Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaThe kitchen was not well equiped. Salt pepper, more olive oil. No milk on arrival. Lots of stairs to negotiate. Shower was small. Could hear and see neighbours at times who were noisy.
It was quite and rural. Quite an arduous walk into the centre. Coming home at night you had to take a taxi home. It would be great if you had a car and there was plenty of parking, even in a garage. Loved the apples on arrival

United KingdomThe shower curtain in the shower had seen betters days and could do with being replaced more frequently.
Lovey quiet location just outside the hustle and noise of Central Siena. We drove and it was easy to get to and find - We used Waze. We also walked into Siena one day - lovely walk but I would not recommend if you have any mobility issues.

CanadaThe kitchen/living room area was a bit small in our suite for 2 people. And the couch was not very comfortable to sit on for more than a short time. But the bedrooms and bathrooms are spacious so there is a tradeoff. If you're not planning on cooking too much its sufficient.
Location was perfect as it was quiet and a beautiful setting, place was well set up and very clean, staff were very helpful. On our last day it was raining heavily. Viola offered an umbrella to take with us. We used public transit to the historic center. It was far easier than driving and parking. 8 minutes by bus. Tickets available at reception. I would definitely recommend staying here.

SwedenIts quite hilly surroundings so the 25 min walk to the town center can be quite a challenge (but it´s worth it!). If you dont like to walk the bus stop is only about 100 meters from the hotel.
We had a small kitchen in the apartment, very nice to make breakfast for ourself and eat on the patio. Nice garden/hotel area. Helpful and cheerful staff.

AustraliaWonderful location overlooking greenery. View from the hill was sensational - could see the main town of Siena which was magical. Very close to reliable public transport into the town. Close to a small store to buy basic essentials. The kitchen was perfectly equipped with utensils and cookware to make any meal. The pool was delightful. Staff were so friendly and made me feel very welcome. Using fresh-grown herbs in my cooking was a wonderful addition to my stay. The perfect Tuscan villa stay!

IrelandThe distance from the centre of Siena was a little long to walk which we needed to do most evenings, as taxis were almost impossible to get and the bus service finished before 9pm in the evenings.
The pool was good. Location was quiet. The bus service was good when available.

New ZealandThe drier was not operational, so laundry had to be air dried. Okay if you had a day to let it dry, but not good if you were leaving the next day. Rooms smelt a little musty on arrival, but that soon went
The rooms were spacious, and the surroundings were beautiful

New ZealandThe walk into town included a part through bush which was steep and not great when damp. No where local within walking distance to eat.
Free on-site parking a plus. Easy 3 min walk to bus at top of street into old town. Spacious room with patio. Really nice, welcoming and helpful staff.

NetherlandsThe mattresses are too hard for our taste and feeling. We prefer softer.
Perfect apartment with a view from the private terrace. Everything needed for the self catering was available. There is a little shop for bread, pastry and other first needs annex bar/pizzeria in walking distance. Pizza also for take away to the apartment. Siena is absolutely fantastic, there is so much to see and admire. The Tuscan surroundings are also very nice to visit when you have a car.

PortugalThe distance from the city center is a dealbreaker, specially at night when there is a need to call a taxi. The kitchen lacked a oven. There was a need to pay extra for doing the laundry.

United KingdomThe apartment is relatively basic and a bit old fashioned but works fine. The kitchen is not as well stocked as other places we have stayed but had the basics, including a good bread knife. The lounge area is small in comparison to the rest of the apartment.
Very friendly welcome, great location - we enjoyed being able to walk into town and it was easy to get taxis to/from Le Meridiane to the town centre and the station. The apartment was spacious and the beds comfortable. I would recommend this as a self catering option if you are visiting Siena. Note, we were there out of season so did not use the pool, giant chess board or other amenities on site.

United KingdomThe apartment was just what we were looking for - we decided to extend our stay in Siena - we had been in the centre of the city and wanted somewhere quieter but still with easy access. If I had one small criticism it would be in some ways the apartment/residence looks a little ‘tired’. Everything was clean but the bathrooms could maybe do with some redecoration and this could apply to other places on the site. This didn’t spoil our stay at all - in fact this is not untypical in Italy - and we love Italy all the same!
The apartment was very spacious with a large private outdoor seating area. The reception staff are excellent - very welcoming and helpful. The location is ideal if you want to enjoy Siena and tour the surrounding area but want to come back somewhere quiet and restful at the end of the day. The bus into central Siena is from a stop around 200m away, buses are every half hour and it takes about 20 minutes into town. From the Residence you have a lovely view of Siena across the valley - it’s only about a mile away as the crow flies. The pool wasn’t open when we stayed (October) but I imagine that it would be great at the end of a hot day in the city to have a nice cooling dip. I would recommend the shop/bar/pizzeria which is about half a mile away - people there were very friendly and the pizzas excellent.

United KingdomNothing wrong with the apartment to comment on.
Good location for views and getting the bus into the city. Good transport for getting out of the city to visit San Gimignano and other beautiful towns/villages. Easy to walk down a nature path and explore the historical centre of Siena. The pool was very clean and a good size with massage jets. There were also plenty of sun loungers with a shower & toilet. We liked the spacious apartment, supply of toiletries and the outside seating. It was also a quiet and relaxing place to stay with friendly, knowledgeable staff.

United KingdomThere was sadly a constant traffic noise from Siena in the valley below. The apartment was very basic with a mish mash of cutlery, crockery and furniture. The bathroom furniture was also very basic.
The apartment was clean and in a good position for visiting Siena. The swimming pool was lovely. Coffee was available from a small cafe vending machine on site. The complex was quiet and the reception staff were very helpful
