the center of everything. Keep in mind that the hotel does not have elevator and you have to climb quite a few stairs. The room was quite small but was very clean and the staff really nice and polite. We booked with breakfast, and it was really worth it for the view especially, as it was breathtaking.

United StatesBathrooms have no counter space and no hooks to hang towels. There are many steps to arrive at the hotel, when you enter the reception area, there are more steps to climb with your luggage and no one to help you, so you better be strong and have good knees to stay here. There are always a few night owls laughing, talking, shouting loudly plus garbage crew cleaning at night, so don’t expect to sleep soundly.
Room had the beautiful view of the duomo and restaurant scene below.

United KingdomThe bathroom feels outdated and the shower was fairly small, not huge issues but I feel like this lets the room down. Our air conditioner also leaked creating a puddle on the floor.
Great location in the centre of town, really close to the beach and port so not far to walk with luggage. Breakfast on the rooftop is a really nice experience, good range of food and the staff were really nice.

United KingdomPaid for a room with a balcony which advertises the duomo view but we had a back alley view which was a little disappointing, but the room was still perfect for what we needed for the night.
It was super central and the staff were lovely enough to send me a WhatsApp with a little map on how to get there as it’s just off some stairs by one of the patisseries so we wouldn’t of found it otherwise. It was very clean and felt very safe and tucked away from the hustle and bustle of the main streets. The staff were also very lovely and helpful. Breakfast was also very good.

CanadaBe prepared to carry your bags up stairs. No sign to indicate the building is a hotel. Reception had to meet me in town centre and show us where it was. Noisey because it is located at town centre.

United KingdomThe bed was not always the most comfortable. It was a very thin, hard mattress and it also creaked a lot when moving which was annoying. Also, the drains in the bathroom would smell a bit in the evening, which was unpleasant.
The property’s location is excellent. It overlooks the Duomo in Amalfi, and is only minutes from the water and the beach. There are many restaurants around too, as well as gelaterias and places for pastries. The staff were very friendly and helpful throughout the stay, particularly on check-in, when the lady on reception helped us plan our route back to the airport for the last day. Breakfast was included and was really nice, on the rooftop overlooking the Duomo and the surrounding area. They gave pastries, bread, doughnuts, cereals etc with the option to add more options for a charge. The room itself was very spacious and bright with a balcony which was very nice.

The location in Amalfi is wonderful. It is a little hard to find, and there are some stairs to climb with your luggage, but the staff contacted us on WhatsApp before our arrival with a video tour of how to find the hotel from the main square, which was very helpful.

AustraliaThere are 3 flights of stairs JUST to reception, let alone a room. NO ELEVATOR. And a band started playing in piazza at 10pm our first night - very noisy location from outside as well as inside with the restaurant activities eg cleaning cutlery/plates until early in morning.
Glorious rooftop restaurant!! Treated so well by staff and the view of the cathedral, piazza, surrounding village is amazing at night. Great breakfast too.
