Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

NetherlandsBe ready for stairs since the hotel is on the 2F.
Best location with great value for money. Located, next to a famous trattoria in Florence and the Mercato. It is also near the Duomo and the train station. Friendly and helpful staff. Perfect for couples.

Very good location, 5 minutes by foot from the Dome. The building is quite old, so you get what you expect, but the room is clean with everything you need.

United StatesThe hotel and room was up a couple flights of stairs, which I didn't expect.
I stayed in a room with a shared bathroom. It was clean, comfortable and the staff was very kind and friendly. She knew I was coming in from the US and let me check in early. I liked that it was close to the train station and near the center of town. Everything was within walking distance.

United KingdomWe could do with a little table in the room to put our wine glasses on :-) and maybe two chairs. But that's not something major.
Central location. Pretty much in the centre of the action. Right next to Mercado Centrale, and a very short walk from The Duomo.

NetherlandsThe noise was a bit of an issue. It was noisy during dinner time, because the venue was surrounded by restaurants. However, after the hour when warm kitchens were shut, the region quieted down.
The location was close to major tourist sites, as well as the train station (S. M. N). One could ask the staff for recommendations of restaurants locals would go to. The air conditioner quickly warmed up the room in winter.

United KingdomWe expected that there were lots of stairs to reach the hotel and reception. We were travelling light so that wasn't a problem but those with large suitcases struggled. No lift and four flights of stairs (second floor). Reception only manned between 08:00 and 20:00 - a phone number and a call out fee outside of these times. The en-suite shower was just a trickle and it was difficult to control the temperature due to poor cold water pressure.
It is well within the historic city of Florence. The proprietors were very friendly/helpful and speak very good english (handy as my Italian is rubbish). It is secure accomodation from which to explore the city. The hotel does not have food but there are lots of restaurants and cafes as soon as you walk outside of the building.

United KingdomIt could do with some modernisation. Although it wasn’t (for us) a problem that the decor wasn’t contemporary, it would have been better if the shower had a door and not a curtain. Better lighting would transform the whole building.
The location was excellent. Just a few minutes walk from the centre.

HungaryThe stairs, but it looks like its came from the architecture of Florence. Every building is narrow and you must get your heavy baggages at least the second floor. Our room view wasn't the best, we didn't saw any landmark from it, but the interiors of the building :(
Perfect location, at San Giovanni's district, everything is close by, good room, with everything you need, king size bed, TV, bathroom with bidet, toiletries, hair dryer. Staff was friendly and polite, also fluent in english. There is a good gluten-free restaurant just around the corner. The price was affordable - this was my most expensive room in Florence -, and they let us do an early check-in which was very nice! I definetely recommend even for longer stay. I would like to come back here any time.

United StatesThe room had essentials only, which is exactly what is listed. The beds were arranged in a neat row with a desk for sitting and writing. For some, this space might be considered tight, but if you are using this room as a homebase for seeing Florence and being out on the town, and just sleeping at night, it is sufficient. There is also shared spaces outside the room if lounging space is needed.
The hotel is centrally located in Florence, with easy access to the Academia Gallery and Central Market. Parking nearby was possible with suggestion from the staff. The room itself offered views of the tiled roofs of Firenze, with a balcony for fresh air. Check in and check out were easy.
