Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):

We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

United KingdomThe only thing we did not like is that there was a town party on Sat night with a disco literally on our doorstep and loud music until 2.30am. It would have been nice to have been told about it. But I think it is a once a year event.
Lovely historic town and lovely very old and sympathetically restored property. Big and powerful shower, kitchen with big fridge. The bedroom is spacious and very cute. Large lounge.

HungaryI had an absolutely charming stay at Porta Romana! The Tuscan village had stunning panoramas that took my breath away, and the bedrooms were comfortable and cozy. The neighborhood was tranquil, allowing for a peaceful and relaxing retreat. However, I encountered a couple of issues, such as the absence of toilet paper, which was a bit inconvenient. Furthermore, the narrow streets made parking a bit challenging. Despite these minor drawbacks, I enjoyed my time in Porta Romana and cherished the scenic beauty it offered.

United StatesSmall critiques, but not dealbreakers: There could be closer attention given to detail such as coffee pods for the espresso machine, a more thorough cleaning of the shower door track, shampoo/soap, & a welcome sheet with the WiFi instructions/bars/restaurants nearby. Big critique: All of my messages to the host were unanswered. The check-in & checkout times overlap, causing confusion. The lack of correspondence & confusion regarding check-in time resulted in a frustrating & stressful check-in experience. I would encourage the host to respond to messages & requests promptly in order to facilitate ease of check-in for future guests.
The accommodations are true to the pictures on Booking.com. It’s nicely decorated, spacious, & centrally located. In particular, the beds & pillows are very comfortable. Parking is also located close by.

ItalyApartment does not offer Wi-fi. Plus in the bedroom it was not possible to navigate. Shower itself is ok but water leaks through the door and get the bathroom floor wet all over. Hairdryer was there but not functioning. TV not functioning. We didn't figure out how to make Kitchen gas functioning. The owner came to bring the key (check-in) no explanation at all regarding the apartment facilities. Bedroom window faces to the street and could be noisy by cars and passersby. Air-conditioning is only in living room (not functioning when we stated) and no AC in the bedroom, we found a fan.
Very Spacious. Position is good Free parking space just outside of the Porta Romana (Parking just out of the property is not recommended since it is ZTL) Retrò style interior (could be a Pro but also be a Con) Full kitchen with normal size fridge (for long stay)

IcelandIt had really stale moldy smell, felt like it hadn’t been aired out for a while. the air condition was very old and leaked. The apartment really had potential to be very nice but sadly our experince of the place wasn’t.
Looked very good on the photos, and was somewhat nice in real life. The owner was also really nice.
