Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

FranceView from the balcony was a bit obstructed by a pigeon net. Overall outdoor and indoor appearance and freshness didn't really meet my expectations (same could be said for a lot of hotels in Italy, France has higher standards in my opinion).
Friendly staff. Very spacious and clean room, on 8th floor with elevator. Nice bedding. Quiet room. Good location, near a bus stop to Bologna's city centre. Easy drop-off of luggage, away from the ZTL. Street parking was relatively easy (we didn't pay for the hotel parking and found free parking spots 2 minutes away). Good breakfast (with scrambled eggs and knack sausages).

CanadaConstruction outside and they were even working on Sundays. There was a little bit of noise but it was fine. The hotel should educate people who come in after midnight not to talk loud in the hallways. Do not disturb or quiet signs should be put up.
The room was OK to stay a few days. It was clean. We were in room 210. Location wise, public parking across - pay hourly and Sundays are free. It was about a 15-20 minute walk to the center. It was what I expected for the price we paid. Did not have the breakfast therefore can't comment. They have a nice terrace you could sit on. Shower pressure was good.

GermanyThe hotel needs renovation. Breakfast is adequate but can be enhanced. Location is 2 km away from center. You can walk or take public bus. There is a street parking in front of the hotel at an affordable price.
The room was good enough and had the biggest screen led TV I have ever seen in a hotel room. The hotel is near to supermarkets and nice restaurants. The staff were very friendly and spoke English well.

AustraliaThe room was huge and very comfortable. We were able to check in early which was great, and the staff were lovely to deal with. Old town and the main piazza is about 20-25 minute walk but it’s an easy walk. When we were there they were digging up the main road to put a tram line in, so that will be really handy when it’s done. Recommend this property.

IndiaWifi is a pain as it won't be allowing you to be online continuously as it elopes very frequently.
The staff was really nice and cordial. They gave us all the information required to be around the city. The location is also good in a calm place and close(if you love to walk) to the main attractions like city center a 25/30 min walk similarly the train station is 25 mins walk. Having said that there are also buses available very frequently for the same as well. The airport is about 20 mins via bus and then you have to walk around 7 mins to reach the hotel. Overall a good experience.

Romania- Upon arrival, the room was not completely aired and cleaned, finding the garbage in front of us and the general odor, being one of outdated furniture - The room, framed as an apartment, is actually a studio, with partially damaged furniture and with high degrees of wear, except for the bathroom and shower, all kitchen, sofa, bed, bed, TV, table are all in the same room and not separately, as we expected - Both beds are of poor quality - the first bed, being a sofa bed, with a thin and very hard mattress and the bed, apparently matrimonial, is actually a support on which are placed 2 mattresses not fixed in a frame and that during sleep moved - The air conditioning, even at 18 degrees, could not cope with the 40 degrees outside, and if you turned it off overnight, the room suddenly became a sauna - Although they advertised that they have free streaming service, such as Netflix, after 2 days, it was turned off, appearing that the hotel had not paid the subscription - To convince ourselves of the quality and diversity of the breakfast, we tested & paid extra on 2 different days, but were disappointed, with the same result on both days - the hot, cooked, omelette, bacon was cold and except for a few slices of tomato, no vegetables were offered. Otherwise, the overall impression was that the food was old, apparently reused, both the cooked food and especially the pastries, which in places were hard and looked rancid. - If by absurd you wanted to sleep or stay longer than 8 in the morning in the room, although in their brochure, the room and windows appeared to be sound proof, right in front of the hotel the entire street was being renovated and the noise from the workers and machinery was infernal. - We returned to this hotel, after staying in it a few years ago and being very satisfied at the time, but now it looks much worse, both the room, the breakfast, and what they offer vs what they ask.
The room is quite spacious, it has a shower, a bathroom with bathtub, bidet and toilet, a kitchen with mini bar, a sofa bed for 2 people, a double bed and a balcony stretching on 2 sides, one with a view to the church of San Luca and one to the hospital and the main street. The room was cleaned daily, including they changed & tidied the bed linen & towels, except for one day, when they probably forgot to change the towels & pick up the trash. To the center, walking distance is about 25 minutes or 15 minutes by bus (19), which can be taken a few hundred meters from the hotel - 5 minute walk. To the train station, the walk takes about 30 minutes or 20 minutes by bus (35), which can be taken a few hundred meters from the hotel - a 5 minute walk. To the airport, you can take the 20-minute bus (944) which is a thousand meters away - a 10-minute walk. In the area, although on the outskirts, there are plenty of shops, supermarkets and restaurants where you can get groceries or dine.

PortugalIt looks that works are not completed and there are some strange things like the entry door to bathroom so tight. The window next kitchen doesn't close, the outside door to balcony doesn't close. The floor has some gaps. Some sockets without cove in place.
The localisation is good, the issue are the works on main street and to arrive is necessary to make some more streets. The breakfast is very good and the place also.

GermanyA trash bin in the room would have been nice. For the water from the Minibar you need to pay 2€, a 4-star hotel should give out free water bottles in my opinion.
The hotel is located a little outside of the city but with good public transport connections to the center and to the airport. You will find some bars, restaurants and stores near it. The room was in good condition, had AC, a Minibar and everything else you may need You can get water for free from a water tank next to the elevator. Staff was friendly and helpful as well!
