Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

CanadaNo complaints. Everything met or exceeded our expectations. While the Hotel is located in the Monti or blue collar district of Rome (not considered the most glamorous), the area appeared safe and clean and within a short walking distance to the Rome train station.
Large, spacious, clean room with large windows and excellent view of the piazza dell’ Esquilino and the magnificent Santa Maria Maggiore basilica. The hotel is situated approximately 20 - 30 min walk from most major attractions, but also is situated just a few minutes from Tour bus stops and Hop-on Hop off bus stops on the opposite side of the piazza. Bus tickets can be booked online or with assistance from the front desk. Hotel staff were polite, responsive and helpful throughout our stay. Buffet breakfast was excellent with plenty of choices (hot and cold options), great coffee and juices. Restaurants, bars, and gelato shops all within walking distances. Would highly recommend.

Faultless! The staff were superb always friendly and nothing was too much trouble, from reception to the lady looking after the breakfast area to the cleaners. The communication before our stay was excellent. The room was a good size, with a view of the Basilica in front, very clean and was cleaned daily. The bed was very comfortable and the air con was appreciated as it was fairly warm during our stay. The breakfast was excellent too, plenty of choice from pastries to scrambled eggs and bacon to continental meats and cheeses. Location was great as it is only a 10 min or so walk to the Colosseum, with plenty of restaurants around too. I can’t recommend highly enough if you’re planning on visiting Rome.

IrelandBeds a little soft, breakfast was good and could be improved further to include more types of bread, additional hot food options.
Great staff professional, accommodating, and friendly. Very clean rooms and main areas. Great location for sightseeing, most within 20min walk (Colosseum, Trevi Fountain, Pantheon, Spanish Steps), Vatican approx 40min. Beautiful views of the Basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore. Very limited street noise. Great choice of restaurants within 5 min walking. Very nice touch offering complementary coffee and water throughout the day.

My room was beautifully outfitted with working ac and a marble bathroom with a rainshower! The bed was comfortable and while the room was not spacious, it was the perfect size for one person, especially if, like me, you are a minimalist and used to small, efficient spaces. The price definitely matched what I expected and I believe this hotel is a good value. I would much rather not overpay for things that are pretty but not necessary. In addition, the complimentary breakfast was a very generous spread and there were also complimentary beverages in the room. The room also has a room safe, free WiFi, and I had a view of Rome. Despite the high ceilings and tiled environment (both inside and outside my room), my room was very quiet and I slept peacefully and without any noisy interruptions. The staff are lovely and the walk to Roma Termini only took about 10 minutes. I would definitely stay here again!

United StatesThe hotel apparently sits above the blue Metro line and if you are very sensitive to noise it could bother you. I occassionally could feel a slight vibration which I think was the subway train. But the hotel was there long before the subway line so it is not the hotel's fault.
Very responsive staff and excellent breakfast. They even offerred to give me a box breakfast when I needed to check out early in the morning. They made arrangements for a car service to pick me up at the airport and a taxi to return to the airport. All arrangements were seamless.

Australianothing everything was amazing
This was a great place to stay convenient location 10mins to Termini, about 25mins walk to Colosseum. The neighbourhood Monti has a alot of great eateries and also accommodation is next to one of main must see churches. The breakfast in-house was one of the best i ever had in Rome - fresh vegetables, meats, cheeses, fruits, juices and also they provided pastries and coffee machines/water station accessible up to 11pm each day which was a lifesaver.
