Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

New ZealandMy room was very close to the railway line and there are a lot of trains, so it was quite noisy sometimes.
Comfortable and clean room, nice breakfast with good choices of food, and close to the town centre, the beach and the railway station.

NetherlandsThe train noise. There's no safe way to walk into the entrance except through a path with very low outdoor window shades. Other than that it was perfect!
Location was perfect. All basic amenities. Would recommend to a friend.

United KingdomThe plug sockets could do with a revamp.
The room and doors were slightly dated and flimsy, breakfast was fairly simple but was delicious. The staff were very friendly and the location is brilliant. Overall great for what you pay and can’t really fault it.

GermanyThe hotel is located 10min by car from the very nice La Secca Beach, 40min from Portofino area, and in the other direction, quite closed from Cinqueterre. The center of Moneglia, 10min by feet, offers nice restaurants with wonderful food and Terraces. The hotel personal is very friendly and helpful

Italyoverall it’s a really good place, the train rail is above the area so you can here it 24hrs. The church rings it’s bells every hour from 7am to 10pm (with half hours). These are not problems of the hotel but it’s too keep in mind.
it’s very clean, the space was very big, the room had 2 bathrooms and terrace with a view of the church.

AustraliaNothing to not like.
The hotel was awesome and the best value for money for the area just before the cinque Terre. Attilio, Michela, Patrizia and all staff were so warm and friendly and most helpful. Great breakfast full of all the continental delights. Room amenities were very modern. Loved our stay there.

SlovakiaThe only minus is that it's close to the railways, so you hear the train almost every hour, a few times during the night as well, but for the price it was still great and location was close to everything.
Very nice ladies at receptions, we needed early checkout, and there was no problem with that. The hotel is 20 mins walk from train station and not even 5 from the sea. The room was very nice, the beds were comfy. We had a little kitchen in the room as well. Breakfast was great. We had salty and sweet options, juice, tea, and coffee. We really enjoyed the staying and had beautiful views from the balcony to the mountains.

United Arab EmiratesI was asked multiple times after I’ve checked in if I am staying in the hotel. The room key is too big. They did not inform that the reception is not 24 hours. I had to call them over the phone and wait for more than 20 minutes. I missed all my trains to my next destination as the receptionist was not there to collect my key. I appreciate the help of the receptionist though that came to check me out. She called her mother to bring me to the train station so that I would be able to catch my train, but unfortunately I missed it already.
Location is good. Close to the beach. The room was big but kind of out dated.

NetherlandsThe hotel is next to the rail road and trains pass regularly. Another review of this hotel states "zug im zimmer" which is a great description. The temperature of the shower is very difficult to regulate, which is a risk if you want your kid to take a shower (it sometimes gets very hot or very cold). Generally, the room is very outdated and seems to have had its last makeover in the 80's.
The staff was super super friendly (I would rate them with a 10)! The hotel is a 5 minute walk from the beach. Private parking is great (although 10 EUR per day).
