Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

BelgiumIt is an older apartment, and the windows didn't cancel out any of the noise outside. It's located near a square with cafés, so there's noise until late in the evening, and on Thursday there's a market, which starts setting up around 6am. Mainly the noise was a big annoyance. The bathroom was small, but manageable for 3 days. A few more towels would've been appreciated, but in all fairness we did not ask for them.
Nice and clean apartment. It is located near the Ponte Vecchio, and in walking distance from Florence City Center. The contact with the owner/manager went very smoothly, he also gave us some advice for sightseeing and restaurants to try.

NetherlandsThe wifi was not working properly. And some more tea and coffee cups, and some plastic bags for waste.😊
The old atmosphere of the apartment and traditional renovations. In the middle of the old city center with a lot of art, handcrafts and history. Amazing!!

AustraliaThe shower was not good. The shower head holder is so worn that it doesn’t hold the shower head and falls on you in the shower. So you’re forced to have it at waist-height. Also no light in the shower and nowhere to put soaps/shampoo etc. The wifi in the room was only there from a signal booster so it constantly stopped working and was very very slow when it did work. We had to use mobile data. There were no curtains so it was very light in the room, and little sound insulation so it was extremely noisy at all hours of the night. We slept very poorly here.
Very spacious and close to main attractions. Many cafes and restaurants in the vicinity.

United KingdomBeing by Piazza Santo Spirito was great for restaurant but meant you had late night wake up from bars emptying bottle bins and then early morning wake up from the bin men. If traveling with children ensure you email in advance asking for twin beds to be set up or it is automatically set up as a double.
Fantastic location - all major tourist points within 25 minute walk, plus great restaurants on your doorstep.

United StatesGuests with mobility issues should be aware that there is no elevator and a lot of stairs to navigate with luggage. The A/C was uneven -- one bedroom chilly, the other too warm, no A/C reached the bathroom, and the living area got cold.
Great location in a more residential part of Florence, close to dining options at Piazza di Santo Spirito and an excellent gelato spot. Walkable to the Accademia, Duomo, Uffizi Gallery, Boboli Gardens, etc. It was great to have a washing machine, and would have been nice to have a dryer or at least a drying rack to hang clothes to dry. I had a travel clothesline along that I made work on the small balcony.

Great location and next to a cool neighbourhood in Florence. The apartment is nicely decorated, with comfortable beds and a good size rooms. Felt lucky to have found such a nice place. Communication was quick when had any questions.

AustraliaIts on the second floor. is that even a reasonable thing to put down as a draw back? In all, it's well priced, pretty clean, safe and functional. We would stay here again.
The location is spectacular. The apartment was light filled, even in the middle of winter, it smelled fresh NOT damp at all (Firenze can be a bit damp we've found in the past). Very safe and secure. It was a nice size for a family of 4. We all has adequate space. The kitchen is small but functional. the right number of pots and pans (but inadequate utensils... no sharp knife, no tongs) the management staff were awesome. they were so helpful, and so quick to respond to questions. I'd go as far as to say they were the best managers for our entire holiday!

South AfricaIt would be better if the gas stove could ignite automatically, instead of having to use the gas lighters (which were running very low). An added bonus would be to have a clothes drying rack (as there is a washing machine).
We loved the location of this property, close to the lively piazza, with a selection of bakeries and restaurants and a supermarket nearby. The morning market in the piazza offers a good selection of fresh produce in the mornings. The apartment was well kitted out with most things to allow for self catering. sorting in the balcony with morning coffee was lovely.

EstoniaThe apartment is located on the second floor of the building and is accessed by two very long and steep stairs. There is no elevator, so it is still very inconvenient to go up with a large suitcase. The house has thin walls, so you can hear the noise. On the morning of departure, a cleaner walked in the door an hour earlier. We were still in beds. Very unpleasant. Wi-fi is at a normal speed only in the back bedroom. In the rest of the apartment, it is weak or non-existent. The tap water tasted and even smelled bad. This seems to be a problem only for this building, as the public drinking fountains in Florence outside have very good tasting water. Fortunately, the host had put water in a filter jug in the fridge and it improved the taste of the water a little. But, of course, this pitcher cannot cover all the water consumption, so you have to carry bottles from the store all the time.
The apartment was big and clean. The host nicely waited for our arrival and we got the keys from him. You can park in three nearby paid garages, but you also need to reserve a space there in advance, because there may not be spaces available in the high season. The apartment has everything you need for life.

NetherlandsThe self check-in process is very convoluted. Guests must pick up the key in an office nearly 1km away from the apartment. Since both key pick-up location and the apartment are in the old city, driving and parking are very difficult. Furthermore, if you used self check-in, you will need to to to the office (1km away from the apartment) again when checking out to pay the city tax. Parking is very difficult around the apartment and reserving a parking slot is essential. It should be made more clear in the description on the webpage. We asked the host whether they can book a parking slot for us multiple times, but the inquiries are ignored with neither positive nor negative reply.
The kitchen is well equipped and with most kitchenwares provided. The location is safe with three locked doors. Both of the bedrooms and the living room are quite spacious.
