Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Comfortable, old fashioned, high ceiling rooms at the heart of Rome. Location is just perfect. It was quiet, comfortable, easy and clean. Some nice antiques.

NetherlandsThe facilities in the room. I may not have read all the description of what is in the room but I missed having a water cooker, I like to have hot water drink at night or tea. The only hotel I have stayed that there is no coffee or tea making facility The bathroom in the quadruple room has a bidet but difficult to sit as there is not enough room for your leg. Another thing I did not like is that we put a "DO NOT DISTURB" sign outside the door, they still enter and did the cleaning. This happens every day of our stay.
I like the location as it is in the center and walking distance from most of the places I wanted to visit. Host is friendly and helpful if you speak a little Italian but she has difficulty understanding English.

United StatesThe twin beds mattresses were kind of thin and not real comfortable. The street noise was loud at times. However the excellent windows when closed blocked noise extremely well so night noise did not affect sleep if the windows were closed.
The location was great. Most places that we wanted to go were within walking distance. Plenty of good cafes and restaurants were close by. The room was very spacious and clean. Although limited in English language the staff was very friendly and helpful

KenyaThe rooms are really ancient, bathroom is small toilet is small and there's some smell that comes from the toilet especially at night. I think they recycle the water in the toilet. It was smelly at night. The lift is really tiny cannot fit in with luggage. It's an old school lift but it works.
The location is very good. The lady at the reception is very welcoming and she made me feel at home. I arrived late in the night at 11.00 and was scared to walk around alone on the deserted streets, i asked her to escort me to a restaurant nearby and she did which was very kind of her. She also helped me with the bags and made sure i got in the taxi safely when i checked out. she was very friendly. wasnt sure if she was just an employee or the owner. She made me feel comfortable. Hotel is in the middle of a busy shopping street which is very convenient and is also near tourist attractions which i really liked. I give them 100% for location.

AustraliaThe shower was big but a little awkward - but as it’s an old building with converted rooms, some things are a bit quirky.
I have stayed here before 17 years ago. It is situated in the best street - Via Del Corso and is convenient to walk to major attractions. The bed was very comfortable with lovely clean sheets. The owner/manager (Marinella??) was lovely and helpful and even though she could not speak much English - I can speak no Italian, we managed.

Location is amazing, you can reach main historical places in old downtown by walk, also to do your shopping, and to reach metrostation.. Place is neat, specious for family, cooperative supporting staff, very good wifi signal. We really enjoyed all the details of our stay.

The receptionist was very very kind, wonderful smile, and even if I didn’t speak much Italian we were still able to communicate, it was a pleasure to meet her. The room was beautiful — Incredibly large and cosy with the bathroom and bedroom separated by a corridor, which I really liked. Location was perfect too, just under 5 minutes to either the Spagna or Flaminio metro
